Did not mean to imply there is anything positive about the killing of black victims by police. It’s heinous and must be stopped.

I can’t let this distract me today while I’m at work, but just to know that 558 people have been killed already in 2016 by cops is mind blowing.

    Congrats dear Judith on First {{{hugs}}}

They do not want to wound – wounded people can talk. Dead men tell no tales.

I have never had to face the guns – nor the racism pf – but I do try to imagine the feelings – will never understand why some “father-in-laws” don’t slam the door on the media and say nothing. TOD has opened my eyes on so many things I spent my life “not seeing”

    • July 6, 2016 at 3:45 pm

What is wrong with people? You can believe what the cop did was right, but you can also show some compassion for the family of that man who is dead. People now a days are cold hearted bastards. If the father does not know what it is like to walk in those protesters shoes, then he need to shut his lily white mouth.

      • July 6, 2016 at 3:48 pm

When it comes to white cops killing black people, there will be no accountability. They will walk away free, because blacks lives don’t matter.

This is not a good bill. In reality it provides for :

      – no on package label requirement,
      – no federal enforcement penalties,
      – massive loopholes in what is the definition of GMO products and what has to be labeled,
      – AND it will pre-empt all state laws that require on package labeling.

It is not a compromise bill, but instead is a ban on GMO labeling in disquise.

Take the time to contact your Senators to tell them to vote against this bill. Tell them to side with the people, not with corporations.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/06/opinion/campaign-stops/a-real-estate-developer-can-go-bankrupt-a-president-cant.html?_r=1

After the recent Brexit vote in Britain, Donald J. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, commented on the fallout: “I don’t want to have a plummeting pound. But if it does plummet, I do well.”

Similarly, in 2006, before the collapse in the housing market, Mr. Trump said, “I sort of hope that happens because then people like me would go in and buy.”

Most Britons have retirement savings and college tuition in pounds. For most Americans, a house is a major asset and a basis for a secure retirement, in addition to being where they live and raise a family.

But not for Mr. Trump. In both cases, what is tumult for most people is for him just another way to win at the roulette wheel.

The comments offered revealing glimpses into Mr. Trump’s mind-set as well as the essence of his longstanding business code: turn the losses of others into opportunities for his own profit.

They doth protest too much. They are becoming unhinged.

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/eric-trump-rants-donald-donations

Eric Trump reportedly called up The Washington Post on Wednesday to profanely rant at the reporter spearheading coverage of the charitable contributions made (or not made) by his father, Donald Trump.

But the younger Trump didn’t offer any evidence of those donations.

“I’m just saying, Jesus Christ, why is this guy trying to f—ing kill us?” Trump allegedly told the Post’s David A. Fahrenthold.

Fahrenthold had meticulously tried to find corroboration for Donald Trump’s claims of generous charitable giving, contacting 200 charities associated with the businessman. The reporter found only one charity that received a donation, in the amount of less than $10,000.

    http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2016/07/06/3795722/pam-bondi-trump-complaint/

Florida’s AG Is Tied Up In The Trump University Scandal. And Things Just Got Worse.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is in a bit of hot water.
The trouble started in June, when the Associated Press reported that Bondi “personally solicited a political contribution from Donald Trump” in 2013 — right around the time she was deciding whether or not to investigate alleged fraud at Trump University. Trump University, of course, is the controversial for-profit school owned by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
It was only four days after Bondi announced she might join an investigation into Trump University when a Trump family foundation gave $25,000 to a political group supporting Bondi’s re-election. After that money came in, Bondi said she would not pursue a lawsuit against Trump University. Two years later — one day before Florida’s crucial primary election — Bondi endorsed Trump for president.

The Senator from Vermont, the Dear Leader of the Great Revolution, has better show up with some pretty good speech while endorsing the presumed Democratic nominee. He should not mince his words at eviscerating The Donald and his ridiculous campaign from which GOP officials are fleeing like mosquitoes. He needs not talk about what the Democratic platform or the Party should be. He should leave that for the grown ups: POTUS and HRC.

All he needs to do is bring his young revolutionaries to the fight against the crazy right at all levels.

Lately I have noticed I see Jane, wife/campaign manager with Bernie all the time. It seems strange cuz it even was when he showed up in the Senate to vote. There were no other wives there. I remember historically a couple of First Ladies that tried to cover for sick or incapacitated husbands that were Presidents. Jane’s behavior almost mirrors that which makes me wonder given Bernie’s age if he does have some problems we are not as aware of as Jane is?

        • July 6, 2016 at 8:34 pm

      From the link

“We have to vote,” a young man named Earl Seiger said. “We have to select the people who make the decisions for our community.” Sterling’s pastor, Carl Williams, said this is just the beginning.

“I will go to my grave trying to make something happen,” he said. “The ground has been polluted with innocent blood.”

Usually I mute Trump … but he’s so out of control during the rant he’s giving now in Ohio, I’m glad I’m hearing it. He’s gonna fizzle out, of that I am quite sure. He’ll take a lot of people with him, but not before driving Republicans crazy that he represents ALL OF THEM.
