Again, we have George Bush to thank for this mess. If he would have dealt with Afghanistan in 2001 and stayed out of Iraq, we wouldn’t have ISIS and this now.

Thank you NW for everything you do.

I’m thinking republicans and their donors are involved in the opiate economy in Afghanistan and they are making deals with the Taliban and other terrorist groups to get cover for their activities. then add to that the weapons trade and you know the complex set of problems the President and our military are dealing with.

And like all spoiled children, Jackie, George Bush made the mess and left it for others to clean up.

    From her FB page
    Hillary Clinton
    36 mins ·
The death of Alton Sterling is a tragedy, and my prayers are with his family, including his five children. From Staten Island to Baltimore, Ferguson to Baton Rouge, too many African American families mourn the loss of a loved one from a police-involved incident. Something is profoundly wrong when so many Americans have reason to believe that our country doesn’t consider them as precious as others because of the color of their skin.
I am glad the Department of Justice has agreed to a full and thorough review of this shooting. Incidents like this one have undermined the trust between police departments and the communities they serve. We need to rebuild that trust. We need to ensure justice is served. That begins with common sense reforms like ending racial profiling, providing better training on de-escalation and implicit bias, and supporting municipalities that refer the investigation and prosecution of police-involved deaths to independent bodies. All over America, there are police officers demonstrating how to protect the public without resorting to unnecessary force. We need to learn from and build on those examples.
Progress is possible if we stand together and never waver in our fight to secure the future that every American deserves.

    • 27 jackiegrumbacher
      July 6, 2016 at 9:27 pm

Good for Hillary. The reforms she lists are needed ones and, based on her track record, I think she’ll spend a lot of serious effort trying to make those reforms a reality. It’s not going to solve the problem of racial profiling or eradicate hate, but it would be a good step in the right direction.

They could always refuse to attend these ‘hearings’ and see where the chips fall. the rethugs would do it in a jiffy claiming all kindsa witch hunting butthurt whines. I am sorry, the admin should take a stand and call out their effing bluff.

        • July 6, 2016 at 9:57 pm

Refusing to attend doesn’t mean they don’t still hold hearings. So it becomes the GOP Show, full of lies and innuendo. The admin can’t do a freakin’ thing to halt this because SEPARATION OF POWERS.

I’m having to place my faith in the American people to judge the outright ridiculousness and wasteful spending of these hearings. ARGH.

OMG. Found it. This is the freakin’ written transcript (more like a quick court reporter’s phonetic piece, in some parts) of Trump’s rant today in Cincinnati. Hopefully, one day, this will be the only thing left in the history books about him, other than making note that he was carted away to go spend time with some therapists at some golf club somewhere. Maybe Scotland. They seemed to “love” him there.

I made it my mission to find the transcript so I could tweet it around. Even worse reading it than watching it (if that’s possible).

AMK, with respect to your questions upthread on the House Committees. The House GOP is completely out of control and think they live in a one party country. On the last Benghazi investigation, the Dems on the committee frequently were NOT notified when witnesses were questioned, missed much of the testimony and documents, and did NOT see or receive a copy of the final report before it was released despite promises by Gowdy to the contrary. Because all of the committees are chaired by Rs, nothing they can do about it. But this is a big part of the reason Washington has completely broken down. This kind of thing did NOT happen when the Dems were in control. But the Dems play by the rules, and the GOP thinks the rules only apply to the Dems and not to them. It is a complete mess. I blame Ryan for not ensuring that his HOUSE is run correctly. Gives you some idea what he would do as President, which he is planning for. I hope that Trump takes him down with the rest of that despicable party.

    OMG, OMG, OMG

Woke up about an hour ago. Tried to go back to sleep but couldn’t. I decided just to get up and now I’m reading about another horrific shooting. OMG, I can’t belief the ongoing-never-stops-never-ends daily brutality coming from our nation’s police force. Racism and guns and hatred and sick minds. This is grotesque, horrible, indescribably insane. OMG.

The system has to stop protecting these sociopathic cops whose life’s mission is to get a dead N**er or two under their belt. I’m sorry if this offends but it’s the whole truth. Propane Jane was totally correct when she asserted (with more than enough evidence) that the US law enforcement system was designed with racist underpinnings – largely to keep Black people in check. Anyone who doesn’t see that by now, will never see it.

Okay! Thanks to Don Cheadle, I can now go to sleep with a smile after this horrific night! Get ’em Don! 😂😂😂

… and it wasn’t about the shootings! This is what this turdball decided to step Don about… mutha-freakin’ Trump!
