      Must be a dead zone as I’m the only one on TOD? I am so tired of the MSM and their need to do the “both sides” argument in their coverage of the “chaos at the DNC” stuff. Yahoo.com had 5 headlines similar to each other about this. It makes me so mad that these distractions are taking away from the awesomeness of our ideas and policies and our wonderful speakers (sans Bernie Sanders who I hold responsible for this).

      Congratulations, Betsy! I agree with you about the media’s obsession with conflict over actual policy differences that impact people’s lives.

    Maybe also put in a word about respect.

      Bernie is going to learn a harsh lesson during the DNC. Going too far and not showing nuance has consequences. He has been comfortable for years in being “pure” in his rhetoric, and voting no for imperfect bills each time democrats didn’t need his vote.

      But now that he has lured a lot of idealists into thinking that “revolution” happens fast, now that he has demonized Cllinton in order to win more primaries, he is realizing that he has empowered the hard left to become disruptive. (Apparently, there was some heckling and shouting by Berniebots in some gatherings of state delegations today ( NV, CA, OH …)

      Impossible that Bernie doesn’t understand, deep down, that he has unleashed forces that could help Donald Trump to win.

      • July 25, 2016 at 2:01 pm

        I just read down the thread that some Bernie delegates booed Nancy Pelosi. REALLY ????

        I’m fuming.

        Bernie Sanders better do something BIG in his speech tonight. It is not in his nature, but he will have to admit that his criticism went too far, he will have to convince his delegates that making some compromise doesn’t equal corruption.

        The man has been living in a bubble for too long. He has never understood the concept of REAL ACTIVISM, REAL PROGRESSIVISM. He just has been a professional “protester” for decades. Only talk and negativity. But the chickens are coming out to roost. May the realization of what he has unleashed shame him and make him uncomfortable. A girl can dream.

    Disgusting BernieBros…..

    California delegates booed a lineup of speakers Monday at a breakfast for the state’s delegation when urged to unite to elect Hillary Clinton, while the mention of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) elicited cheers, Roll Call reported.

    House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Michael Honda (R-CA) were among the speakers who were booed. The crowd began protesting whenever uniting to elect Clinton was mentioned, Roll Call reported.

    Some delegates also began chanting, “Bernie, Bernie, Bernie!” during Rep. Barbara Lee’s (D-CA) speech, according to the report, and a sign supporting Sanders was thrust into Pelosi’s face.

    5 Ways Republicans Are On The Verge Of Unprecedented Political Domination
    July 25, 2016 12:30 am

    You have to give the Republicans who have decided not to get on the #TrumpTrain — possibly the world’s all-time worst metaphor given Trump’s unique appeal to hordes of online antisemites — a little credit.

    Sure, they’d love to accomplish all the things Trump would have to do as president to avoid an inevitable primary challenge, including gutting Medicare, slashing taxes for billionaires and their kids, and guaranteeing that big oil will be able to accelerate climate change by slashing regulations. But they’re willing to risk all that because they’re clear-headed enough to be scared shitless by him. They recognize Trump’s unique disregard for the truth, societal norms, and the institutions that have kept the world from avoiding World War III.

    Even if Trump weren’t the nominee, America is on the verge of a massive decision, unlike any we’ve faced in our lifetime.

    More than fifty years ago, conservatives began a quest to reverse the gains of the New Deal, the Great Society and Civi Rights movement by fighting for an agenda that would gut the federal government’s powers to guarantee benefits, establish parity between workers and basses, and protect individual rights. And they’re on the verge of achieving the power necessary to do all of that and more. That the party is still on the verge of a crackup given the enormous spoils of a convincing win in November is a tribute to the unique threat Trump presents.

    Here are five ways the GOP will achieve almost unprecedented political domination of the United States of America.

    1. An executive promising to take executive powers beyond even Nixon at his worst
    2. A Congress intent of revising government’s role into one that primarily comforts the comfortable and afflicts the afflicted.
    3. A Supreme Court willing to toss out precedents.
    4. Total Republican control of a majority of states.
    5. A victory that would mean mass deportations and a culture of vengeance towards non-white Americans.

      What is this? I don’t understand the purpose of this article as it seems to me that Democrats have the edge here; that President Obama has significantly changed the United States and that we have hung on to most of the progressive things like: Social Security, Medicare not to mention the Affordable Care Act.

    CARLOS MAZA

    CNN law enforcement analyst Harry Houck promoted a video that calls for President Obama to “ban niggas” in order to reduce violent crime, continuing Houck’s long history of peddling racist tropes about the African-American community.

    On July 25, Houck posted a link to a video on his Twitter account featuring Atlanta radio host and men’s rights activist Tommy Sotomayor, in which Sotomayor said that Obama should “ban niggas” because black men commit more violent crimes than other groups. Houck tweeted the video with the comment, “He knows what he’s talking about!”:

          Don, you expressed my sentiments so well. Bernie was the one that incited the behavior of his cult members when he incensed them with the need for a “revolution” on the Democratic Party. The Republican Party is where a revolution needs to happen. That’s where all the crazies and crazy talk reign!

          BS had dangerously played with fire. He has no control over his cult members. Even with the ousting of Debbie W. he couldn’t appease them. They booed for a long time and I remain convinced that a hefty percentage will either 1) sit out the elections, or 2) vote the other way.

          Bernie has acted irresponsibly after the NY primaries when it became clear that he will not catch HRC in terms of delegates. He should have quit his failed campaign then. To make matter worse, his refusal to endorse HRC right away feuded the mind and appetite of the wild revolutionaries in his camps, and that includes Susan Surandon and Nina Turner, both of whom I can’t see on TV for fear of breaking my screen.

          Bernie bears the responsibility of what’s been going on in Philly since yesterday.

      Bernie has always wanted a “revolution”. He has said he has no control over his followers all along. He has modeled hate and disgust for Hillary during his Primary run. He convinced his followers that the election was unfair. He has asked for unprecedented changes in the party platform based on his winning many votes even though he admitted he only ran for President in the Democratic Party because of the money and support the party could give him. He brainwashed his followers against her splitting the party. How he can think his run and the way he ran had nothing to do with his followers current behavior. Crowd behavior is influenced from the top as we saw when President Obama repeatedly shut down booing with “Don’t boo! vote” while Sarah Palin and now Donald Trump encourage violence and bad behavior. Bernie may be Donald Light, but his leadership initiated their behavior. He was always naive about his ability to change things and what it would really take and how to do it.

    Despite what you’ve heard, Democrats aren’t in disarray. Their party is under attack from the outside.

    The Democratic Party isn’t being torn apart from the inside; it’s being attacked from the outside.
    ….
    And this is what’s important to understand about the protests now going on: They aren’t Democrats fighting with Democrats. I wasn’t able to go to Philadelphia this week, so I’d encourage the reporters who are there and are covering the anti-Clinton protests to ask those participating a simple question: Do you consider yourself a Democrat? Because I’m fairly certain that they’ll find almost no one who says yes. This is even true of some of the people who are Bernie Sanders delegates; they got involved in the Sanders campaign, but they weren’t Democrats before this election began and they won’t be after it’s over. We’ve seen this at the highest levels: Consider that Sanders appointed Cornel West to the Democrats’ platform committee, and after helping decide what the party stands for, West promptly turned around and endorsed Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
    ….
    But for some of his most ardent followers, joining the Democratic Party was never part of the deal. Many of the ones now protesting are quite open about the fact that their goal is to destroy the party, and if Sanders is no longer a vehicle for the achievement of that goal, they’re likely to turn their backs on him.
    ….
    But there is one thing that links the two stories: In both cases, the rebellious forces couldn’t seriously impede the party’s chosen nominee. In the Republicans’ case, it was because they couldn’t overcome the tendency to rally around the party’s choice, no matter how repellent he might be. In the Democrats’ case, it’s because the Sanders supporters who have any sense have come to the same conclusion that Sanders himself did: that no matter how much they would rather Sanders had won, he didn’t, and now there’s a rather pressing priority, which is making sure the racist, xenophobic, ignorant, narcissistic buffoon the Republicans have nominated doesn’t become the most powerful human being on Earth.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2016/07/25/despite-what-youve-heard-democrats-arent-in-disarray-their-party-is-under-attack-from-the-outside/

    THIS is what Bernie himself never understood, these are NOT Democrats, they are rabble rousers. Too bad the DNC and Bernie let them inside the tent. There will be a price tonight.

    All I know is that if these Bernie assholes boo the First Lady tonight, all freaking hell is gonna break loose! We Black folks do not play when it comes to our President and First Lady. Watch what happens in November.

    Can’t control your people Bernie? I don’t understand why the Dems would give him any concessions!

    Was watching CSPAN and am so tired of all the attention on DWS; all the negativity and “both sides” narrative. I’ve had to turn it off.

    three things:

    – I wrote here yesterday that the BS revolutionaries would NOT be satisfied by asking DWS to resign and that they would just pocket that and move on with new demands without batting an eye. extremists just move the goal posts;

    – why do we believe that the content of these stolen emails has not been doctored by the authors who clearly have an agenda;

    – the media will milk the email situation and the antics of the BS revolutionaries for ratings and a story line of chaos;

    I am waiting for FLOTUS’ speech today and Sen Warren and that is where my monday ends
