but what did they revolutionize ? I still don’t understand what the revolution was about. They’ve mentioned nothing that Barack Obama didn’t already propose.. and Congress/repubs refused to move on.

      July 25, 2016 at 11:09 pm

Exactly my point Sherijr! It’s like the black guy did nothing. Like PBO never proposed those same issues before. I’ll be glad when I don’t have to listen to Bernie and his group anymore!

        July 25, 2016 at 11:11 pm

every single thing he says as you say, has been proposed by POTUS and refused by repubs in Congress. Bernie never seems to mention that, its not right of him to do that. Glad he’s on his way out. And he is.

Yep, emperor no clothes imo. I just don’t understand this great love these folks have for him. Is it that he, as a white man proposing POTUS’ ideas is easier for them to hear/swallow/appreciate. ?

              July 26, 2016 at 12:17 am

I think the Bernie followers really do not follow politics that closely so think all these things Bernie says in a cranky angry voice are newly voiced. The MSM has not done a good job of broadcasting PBO’s speeches and policies. I also do not think his followers know most of these things have been voted on in Congress or are being blocked by the GOP. He acts like this is new using the words “revolution”. I think his thirty years in Congress and doing nothing to further his ideals show how he does not know how to lead a revolution.

        • July 25, 2016 at 11:54 pm

And Bernie knows the Truth because he is a member of Congress. He has witnessed, first-hand, the right wing GOP obstructionism of all the progressive things president Obama proposed, which were either blocked or never acted on. What really pisses me off by the “holier than thou progressives” is the fact that they blame President Obama for the transgressions of the Republicans. It’s as if they think a president of United States can act as a dictator without regard to Congress and the Courts. Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between the behavior of the “tea baggers” and the “purity progressives” Bernie supporters.

well, nath, I can’t tell the difference πŸ˜‰ convinced they’re mostly repubs! But you are so right about Bernie and Congress.. he basically stole POTUS’ ideas and acted like he thunk ’em up all on his own and his followers swallowed it hook line and sinker.

I am overwhelmed with tears about her leaving. I waited all day and night for people to thank President Obama and Michelle for all that they’ve done, and so, so few even mentioned them. Her graciousness in her unstinting support for HRC had me in tears. I am sad, angry and thankful all at once. Sad that they’re leaving; angry that they (the Dems) haven’t hardly thanked him for all that he’s done and thankful that HRC and Kaine will be able to preserve his legacy when they win the WH.

      July 25, 2016 at 11:31 pm

      GE sherijr.

IIRC, PBO submitted a request for free community college — that the demands of this century require 14 years of schooling, not just K-12.

Congress, of course, hasn’t approved a budget (and probably won’t do so before Nov election), and PBO has made a point of saying that one of the reasons 2-year and 4-year college costs have soared is because states have diverted education spending in favor of funding prisons. 😦

Attempted response to you, but think WP rejected it… trying again (hopefully not a duplicate):

IIRC, PBO requested that Congress make community college free, that 14 years of education is needed in the 21st century.

eh, he said the right things that mattered as far as supporting Hillary. Far as his revolution is concerned it’s malarkey. He just snatched what POTUS had already proposed to Congress. If folks paid attention, they’d know this. Maybe he learned something, maybe he’ll go back to Congress and do more in his remaining years than he’s accomplished previously. I think he said the right things to his followers though. I’ll never like him, but I doubt it was easy for him to let go. Although I find it very bizarre that any of this was allowed to carry on to appease him and them.

To hear MSNBC pukes all of a sudden “discover” Michelle Obama through tonight’s powerful speech is making me gag. Even Chuck Todd is giving her credit for it. Like he never heard her speak before (like he never actually listened, probably).

But I will say that even the weird Steve Schmidt of McCain-Palin fame actually just said her speech was “one for the ages” and joked “it was so good, maybe we’ll see it again at the next Republican convention.” Good for him.

Tonight, I will certaintyly be bold in speaking out more boldly with an attitude of gratefulness so that I will speak more boldly in front of those who feel no need to appreciate our First Lady. I am so grateful that we here at TOD worked so hard to knock on doors, make phone calls, and donate to the campaign to get a great president and FLOTUS in the WH. H Z

the FLOTUS and senator warren speeches were one of the best 1-2 punch political speeches i’ve ever seen. such perfect complements to each other which defused all the media build-up to drama. of course all of that only works because of the “no drama obama” leadership and consistency for all these years. brilliant. just brilliant. never seen anything quite like it.

A great night of speeches – watched Sen Al Franken (very funny). Sarah Silverman started the pivot to HRC for the berniedolts, then A very good rousing speech by Sen Cory Booker, which I thought set the tone for FLOTUS. She knocked it out of the park. Sen Warren was a good speech stating the Party’s objectives quite clearly. Sen Sanders finally got around to backing HRC. I have to admit early on in his speech, it appeared he was going to dissent. All’s well that ends well, and Sen Sanders support tonite for HRC has been the most forthrite expression of support.
