Most of the phony polls you see coming out from the networks weight a hugely disproportionate Independent vote, sometimes equal or more. So this may be much more realistic.

Meta, if you’re doing a state poll and don’t get the registration statistics, everything you do is bogus, as you know. It’s just lazy and fraudulent to make up the numbers. PA is a majority Dem state thanks to Phillie, Pittsburgh and other urban areas like Scranton, Reading, Lancaster City and Harrisburg.

        • July 28, 2016 at 2:30 pm

Yes, thanks. Unfortunately, the media desire for clicks and profit has infiltrated polling agencies. Most of them are not worth a cent. And besides, as we all know all too well, there is only ONE poll that makes a bit of difference and that’s the voting booth at your local polling place.

I guess this could be considered “Black Privilege”, where you can ignore or discard all those that paved a way for you and your parents from their fight for the right to vote, live anywhere, love anyone (before 1967 Loving vs VA it was illegal to “get mixed”), get a mortgage anywhere you wanted (red lining), or be a successful entertainer and be on television without being discriminated against. Now that he and others who think like him, do not give their success a 2nd thought as long as they have “fans” of all races who make them rich by buying their music and watching them on teevee, he thinks this is just normal and he did this all on his own.

Ugh! What the fuck is he even talking about? The sheer ignorance is stunning, he’s intellectually lazy. He doesn’t want to know shit, he doesn’t care to know shit. He should at least care about the very people that buy his music. People died trying to gain the right to vote so that this little shit can spout nonsense. Shit like this pisses me off more than anything, people like this think that there was no sacrifice made so that they could have the opportunity to do what they do. The speed at which someone like this can flippantly throw away their right to vote. This motherfucker is a traitor to the very people that laid down their life for him. FUCK YOU BOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ashley Judd:

“I’ve known Donald for 15, 17 years? I’m friends with someone who married into the family. Anyway, I would bump into him at the U.S. Open, for example, and I think I can say the amount of time he has spent looking at my chest rather than my face is proportional to his insanity and functionality,” she said.

“If I may, this is what it’s like to talk to Donald Trump.” Judd stopped and stared pointedly at my chest. “He’s a chest gazer, a breast gazer, let’s be more specific—and, referring to the person who at that time was married into the family, he just sexualized her. ‘Doesn’t she look great? Doesn’t she look—?’ He’s just revolting.”

You might be onto something, Judith, Trump might back out of the debates. I wouldn’t be surprised if it he did, he doesn’t have any ideas to speak of, he’s belligerent and up until yesterday I didn’t know that he was a mouth-breather.

Hi, Judith – Trump didn’t show his tax returns, as is the normal path … so why not say he won’t debate “Crooked Hillary” until she releases her missing e-mails, etc., or some fictitious reason? He declined one debate during the primary … anything’s possible.

I think he is running scared right now, although I may be in the minority.

Just watched a very interesting interview on CSPAN of Linwood Holton, Tim Kaine’s father-in-law, former Republican governor of Virginia who integrated the states schools, sending his daughter Ann (Tim’s wife) to a predominately black public school.

Can’t find video of it online yet. Looks like the interview was done today. I’ll post as soon as I find it.

I just don’t understand how Trump can be allowed to remain in the race after the Putin comments yesterday. It’s very frustrating that he was running at all without ever holding a political office, but in the face of those comments it seems that drastic measures need to be taken now instead of letting the political process take it’s course. Or let it run it’s course with Hillary, Johnson and Stein. Can the Republican Party be disqualified from having a candidate if they incite treason?

    • 52 0388jojothecat
      July 28, 2016 at 2:39 pm

I think our Democracy prevents anyone from doing anything other than the voters NOT voting for him. If the person meets the limited eligible requirements to running for president, anyone one could run even a convicted murderer, rapist, racist, mentally ill, etc.

We need a Congress and intelligent people to change our immigration rules or we could see a person born to wealthy Chinese parents, they’re born in the USA while their mother was here on a visitors visa, raised in China, move to the USA at 21yrs old and run for president after living here for 14yrs. It doesn’t have to be China, it could be Russia, or any country (except Mexico unless they are a republican)
      where this is happening now.

Requirements for President of the United States

Qualifications for presidential candidates have remained the same since the year Washington accepted the presidency. As directed by the Constitution, a presidential candidate must be a natural born citizen of the United States, a resident for 14 years, and 35 years of age or older.

  21. July 28, 2016 at 2:27 pm

I thought this was another great thought from PBO’s speech…regarding the negative attacks on HRC…

    “…She knows sometimes during those 40 years she’s made mistakes;
    just like I have;
    just like we *all* do.
That’s what happens when we try.
That’s what happens when you’re the kind of citizen Teddy Roosevelt once described…
not the timid souls that criticize from the sidelines, but someone who is actually in the arena…
    who strives valiantly…
    who errs,
but who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement…”

    • July 28, 2016 at 3:43 pm

That was a great analogy, about those who are “in the arena, struggling valiantly.” It takes courage and faith to “be in the arena.’ Few can do it like President Obama and Hillary.

    This Is Change

    July 28, 2016By Taegan Goddard0 Comments
Charles Pierce: “On stage a young black man, the president of the United States, warmly embraced an older white woman in front of god and all the world. It is now an iconic photograph. If it had occurred on a weed-choked street in Mississippi within the lifetime of many of the people who were cheering the moment, the young man might have been beaten, burned, hung, thrown into a river with a cotton fan tied to his neck. A song began to rise through the history of the moment:

The Republicans aren’t really upset at Trump, they are only upset that he took the conversation out of the “quiet rooms” that Romney talked about and took the conversation to the public square.

  25. July 28, 2016 at 2:39 pm

I don’t know whether to laugh or just shake my head…

…in Cleveland, Trump Jr. said: “There’s so much work to do. We will not accept the current state of our country because it’s too hard to change. That’s not the America I know. We’re going to unleash the creative spirit and energy of all Americans. We’re going to make our schools the best in the world for every single American of every single ethnicity and background.”

On Wednesday, Obama said: “What we heard in Cleveland last week wasn’t particularly Republican, and it sure wasn’t conservative. What we heard was a deeply pessimistic vision of a country where we turn against each other and turn away from the rest of the world. There were no serious solutions to pressing problems, just the fanning of resentment and blame and anger and hate. And that is not the America I know. The America I know is full of courage, and optimism, and ingenuity. The America I know is decent and generous.”

Trump Jr.’s accusation of Obama of plagiarizing the line, “That is not the America I know”…

    ———

Has he never heard PBO use the phrase “That is not the America I know”? If anything, *he’s* the one plagiarizing?

“That’s not the America I know.” Is as recognizable as an Obama phrase used time and time again as “Don’t boo, VOTE!”

Donald Jr. apparently has the same disease of being a compulsive liar as his Dad or it is just a strategy to accuse the other side of what you are doing and hope your audience is not aware or care about the facts. It is notable that those who dote on Limbaugh and Fox News do not think for themselves, but are ditto heads exclusively listening to conservative propaganda so will think Jr is correct.

My God, SW, is there no limit to the stupidity and arrogance of the Trump family? President Obama has used this line repeatedly over the years when there has been gun violence, church arson or some kind of ethnic, racial/religious bigotry has been stirred. The Trump family, living in their comfortable bubble, don’t have any interest in or respect for anyone else in the world, so they think they invented everything themselves.

It’s difficult to take those polls seriously, because the number of “unsure” is always pretty high. There are people who really haven’t decided yet, but there are also a good portion of people who prefer privacy and don’t want to say who they’re voting for .
