Someone needs to tell the reporters waiting outside of the door that there is a hot mike in their area which is picking up all of their stupid comments. One, a male, said the White House should be more 21st century and painted fushia.

Serves McCain right. If he had done the right thing, Trumps tantrums wouldn’t have mattered a great deal. He has been making really cynical decisions, and that lack of spine has now bitten him in the behind. Ditto with the House policy wonk. LOL!!!

    Judd Legum ‏@JuddLegum
    1. This election is a hot mess but today has been a fascinating game of political tactics
    2. Trump’s attacks on the Khans risk major long term damage to the GOP brand. Forced establishment to ramp up criticism.
    3. Both Ryan and McCain signaled, to various degrees, that they may withdraw their endorsement at some point if this keeps up.
    4. So Trump goes out preemptively, and announces that HE doesn’t support Ryan or McCain.
    5. This is the equivalent of Trump saying: “You aren’t breaking up with me, I’m breaking up with you.”
    7. Now, if Ryan withdraws his endorsement it looks petty. He tolerated the attacks on a gold star family but not himself.
    8. Enter Obama, who is playing this perfect.
    9. He’s advising all Republicans to withdraw their endorsement from Trump, effectively making it impossible to do so.
    10. So you have Trump and Obama working in concert to lock people like Ryan and McCain into their endorsement of Trump. Fascinating.
    11. Ryan and other top Republicans had a plan to nominally endorse Trump and then at the end say “I opposed everything he stood for.”
    12. Ryan’s plan is completely falling apart. Trump’s conduct is too outrageous to politely disagree with. Also, Trump won’t play along.

JPMorgan Pays Inmates for Fees on Get-Out-of-Jail Debit Card
    August 2, 2016 — 3:17 PM EDT

JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s contract to provide debit cards to inmates released from federal prison may have backfired after a former convict raised a ruckus.

The bank agreed to pay a total of $446,822 to thousands of ex-prisoners to settle a class-action suit claiming JPMorgan ripped them off with $10 fees to withdraw money from a teller window and $2 charges for using non-network ATMs, according to a filing on Monday in federal court in Philadelphia.

JPMorgan’s contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons was a scheme “to exploit one of the most vulnerable groups imaginable — releasees from federal corrections facilities,” according to the complaint. “Every cent counts for federal releasees who are coming out of prison without an immediate means of income.”

Chris Hayes such a hypocrite. He can’t believe how Hillary Clinton rushed into to signing on to Iraq. He was one of the main people who forced her into a more “progressive” platform that she’ll not be able to push through the house, then they’ll turn on her.

POTUS ON TPP: Well, right now, I’m President, and I’m for it. And I think I’ve got the better argument.

Remarks by President Obama and Prime Minister Lee of Singapore in Joint Press Conference

    Jordan Fabian.

Q Thank you, Mr. President. You’re here today touting the Trans-Pacific Partnership, but Hillary Clinton is against it. Her vice presidential nominee, Tim Kaine, has now reversed himself and is now against it. Donald Trump is, too, meaning that the next President is opposed to this deal. So my question is, if you take both candidates at their word, how do you plan to get Congress to pass this deal during the lame duck, and what’s your plan to convince members to do so given the opposition I just described?
    .
    .
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Well, right now, I’m President, and I’m for it. And I think I’ve got the better argument. And I’ve made this argument before; I’ll make it again. We are part of a global economy. We’re not reversing that. It can’t be reversed, because it is driven by technology, and it is driven by travel and cargo containers, and the fact that the demand for products inside of our country means we’ve got to get some things from other places, and our export sector is a huge contributor to jobs and our economic wellbeing. Most manufactured products now involve a global supply chain where parts are made in all corners of the globe, and converge and then get assembled and packaged and sold. And so the notion that we’re going to pull that up root and branch is unrealistic. Point number one.

OMG, I just got an emergency call for Donald Trump. It started with him saying Hillary is going to release all these criminals and our only hope is Donald Trump. If I give $25 I get a bumper sticker and if I am able and give $1000 I get a photo personally signed by Donald Trump. I was laughing the whole way thru it. We have always been registered Democrats. Not sure why we got the call. They are really desperate.

    Hmmmm…..

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/carter-page-trump-russia_us_57a0f329e4b0693164c2fb41

Just days before Republicans adopted a new, more Russia-friendly plank into their party platform, one of Donald Trump’s top advisers visited Moscow in July to deliver speeches criticizing decades of U.S. foreign policy.

Global energy investor Carter Page joined Trump’s team in March. Since then, Page has criticized U.S.-Russia policy in a number of public speeches, and repeatedly expressed his hope that a closer relationship between the two nations might be possible with Trump in the White House.

“Washington and other Western capitals have impeded potential progress through their often hypocritical focus on ideas such as democratization, inequality, corruption, and regime change,” Page said last month during a commencement speech at a Moscow economics graduate school.

Page also suggested the United States should ease economic sanctions imposed on Russia following its 2014 incursion into Ukraine and Crimea, which was condemned in an overwhelming vote in the United Nations. In exchange for sanctions relief, Page said, American companies might be invited to partner with Russian firms to exploit Russia’s oil and gas fields.
