She also claimed that 10’s of thousands of our soldiers were killed and that 1 million have been wounded.

Both are 100 % not true. Did they challenge her on that outrageous statement too, or let it slide ?

  5. August 3, 2016 at 1:21 pm

She will make a totally wonderful film!

Isn’t it ironic that the GOP practice of totally obstructing PBO, has engendered such extreme partisanship and hatred, that is now consuming the party.

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving party. They need to totally implode and rebuild themselves to a more inclusive and tolerant party, and if they can’t manage to do that, they will be relegated to the dustbin of history. Meanwhile, we move FORWARD.

Courtesy of Republicans in Congress that only want to spend $$ on pet projects and THEIR paychecks…nothing for American people!

    http://www.epi.org/blog/worst-recovery-in-post-war-era-largely-explained-by-cuts-in-government-spending/

In a story in the Wall Street Journal last Friday, reporter Eric Morath notes that the recovery from the Great Recession has been historically slow. “In terms of average annual growth,” he writes, “the pace of this expansion has been by far the weakest of any since 1949.” Missing from this story is the fact that our historically weak recovery has been accompanied by historically deep cuts in government spending. The figure below compares the strength of expansion for each recovery since 1949 with changes in government spending (it includes data on the strength of each expansion, as reported by Morath). You can see that almost every other recovery was accompanied by an increase in federal, state, and local government spending.

      Hello all.

GOP contribution to the “slow” recovery:

Met on inauguration night January 2009 and vowed to say no to every proposal by PBO
Instituted the 60 plus Senators vote rule for every vote
Cut 2009 Stimulus by a quarter
Governors etc refused high speed rail and other projects
Kept cutting Gov’t payrolls and projects
Kept threatening to raise the debt ceiling and forced a sequester that slowed the recovery and cut programs
Refused to pass the Jobs Act 2011
More threats on defaulting on the debt causing slowdown in economic activity.
      The list goes on.

O/T (or not)… Has there been any indication or proof that DT forgave the *loans* he made to his primary campaign? This was supposed to have happened a month or so ago; right?

They didn’t appear on his latest filing as a debt to the campaign – I gather (from the media) this indicated they were forgiven.

More and more I’m having a hard time distinguishing what is reality and what is satire. The things DT and his surrogates do and say are so out there that I’m constantly wondering, “Is this for real?” or “Is this a joke?” Sad that this is what the GOP has made a part of US politics.

This issue (from six months ago) dominated the WHPC briefing today. Josh Earnest was not having it. The jackals obliged the GOP by parroting their objections, so called concerns and conspiracy theories. It was clearly an attempt to create a shiny object to distract attention from Trumps terrible, horrible, no good, very bad campaign.

Found this in the comments at Washington Monthly:

    Once more, with feeling:

    There is no reasonable Trump.
    There is no presidential Trump.
    There is no conciliatory Trump.
    There is no kind Trump.
    There is no thoughtful Trump.
    There is no other Trump.

    There is. Only. Trump.

Since 2010, nearly 300 United States residents have applied or been referred for jobs as waiters, waitresses, cooks and housekeepers there. But according to federal records, only 17 have been hired.

In all but a handful of cases, Mar-a-Lago sought to fill the jobs with hundreds of foreign guest workers from Romania and other countries….

But he has also pursued more than 500 visas for foreign workers at Mar-a-Lago since 2010, according to the United States Department of Labor, while hundreds of domestic applicants failed to get the same jobs.

And clearly, Trump didn’t want to find them [American workers]. Which means that, in his own words, he is guilty of gaming the system to “replace any worker with cheaper foreign labor”; he is guilty of “job theft”; and he is guilty of indulging the “legal right to pass over Americans, displace Americans, or directly replace Americans for good-paying middle class jobs.”

A Georgia Republican is threatening to not vote for Donald Trump in the Electoral College.

“I have the right to vote for a write-in candidate in the electoral college,” Baoky Vu told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Wednesday.

Georgia is one of 21 states that do not require its electors to follow the results of its popular vote, according to the paper.

“Rather than earning the American people’s respect and trust through the duration of the past year, Donald Trump’s antics and asinine behavior has cemented my belief that he lacks the judgment, temperament and gravitas to lead this nation,” he continued.

Vu said Trump’s recent feud with the parents of a Muslim U.S. soldier killed in Iraq has convinced him the billionaire is unfit for the presidency.

Khizr Khan, the father of a Muslim U.S. soldier who was killed in the Iraq War, said he is done giving interviews after a week in the national spotlight blasting Donald Trump.

“Enough is enough,” he told CNN on Tuesday night. “We are not going to participate in this tit for tat.”

Khizr Khan said on Tuesday he is satisfied he has delivered his message.

“I want to leave it here. Let the rest of them, the politicians, hash it out,” he said.

        Bless this man and his family. They have been subjected to far more than anyone should be expected to endure. I totally support his desire to leave the spotlight and return, if he can, to “normal life”. Probably will take a while for the spotlight to move on to something else, but one can only hope it is sooner rather than later. {{{Kahn family}}}
