    Wow, what a speech by the President of the United States. Yes Trump I said it, the President of the United States. POTUS and FLOTUS walk on that stage after the tribute to them, I am so proud of them.

      President Obama can rally the troops like none other. His words help was to keep things in perspective and keep us from going off the deep end in response to the noise and nonsense that we get (primarily) via the MSM.

      I will cherish his time watching him on the campaign trail for HRC. It is a reminder of why we love, appreciate, and respect him so much and why we will be sad when his presidency comes to an end.

    A powerful speech to all of us tonight coming from our great President. Tears flooding when he asked all of us who really want to give his departure one to be remembered , “VOTE” VOTE! Let us give him the best going away celebration ever. We can do this. HZ

    Wow, whenever I think he can’t do anymore he tops himself again! Amazing speech, and I was expecting basically a repeat from the other night but totally different. And FLOTUS was simply stunning. But I was leaking tears at the end thinking of the end of their term. It is going to be so hard to see them go.

      Just coming online – totally missed the President’s speech, but will definitely catch up! Thank you, Nerdy W!

      Watching the coverage of the explosion in NYC – apparently (early report) 26 people were injured, none life-threatening. Also think I heard there was an explosion at the Jersey shore earlier today, which may or may not be connected.

        it seems a lot of speculation is going on now.

        the official account for the NYP Terrorism Task Force is just reporting the number of injuries;

        it appears we may have to wait for more accurate details to be released later

    for a moment, I had forgotten that the next week is one in which the heads of state will be at the UN in New York.

    POTUS is set to give his final address to UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

    so given these events and how close we are to the election, you can expect the media to into Ebola-like hysteria about tonight’s explosion in Chelsea – hope I am wrong about the hysteria

      Mayor says the first explosion in NYC was “an intentional act.” Nothing announced on the second, yet.

      as with every other incident, we are cautioned to always wait for the facts;

      from some of the tweets, it seems this caution had been abandoned and speculation is the way they have gone

      That’s exactly how I feel. But I have two big dogs (Boxer and mixed Boxer) and one African grey parrot and two budgies. Don’t know how I would carry them all in an emergency.

  59. September 18, 2016 at 8:40 am

    Trump held a campaign rally late Saturday evening in Colorado Springs and used his remarks as an attempt to spin the explosion in New York City as a justification for his obscene policy proposals, saying that “We’ve got to get very tough.”

    New Yorkers on the scene or near the scene of the explosion were not about to let Trump get away with exploiting the shock to their community for his own campaign purposes, with many taking to Twitter to denounce the presidential candidate.
