    Here’s a good article on Russian S-300 & s-400 missile systems and what America has to defeat them-
    These were recently deployed in Syria…

    He is so fit (body, mind, and soul). Gray hair and all, he will leave his presidency with his physical, mental, emotional and moral health intact. He will have an influence, here and abroad, for years to come. So much to admire about him, but one of the major things that he did for many of us who had become cynical about politics and for the younger generation that will take our place, is to show that a person of principle, from an everyday background, can be elected and can serve with intelligence, honor, and effectiveness even when one has little support from the traditional avenues. God bless his soul because He has certainly blessed us by giving us the gift of Barack :2nd of his name, called “Blessed” and Black Eagle and “he who serves the people across the land,”; son of Ann and Barack Sr., loving husband of Michelle, joyful father of Malia and Sasha, and the 44th president of the United States of America.

    So looking forward to seeing where PBO’s approval ratings are a week from now:-) I predicted months ago by the time of the election he would be approaching 60% although I thought that might be a little optimistic. So going to miss this man and his lovely family. I’m happy he has this weekend in ChiTown, away from the maddening crowd of Washington.

    Can’t imagine how the debate tomorrow night will play out. But Trump’s apology last night sounded to me like a caged bull ready to rampage and I have no doubt Hillary will bring her matador’s cape. If he implodes, we just might have a shot at both the Senate and House. A Republican strategist here thinks there is a 30% chance she could flip TX. This was never Trump country in the way other states were, it was Cruz country although he is shrinking here.

    President Obama Addresses His “Disappointed” Critics on the Left
    by Nancy LeTourneau October 3, 2016

    The line making headlines from Jonathan Chait’s interview with Obama is – of course – related to the 2016 election. The president said:

    “I see a straight line from the announcement of Sarah Palin as the vice-presidential nominee to what we see today in Donald Trump, the emergence of the Freedom Caucus, the tea party, and the shift in the center of gravity for the Republican Party.”

    But whether it was Chait’s or Obama’s intention, what struck me about the entire interview was that it addressed so many of the concerns raised by the “disappointed” left about his presidency. Let’s take a look at some of them.

    …………………….
    …………………………..

    What is perhaps most interesting is that Obama brings this last one right back to the first critique addressed above and ties continued progress to the need to work with Congress.

    “I’ll make this last point. On all the issues we’ve discussed, but certainly on these issues of war and peace, the need for a more effective Congress and the desirability of legislation as the best solution to most of these problems remains…

    If there’s one wish that I have for future presidents, it’s not an imperial presidency, it is a functional, sensible majority-and-opposition being able to make decisions based on facts and policy and compromise. That would have been my preference for the majority of my presidency. It was an option that wasn’t always available. But I hope the American people continue to understand that that’s how the system should work.”

    In a very profound way, President Obama wants to let us know that where we go from here is up to us.

    Yesterday when VP Biden said that DT speaks the words of an “abuser,” it resonated with a lot of women I know. A friend endured eight years of an abusive marriage in which she lived in terror until she got the courage to leave. She said that she started shivering with fear when she heard DT’s remarks and all the old feelings came back. Someone else I know who was abused and beaten as a child had similar feelings. Every word that comes from that odious creature running for president is a form of abuse that must not be tolerated. He must be beaten to the electoral ground on November 8 and never heard from again.

Not just the right but the whiny left …that left him high and dry when he needed us the most. Remember those 2010 midterm elections when “you” wanted to show him how angry you were? He always had our back, “we” …not always.     these vote-stealing laws were cheered on by a hate-filled base that thought that such vote stealing would never happen to them;

  42. October 9, 2016 at 7:39 am

    I wonder why this is getting little to no mention on the MSM…I note that the trial date has been pushed out yet again.

    This is the third attempt the plaintiff has made in filing this particular lawsuit. Last Friday, she filed an amended complaint, with a new “witness” named “Joan Doe.” The plaintiff and witnesses in the case are using pseudonyms, they say, to protect their identities.

    “In the 1994-95 school year, I was told by the plaintiff in Jane Doe v. Trump and Epstein (1:16-cv-04642, SDNY) that the plaintiff was subject to sexual contact by the Defendants at parties in New York City during the summer of 1994,” one of the witnesses said in a declaration.

    The complaint alleges billionaire convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein had a woman pickup teenage girls for his famous parties. One of these girls was “Jane.” Another witness, “Tiffany,” who also provided an affidavit in the lawsuit, said she witnessed Trump and Epstein rape the plaintiff several times. Trump has repeatedly denied the allegations.

    • October 9, 2016 at 7:45 am

      If my own Facebook feed is any indication, millions of misguided Americans are lining up to defend Trump and dismiss his p***y-grabbing comments for one inane reason or another. Yet, when it came to Cosby, an almost universally-beloved figure, the public was quick to re-cast him as the ultimate villain. Maybe it’s because Cosby is a black man and an underlying current of racism propelled the public’s willingness believe he was a criminal. Maybe it’s because Cosby wasn’t running for president, so those who turned on him weren’t forced to question their own ideologies as a result of doing so. Either way, though, the similarities are striking. And even more striking are the differences. So much about the rape allegations against Trump is more disturbing than those against Cosby.

      Trump’s statute of limitations drama is actually far more unusual. Trump’s anonymous accuser has alleged that the Donald raped her back in 1994, when she was thirteen, and that the 20-year statute of limitations never even started running. Ms. Doe argues that the statute is “tolled” because Trump threatened her. Sidebar: tolling statutes of limitation is standard practice in a variety of instances. For example, if a plaintiff is a minor when a cause of action arises, that statute could be stopped (or “tolled”) until the potential plaintiff reaches the age of majority. The same concept works when a plaintiff is incarcerated or is mentally disabled. The concept of tolling is to hit “pause” on a lawsuit for the purpose of effectuating fairness to disadvantaged plaintiff. Statutes of limitation are also tolled when their reason for suing is obscured (as in the case of a medical malpractice victim who does not discover a surgical tool accidentally left inside him until years after the wrongdoing actually happened) or when they are prevented from bringing suit for some other reason. That’s this plaintiff’s sweet spot.

      According to the plaintiff, Trump threatened to harm or even kill her and her family if she came forward with any accusations:

    They haven’t endorsed a Democrat for president since Woodrow Wilson in 1916.

    For us, the choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is not pleasant, but it isn’t difficult. Republican candidate Donald Trump is unfit to be president of the United States. Democrat Hillary Clinton, despite her flaws, is well-equipped for the job.

    The Dispatch traditionally has endorsed Republican presidential candidates, but Trump does not espouse or support traditional Republican values, such as fiscal prudence, limited government and free trade, not to mention civility and decency. We are disappointed that so many Republican leaders have accommodated a narcissistic, morally bankrupt candidate who is so clearly out of step with those values.

    //

    But her negatives pale when measured against the dangers posed by Trump.

    He has proved himself a liar of epic proportion. He is a bigot, a braggart and an admirer of foreign thugs such as Russia’s Vladimir Putin. He is reckless and thin-skinned. He has demeaned Mexicans, demonized Muslims, insulted women and mocked the disabled.

    His economic policies, to the extent that they can be analyzed, would at least double the national debt. His call for punishing tariffs on foreign goods would trigger retaliation and ignite a trade war with disastrous results for employment and the standard of living in the United States.

    The stakes are too high to sit out this election and risk letting Trump misuse the awesome power of the presidency. The Dispatch urges voters to elect Hillary Clinton.
