WTF is WRONG with these people!!?? Don’t agree with someone or something, their answer is “kill it”…no room for difference of opinion or dissent. Slipped into madness….They do not care to understand that the Constitution they claim to revere, approves of Colin making his statement. It’s called FREEDOM.

    • October 16, 2016 at 4:18 pm

We have talked about this before on the diary about this notion of Free Speech = HATE Speech….so who is held accountable…if God forbid someone decided to take this tee shirt message to next level…Why are those who promote this Hate Speech in the name of “free” speech not held accountable for their words???

I mean, even for people who take the time to read through all of this, it’s still very, very confusing. I wish our elected officials just did their job and stopped a lot of this ballot initiative process. It’s gotten absurd.

BTW, I saw my first Trump commercial here last night. LOLz!!

We’ve just been through the remnants of a typhoon here in Oregon. Big branch broke off our oak tree and fell against the house, just missed knocking out a bedroom window. Flooding and downed trees everywhere. An actual tornado hit a coastal community damaging several homes and businesses. Maybe this is our future with global warming.

Stay safe; I live in Florida and we are still removing debris from felled trees and branches. It was also 5 days before full power was restored to my area here in the NE. With all of this, as you well know, the most important thing is the physical welfare of friends, family and neighbors. I have family in Seattle that I need to check on.

After the election, let us return most of the posts to the reason that it was developed in the first place: to learn about, enjoy, and appreciate the 44th President Barack Hussein Obama, his administration and his family (that we have totally adopted). Let us share our favorite photos from trips, events, and daily life. Talk about our favorite moments, leave notes of gratitude and appreciation (you know that his staff checks us out),as we bid farewell to each other as well. Let us again share our gratitude toward Chips, our founder, to NW ,the heir, who stepped in when it was sorely needed, and to all of the posters who have educated and uplifted us. This place, like the man to whom it is dedicated, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Let’s close it out together with all of the love, hope, and joy that we have shared over the years.

We all know TOD has been extensive work on the part of our BTs. It really would be *something* if we all could keep it going (even if only for a year). I suspect that would be more likely if the posting burden could actually be shared among 2 to 4 committed souls, particularly as we wont have the added inspiration of the Obamas *at our fingertips* as loving motivation. I wonder how that could work best?

No such post that I’m aware of – we are just speculating. Based, I think, on several facts; for example, the Obama Admin coming to an end, the humongous unsalaried responsibility on the shoulders of 2 people (CC & NW) who have to work otherwise, the dwindling of comments, etc. And no one gave a date, I don’t think. I figure we’ll all be here Nov 9th etc.

We had a wonderful weekend last weekend. It did rain on one day so we spent it at the hot springs, which I love. Sometimes we can go later but this year seems to be wetter and colder. Gues we have to pack it away for this year. We have had great colors. How has your fall been? This is my favorite time of year.

Wait a minute, you are speaking of fall in the past tense! My fall IS going quite well, thank you. 😉 ( I’m ignoring the chilly days we’ve been having recently. Last Thursday I actually had to put on my fall coat when I came home for lunch!!!)

We are having 50 degree days with rain. Our usual falls are warmer and not so wet. We are having 50 degree days and low 40 degree nights. That is unheard of for us. We usually have warmer in the day and colder at night. Not sure what to make of this. We even had to turn on our furnace. We usually wait till the end of October. But we know there is no climate change.

Also want to thank you for always posting the Dept of Interior tweets. I just love their pictures. Trying to stay up to watch the President on Colbert. Don’t usually stay up this late. But for PBO I will.

Just saw a horrible report on my newsfeed that the GOP headquarters office in North Carolina was firebombed; no one was there at the time, thank God. However, I mostly believe that a GOPer did this when they realize that they are loosing the state and this is away to turn people from voting for democrats. Usually I am not a conspiracy minded person, but much of this stinks to high heaven. There have been peaceful marches, demonstrations, and GOTV efforts in NC for at least two years and now less than a month before the election there is this type of violence? I hope that cooler heads prevail all around and that the culprit is caught soon.

Haven’t heard any serious bombshells yet from the thousands of hacked email that have been released. HRC was making a point about the double standards by not releasing the transcripts.

With less than 100 days to go, this photograph was made during an economic meeting during the first 100 days in early 2009. It was during this period when the President with his aides was making the necessary decisions to pull the country out of the recession. This room–the Roosevelt Room–was used almost every day, weekends included, throughout the early months of the administration for meetings with his economic advisers. Pete Souza

If you’re on Instagram, check out Pete Souza’s feed. For the last few days, he’s been feeling a bit nostalgic and posting gorgeous photos that represent PBO’s finest hours. It’s a beautiful tribute.

  18. October 16, 2016 at 5:44 pm

Why his surrogates continue to try to explain/defend what he says is beyond me. When all this is over, the money they’re getting paid will go for a stint in rehab.

And literally hours after those media appearances, Trump was back on Twitter ― making clear that, yes, he thought voter fraud was a real threat to the election’s legitimacy.

For a candidate who is trying to present himself as being tough on trade, revelations like this say a lot about Donald Trump and completely undermine his candidacy.

Donald Trump is profiting off of the very unfair trade deals he now claims to oppose, and this is nothing new for him. He claims to want to bring jobs back to America, but his Trump suit line is manufactured overseas, his furniture line is manufactured in Turkey and his neckties are manufactured in China.

Senator Sherrod Brown from Ohio was correct when he named several Donald Trump products made abroad in his speech at the Democratic National Convention.

Trump claims that he wants to “Make America Great” for small businesses, but has denied his employees fair wages and vocally supported wage-destroying policies. He talks tough on trade, but how can voters be expected to give the benefit of the doubt to someone with such a long history of destroying manufacturing jobs?

Are they still running mates???? A lot of contradicting going on.

Pence said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that there is “more and more evidence that implicates Russia” and called on the Obama administration to take action against Moscow.

That stands in contrast to Trump’s claims that those saying Russia is to blame are really trying to disparage the Republican presidential ticket.

How do we respond to threats after our endorsement? This is how
    Mi-Ai Parrish, The Republic | azcentral.com 10:47 a.m. MST October 16, 2016
    ____________________________________________________________________
What is the correct response to these threats? Today, I offer you a few.

As someone who has spent a career in the business of words, it’s unusual to find myself speechless.

Yet, there I was, a little more than two weeks ago.

What is the correct response, really, to this?

    YOU’RE DEAD. WATCH YOUR BACK.

    WE WILL BURN YOU DOWN.

YOU SHOULD BE PUT IN FRONT OF A FIRING SQUAD AS A TRAITOR.

How did I come to be hearing these threats?

    The endorsement question we faced

More than a year ago, The Republic’s editorial board began taking a stand against the actions and positioning of Donald Trump. In piece after piece, we made it clear that his principles weren’t conservative. They were bad for the party, bad for Arizona, dangerous for America.

But in its more than 125 years, The Republic had never endorsed a Democrat for president. So, over the many months of the campaign, we found ourselves with this question: Endorse no one, or endorse a Democrat for the first time in our history?

We made our choice soberly. We knew it would be unpopular with many people. We knew that, although we had clearly stated our objections to Trump, it would be a big deal for a conservative editorial board in a conservative state to break ranks from the party.

We chose patriotism over party. We endorsed the Democrat.

And then the reaction started pouring in. Threats against our business. Threats against our people.

    So, what is the response?

What is the correct response to any of the vile threats against me? What is the correct response to the more disturbing actions and words directed against so many others?

I’ve thought about those responses a lot. Today, I offer you a few.

……………………………………………. [Follow the link to see the responses. I don’t think you will be sorry you did.] ……………….

Remember he got the guy across the aisle on the plane from the first accuser to say he did not notice anything going on? He also got his butler to say the reporter at Mira Lago was wrong. I imagine bribing white guys was not hard for him and their testifying against the women was the proof he mentioned.
