Meta, can you just imagine the media frenzy if the political director of either PBO’s campaigns or Hillary’s had withdrawn at this point in the election calendar? For the orange one, outrageous events are so commonplace people can’t even keep up with them.

Exactly. No one even blinks at this stuff. I mean, this guy has nothing but scraps for a “campaign” and he gets a pass every single day. Ludicrous.

I just listened to Obama’s first Al Smith dinner and was very impressed. I heard it at the time of course, but had forgotten how good he was and RESPECTFUL. His genuine respect for his opponents was inspiring. However, he would not have held that same respect for Trump, and Hillary is doing an amazing job keeping her head up and going forward with the help of the Obamas, Bidens, Bernie, and her own family. Thus Together we are Stronger.

Funny watching the livestream. Hillary is smiling, engaged in conversation with the Cardinal and gentleman to her right; several of the audience have come to the table to greet her. trumpty and Melonia are sitting there like they have a stick stuck up there azz… finally, Rudy came to speak with them for a second; now they are back to flipping through their programs. The trumps barely engage each other in conversation…

    Wish the program would start.

He was booed – after starting OK, he turned it into a campaign speech. Like many republicans, but more than most – he does not understand humor. His staff – if they wrote the speech are a disaster – but much of it probably came from his own small brain.

It’s weird – but it is no fun watching a train wreck sink lower and lower. His brain cannot comprehend that the love of the media and the primary voters was before they knew anything about who he is. That is the fault of the media and the primary voters – they took him at face value – Hillary Clinton did not.

Hillary was good. During the 2008 campaign season, as much as I hated her, I had to give her credit for the zinger against PBO and us OBots in her Providence RI speech. sorry it offends… Even PBO found it humorous, mocking but humorous. He laughed and talked about it on the trail; said she had a point, and used it as a springboard to tie in the fact that he can’t do it alone, that it is hard work that involves us holding his and congress feet to the fire.

Sometimes we need to step back, hear what our detractors are saying, take that info and use it to defeat them…

      GM Alycee.

Couldn’t watch the entire video, especially after this deplorable campaign season.

My only comment: she wasn’t as hard on Berniebots as she was on Barack Obama, and her husband’s (deplorable) attacks on then-Senator Obama did not help.

Can’t help but think of the difference between her restraint against (white) Senators Sanders versus her scathing sarcasm against (non-white) then-Senator Obama, so no, can’t watch the whole video.

      • October 21, 2016 at 8:48 am

GM, Arapahoe! You’re right, she was much more cordial to Bernie & the Bernbots. During the entire campaign, she’s demonstrated that she took the lessons learned from ’08 to heart. In ’08, she ran with an air of entitlement; she was totally unprepared for PBO’s steamroller…
Bill’s antics significantly contributed to her loss.

This time around, although the front runner, she’s run like the underdog and has had tighter control over Bill.

GM Alycee, hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Not a morning person, and viewing the small portion of the video made me cranky. 😦

HRC has my full support — like countless others, she has learned a GREAT DEAL from Barack Hussein Obama over the past 7 years, and is a better and more enriched person and politician because of PBO’s vision, determination, temperament and outlook.

(But still don’t want to watch the whole video — may feel differently after this abominable election is over — DJT’s done such a disservice to this country and to its journalists, but hopefully they will learn and grow from this deplorable experience.)

          • October 21, 2016 at 2:50 pm

GA, Arapaho! Not really a morning person either. I apologize for starting your day on a downer. I didn’t realize so many would still be offended by that clip…

Guess I have a thick skin and weird sense of humor. My mantra growing up was “hatred & mocking was my motivation; and success was the best revenge.” To this day, I always meet my detractors with a smile and civility — DRIVES THEM CRAZY!

Looking forward to a weekend of campaign activities. The next 18 days cannot pass fast enough… May you have a Blessed and joyous weekend!

              Great response, Alycee.

Love your posts and tweets, so I know your heart is in the right place — felt guilty after posting this, but I think it was triggered by the inundation of “news” about people who take no responsibility for their deplorable acts (DJT and surrogates) and a simmering outrage at how our media enable the white supremacists and RWNJ/conspiracy fringe by acting like bigoted and coarse behavior is a perfectly acceptable and normal part of American life.

So seeing sarcasm on steroids from HRC set me off.

Sounds like you’re gonna be BUSY for a fortnight plus. Good luck!

Clinton campaign, allies took $80 million lead into October

The Democratic candidate and her allies still have a formidable war chest even after huge spending.

Hillary Clinton and her allies started October leading the money race by some $80 million, cementing in its final phase the most lopsided race in modern campaign finance.

The Clinton campaign finished September with $59.7 million in the bank even after unleashing an $82.6 million volley, much more than in any other month of the campaign, according to a new report filed with the Federal Election Commission. Together with her joint fundraising committee and allied super PACs, the Democratic nominee had a whopping $177.9 million to start the last full month of the campaign.

Today my wife and I received our mail-in ballots. Voting is such a luxurious exercise here in Oregon compared to other states.Tomorrow I will fill out my ballot sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of tea, and with the aid of the voters guide go over all the candidates and ballot measures. Won’t take long since I’m pretty familiar with it. Pres Obama has a video endorsement out on our Democratic Governor Kate Brown. We have an important money measure to vote on Measure 97 which will help fund education with a tax on corporations. Out of state corporations which do business in Oregon have been evading taxes big time. It will be close, I hope it passes. I will send in my ballot tomorrow in the mail, happy that I can vote for Hillary and against the toxic orange blob, sending him home to his soon to be bankrupt existence.

Because PBO made campaigning and governing look so elegant, cool, and naturally effortless, many people wrongly thought that this was an easy undertaking.

now we have a situation where the one obnoxious candidate can’t even get through a speech a charity fundraiser without getting booed for his boorish behavior.

Well, I for one am incensed after watching the Al Smith speeches. Just how much does this woman have to take? He stood there in that room full of people and called her corrupt–repeatedly. Yes, I know in the end he is the one that looks the worse for it, but my god. Can you imagine ANY man having to put up with the shit she has had to endure in this campaign? I have a pretty thick skin and hold Hillary to high standards but I have reached my limit. Someone in that room should have stopped him. He jokes about imprisoning her as if this is normal. This whole thing is so far off the rails I cannot believe it. And he has the nerve to call her nasty? She looks like an angel compared to the shit he has piled on her. It is outrageous. I am so angry with entire GOP party at this point I don’t know what to do with myself. I am ready to break something, preferably Trump. The man is a despicable human being under any certain circumstances, but to be strutting around as a major party nominee for president is simply disgraceful. He has debased our politics, our country and our humanity. The entire party needs to go down in flames come November 8.

Yes, I am Linda and will keep it up. But I know from my own personal experience, after so much of this shit you start to see right past it. You accept it as part of your job, if you’re going to compete you have to be twice as good and take all the shit. At some point, enough is enough as Michelle would say. This campaign is so far out of bounds. But I am waiting to hear the MEN say it. Where are they in all of this? Do they believe they would ever be subjected to what she has gone through? Despite what he did to his opponents in the primary, it was never this bad. Not even close. Yes, she will finally break that glass ceiling, but at what cost? Is this what it is going to be like for her in the WH? The racist garbage was everywhere for the Obamas, but with the possible exception of “you lie” it was never this in your face. And the Republicans did force an apology for that. Just so sick of it. Just once, I would like to see a man in one of these public settings stand up and put a stop to it. Obviously, not going to happen.

Wow, she’s growing up fast! They are really so precious. My little Danielle is 5 and started kindergarten this year. She loves it and has also joined the soccer team where she scored TWO goals last week!! I was a bit worried about her because she can sometimes be a bit shy and overshadowed by her big sister but she has really blossomed in such a short time. Both her parents are high school teachers so she has a pretty good start in life. So grateful.

They really do bring back our faith as to what is good in people. I will be pleased when this farce is over & we can return to all that is good in our world. They grow up so quickly – 5 years old & playing soccer – do you go along and sing, dance & yell on the sideline 🙂

Nah. They live 70 miles away so I don’t get the opportunity to witness their extra-curricular activities as I’d like! But they are lovely girls and I’m very proud of how healthy and well-balanced their lives are, thanks to their parents.

Here’s joe Biden with one of jay Leno classic corvettes…

And remember jay Leno has quite a collection of antiques- it’s his hobby… His garage is just amazing and they all are running.. And he is very very knowledgeable about each car that he has.

In addition, his whole house is solar👌😉

What is Richard engle NBC doing? He’s right in the front lines with Iraqi forces in Mosul… Getting valuable jntel(I might add) for US ..
I don’t know how he gets clearance for this (it isn’t the first time) but this is how CIA gathers Intel masquerading as reporters…

You’ve got to see his new report on NBC … It’s fascinating what he’s able to do…

    Danger close…
