WTG, COS! Still figuring out where to put my energies when they return. Dress fitting for the White House Christmas party this Friday. That’s my silver lining. Seeing the White House at its most beautiful with its forever-in-our -hearts President and First Lady – Barack and Michelle Obama. They cannot be replaced!

    • November 15, 2016 at 4:24 pm

      ohhhhh you lucky luck person….

that was my dream to be in the White House at Christmas time w/ the President and First Lady….if you can …please take pics….
      when do you go…

    • November 15, 2016 at 5:58 pm

FANTASTIC! Tell us about the dress. What date are you going to the party?

        November 15, 2016 at 6:19 pm

The dress is being designed and made by a local Portlander who uses vintage kimonos and coordinating Japanese fabrics to make pieced dresses, tops, jackets, etc. Mine will be a fitted top with sheer sleeves since I have old-lady arms, not Michelle Obama arms, and a flaring skirt. Hard to describe. There will be some subtle beading on the top to pick up the red details in the dark teal background. She is over the moon that Michelle Obama will see this dress. When I can, I will share pictures. My kids are showing no signs of getting married anytime soon, so this is a splurge that I would have saved for that sort of occasion.

Party should be the day after the Kennedy Center Honors, so December 5th.

Nerdy – this video requires all of us to stand up in our personal spheres to make sure Black Lives Matter everywhere. These white people protesting the election in my town – Portland – should be using their time and anger to stand up for the marginalized and at-risk from the Trump administration too many of them enables by sitting out or voting third party on 11/9

[…..] The group organizing the demonstration said it plans for protesters to “March from Lincoln Memorial to [the] White House to show our strength, power and courage and demonstrate our disapproval of the new president and his values in a peaceful march. ALL women, femme, trans, gender non-conforming and feminist others are invited to march on Washington DC the day following the inauguration of the President elect. This march is a show of solidarity to demand our safety and health in a time when our country is marginalizing us and making sexual assault an electable and forgivable norm. We align with all POC and LGBTQ causes, and we will show our support in a non-violent protest.” The New York Facebook group adds, “This is an INCLUSIVE march, and EVERYONE who supports women’s rights are welcome.” […..]

This is what Democrats should be talking about. Trump has no mandate to impose his racist and misogynistic agenda on Americans. The majority of Americans voted against him. It’s now official that Hillary Clinton received 1 million more votes than Trump. The projection is that after California counts all the votes, Hillary will likely win the popular vote by 2 million. Trump and the Republicans should be reminded, everyday, that the majority of Americans voted against Donald Trump!

This is unorecedented! And according to Malcolm Nance on MSNBC today, he (and those kids) cannot get clearance–even from Trump when he is president, unless they are legitimately employed by the government. I’d take bets on the fact he is asking because he does not understand what is being communicated to him. Remember, good ole Ivanka was vacationing with Vlad’s girlfriend in August.

    • November 15, 2016 at 7:23 pm

It would be funny hf – if it was a reality show. The idiots in my government are talking seriously about the benefits of the massive increase in war power about to be unleashed by Trump. So much hurt to so many people – because white folks don’t like to share with people who are “different”.

I am still in a rage & having trouble talking rationally about anything.

Must admit, I am surprised that Hillary did so much worse than PBO in so many areas. We can go on forever about speculating about why that was, but it is striking. At heart, I suspect there was a trust level for PBO at least by 2012 that just never existed for Hillary. It is reflected in his ongoing ratings even today.

Everyone I know kept talking about “both flawed candidates”. When you tell them that Hillary has been attacked by the media and the GOP for 30 years, that she has done nothing to deserve such hate – they look amazed – they believed EVERY word the media every said about Benghazi and those emails – not to mention she should have stayed home & played with the grandchildren.

This is why she did so badly – if they believe it in Australia with much less publicity – imagine what people in the US believed.

MUST READ! as pundits, commentators and cheerleaders for the “WWC” try to give a pass/excuse to anyone who voted Trump. It was no secret who he was, even to those who are not politically informed.

“Millions of Americans are justifiably afraid of what they’ll face under a Trump administration. If any group demands our support and sympathy, it’s these people, not the Americans who backed Trump and his threat of state-sanctioned violence against Hispanic immigrants and Muslim Americans. All the solicitude, outrage, and moral telepathy being deployed in defense of Trump supporters—who voted for a racist who promised racist outcomes—is perverse, bordering on abhorrent.”

Just saw this, and since I have had my head in the sand relating to all-things-DJT, had no idea that Chris Christie sent Kushner’s father to prison for… wait for it… tax and conspiracy charges.

So why were Christie and DJT so tight after the primaries, before Christie’s scapegoats were convicted for #Bridgegate?

one the things I am not really convinced about is the large number of ballots where people “recorded no choice for president”.

choosing a president is the major reason why people show up during a presidential year … yet the same voters recorded an answer for other offices and issues …. I just don’t know what to think.

somehow we all accepted this as an indisputable fact that it was voter behavior even though we knew going in (per intelligence reports) that the voting machines in some states had previous been compromised.

may be I have been exposed to many conspiracy theories …. but I need proof and patterns of which locations/precincts and the time when they were cast.

are these “empty votes” concentrated in just the areas and locations in battleground states where the race most needed to be determined or do they appear in other areas.

I am trying not to be very suspicious of the constant refrain from the media : “both are equally unpopular candidates” … who started this ….. who benefited from pushing it so hard … and at which point was it a self-fulfilling prophecy
