    I mean really, if you’re the newly elected President Of the United States of America, it makes perfect sense to kick the C.I.A and the FBI in the nuts two weeks before you walk into the oval office.

      Make America Sick Again is the perfect hashtag for what the Republicans are doing with the ACA. It’s disgusting how much they don’t care about their fellow citizens unless they’re rich.

    Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Thursday morning. Congrats whenpamelawandered, on being first this morning.

    Nerdy, thanks so much for helping Ms. Chips and the sacrifices you are making for us TOD’ers. 💫🙏👌👊❤

    To all, I hope you don’t hesitate to give thanks to whom it’s due, give an encouraging smile to one with the pensive look, and provide hugs to those in need today. ❤ ❤ ❤

    Notwithstanding the nightmare of BuffoonTrump in the Whitehouse, I am more than ever, Thankful to God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆

    Nerdy – Thank you so much for posting this tweet. Everything the White House has been issuing lately can be seen to be part of the gathering of the historical record of President Obama. We got to live it, and now we get to read about it, with open eyes, minds, and hearts. I love that.

    Oh, and I’m still watching the non-RWNJ parts of the Senate hearing … and may I just say Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM) is very, very cute. I may be old but I’m not dead. Carry on.

    Good day TOD! Like many here, I cried through the Farewell ceremony yesterday. It didn’t help that PBO also looked so very sad. He has to be worried about our men and women in uniform under DT. They will not be valued by their new commander in chief as people, with families and loved ones. But it was wonderful to hear General Dunford’s and Secretary Carter’s praise for PBO, even though he was uncomfortable with it.

    The days are moving much too quickly. But we have to fight every day. Made my call this morning to Ryan on his ACA survey. I was not able to get through on the 202 numbers but made it through on this number: 608-752-4050. The VM had been cleared so also left a voicemail.

    Bottom line is I will not feel safe under this president. He does not care about US intelligence, just what Putin wants him to hear. It is going to be a big adjustment from the last eight years.

    Nerdy, thank you so much for your tireless efforts in keeping us going here. This place is even more more important during these difficult days.

    Here’s a little of how I envision the two same or similar intel briefings the real President and the unPresident are receiving this week:

    President Obama listens intently, asks pertinent questions at various points, discusses options for pushback, requests follow-up through Jan. 19, thanks the briefers for their service to him and the American people.

    Trump asks one briefer to move his chair to the left a little to block the sun coming in the window, asks another briefer to “use a coaster” for his drink, asks the military briefer “what are all the medals for,” and, finally, asks if “anybody wants a taco bowl.” When briefers get to the point where they say, “This is the point where we get to take you to federal prison,” Trump insists “the leg irons should go over my socks (well, he’d say foot hosiery, but I digress)” so as not to leave a mark that Melania wouldn’t like.

      The MSM has been horrible (since WJC’s Telecommunications Act, as people here have informed me), but it’s soon going to 1984-level worthless propaganda.

      DJT will leverage the overt fears of the print media (how to survive in the Internet age) by leveraging “you play by my rules or else…”

      As a nation we must figure out how to combat our slide into plutocratic autocracy.

      Not media-related, but another example of how DJT is daring/taunting MSM and GOP to challenge him.

    http://www.abc15.com/news/national/paul-ryan-says-republicans-will-move-to-defund-planned-parenthood

    “This is a priority for the Republicans,” said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi Thursday afternoon. “So I just would like to speak individually to women across America: this is about respect for you, for your judgment about your personal decisions in terms of your reproductive needs, the size and timing of your family or the rest, not to be determined by the insurance company or by the Republican ideological right-wing caucus in the House of Representatives. So this is a very important occasion where we’re pointing out very specifically what repeal of the (Affordable Care Act) will mean to woman.”

    Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said “it’s likely no accident that this attack was launched the day after Vice President-elect Mike Pence, a long-time opponent of Planned Parenthood, held a closed-door meeting with Speaker Ryan and the Republican leadership.”

    It is beyond disgusting to see these vile Republicans go about trying to repeal or replace Obamacare. They never cared about legislating anything that helped people acquire and afford healthcare until President Obama wanted to do it and was able to succeed without their help. These Republicans draw a paycheck, earn retirement benefits, and receive all kinds of perks in the name of representing American citizens. Many of these Republicans are millionaires several times over and can afford the very best of healthcare for themselves and their families; yet, here they are trying to take away healthcare insurance from the less fortunate. They have no plans to replace it, after all Obamacare was fashioned after Rommeycare because there was not enough support for single payer. The Republicans just want to kill it and let it die away as if it never existed and hope that people will forget and move on. You know, the “short-attention span thing.” They forget that there is someone above everyone and everything, and it is to HIM that they will be held accountable.

    At the end of October, we shared our plans for preserving and passing on the digital history of the Obama administration, and invited the American people to “come up with creative ways to archive this content and make it both useful and available for years to come.” From the very beginning, our mission has been to reach Americans and people around the world on the channels and platforms where they already spend their time. The White House social media archive tells the story not just of how we’ve used these platforms to engage with people wherever they are, but also of how the digital landscape has changed over the past eight years. Citizens, students, companies, and organizations answered this call to action—and today we’re excited to share some of their innovative archival projects with you:

    But, JHC, he is doing his best to undermine this nation, to grind this country into a third world status, with no international influence at all.

    Tonight, I make a toast to our President and First Lady, who never dishonored the trust our youth placed in them to show the way … and I apologize that these tokens are getting longer and longer! I’m out of control! ❤

    ***

    Mentor-in-Chief

    We've all known the mentors
    Of our young and rising men
    Could be a father or uncle
    Or a neighborhood friend
    Might be a pastor or teacher
    Or a best friend's dad
    Might be a community volunteer
    Or stepfather or granddad
    Of course, there are the moms
    And grandmothers and aunts
    And the neighborhood lady
    Who says "Pull up those pants!"
    Many adults can be lauded
    Those who take the time to invest
    Knowing the young man with potential
    Will have to do the rest
    And of course the young women
    Are also put to the test
    Many are given the attention
    So they can do their best
    My brother's keeper
    Or my sister's, too
    Were usually themselves recipients
    Of a helping hand or two
    Perhaps they had no dad or mom
    Always around to help them grow
    This is how it seems it's always been
    These are the scenes we all know.

    But when your mentor leads the country
    And is looked upon with awe
    It brings on another dimension
    None alone of us foresaw
    For the young boy visiting the Oval
    Who touched the top of his President's head
    Or the young girl in the White House garden
    Next to her First Lady (in a vegetable bed!)
    Or the young students invited to a forum
    To share a scientific discovery
    Or young black men who'd been imprisoned
    Receiving a visit while in recovery
    Or the youth of other countries
    Cape Town and Cuba come to mind
    Who listened intently to what our President said
    Seeing him so knowledgeable and kind
    Symbolic of all that can be was he
    Who, despite having great work to do, took a minute
    To inspire our youth to dream of a future
    In a university or workplace and them in it
    And this year we thank him
    Genuinely, without measure
    For being Mentor-in-Chief
    And our national treasure.

    Everything Makes Sense If You Accept That White People Just Want Everyone And Everything Dead
    Damon Young, 1/5/17

    …………………………….

    Anyway, I’m thinking about this movie today because it helps to put the last three months of American politics in a certain context. Of course, we all know that White people went full capital letter White People and elected Donald Trump President; an act that seemed not to make any sense until you realize that it actually made perfect sense. Today, however, I had an Agent Kujan at the bulletin board epiphany. I even dropped my milkshake in slow motion on the floor.

    Capital Letter White People want everyone dead. Not just us (Black people) or Muslims or Mexicans or Colin Kaepernick. But everyone.

    Before you dismiss this, consider the following:

    1. They elected a man who A) is literally a tweet away from starting a series of events that would culminate in a nuclear war and who B) apparently gives no fucks about the fact that he’s literally a tweet away from starting a series of events that would culminate in a nuclear war

    …………………

    3. They desperately want to repeal Obamacare and defund Planned Parenthood; ultimately snatching health benefits and free and/or reduced cost health care away from millions of Americans — which will totally, definitely result in more dead Americans

    Perfecting My Jenifer Lewis Face To Fight White Supremacy
    Sheree Greer, 1/4/17

    ………………….

    I discovered my Jenifer Lewis face when, at the start of the fall semester, campus security and Milwaukee County Police joined forces to shut down a back to school party just blocks from my apartment. The party, which I happily attended, was packed with Black bodies dancing and hugging and laughing in all the ways we needed to face another semester at a PWI; we raised our hands and voices to Nas’s “If I Ruled the World,” all the while knowing the White boys around the corner actually do. The party eventually spilled out from my friend’s small, first floor apartment and onto the front lawn. Some of us were taking a moment to catch our breath in the crisp, cool breeze rustling through the golden and fire red trees of autumn in Milwaukee. Some of us were just shooting the shit, talking about midterms or who was getting down with who once the last jam played. Were we loud? Probably. Were we standing around laughing, slapping fives, and dranking? Of course. Were we burning shit, turning over cars, throwing homemade pasta-sauce-grenades at each other and fucking up people’s cars? Absolutely not.

    When the campus and city police showed up, flashing lights and shining ultra-bright beams across the lawn and into our faces, they ordered us, via bullhorn, to either go inside or go home. Shit was a scene from “Higher Learning.” When too few of us responded, the police whooped their siren and repeated their order: Go inside or go home. The campus security made their way out of their cars, holding flashlights and already calling for college IDs. The city police opened their doors in support of the move, ready to jump out and accost anyone who moved too slowly. The security checked for identification and made moves to shut down the party. I knew the look I had on my face, but more importantly, I knew the way I felt, that acrid and heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach, was telling me something I needed to remember. The world works one way for them and another way for us. And this is America.

    This was never more clear than when I moved to Florida shortly after graduating from Marquette. I took an IT consulting position that relocated me to sunny St. Petersburg, Florida. I worked with a diverse set of people, both nationally and internationally, but the folks at the very top never looked like me. In fact, they looked like mostly sober, clean-shaven versions of the frat boys who lived across the street from me in the not-so-distant past. New to area, I hadn’t spent a lot of time in the south. All I knew were beaches and beach trolleys, sun hats and sunsets. I was quickly introduced to a lot of things—some good (Cuban bread, mango and avocado trees growing in back yards), others troubling (Confederate flags on pick-up trucks everywhere, all the time), and still another a great but confusing marvel of contemporary shopping that, at the time, I had no frame of reference for… my first Walmart.

    I had stepped into the superstore on the Northside of St. Petersburg (a city historically segregated by north and south by Central Avenue, North for Whites and South for Black people. The lines are blurring now though. See also: Gentrification. See Also: Urban Colonialism) because it was open late, and them long days as a consultant many times stretched past normal store hours. The looks started the moment I stepped out of my car and followed me all the way in to the bright overhead lights. Still in my smart, I’m-coming-for-a-management-position-suit and pinstriped shirt, I walked up and down the aisles, marveling at how tires, socks, DVD players, rifles, bikes, and Juicy Juice could share the same space. And without a membership? Walmart was off the chain. More remarkable than the stock in the place was me taking stock of the place. Other than two others, who were both workers, I seemed to be the only person of color in the entire store. And these White people, trying to enjoy their late-night shopping experience, were mad at me. They were mad I was in their store, on their side of town, and they were mad that I had on a suit, mad that I apparently had a job. The hate palpable, their mouths tight frowns and their eyes slits of accusation. I called my sister while I stood in line the shit was so ridiculous. I remember saying, Jenifer Lewis face intact, voice not even a little hushed, “You should see how these White people staring at me in this Walmart though. Like they ain’t never seen no Black woman with a job before.”

    but for now, I occasionally send him something because I want the historical record to show that ordinary people had stuff to say to him and what our thoughts were on matters big and small.

    I had wanted to travel home over the holidays and spend as much winter time away from here and with my elderly sick parents and family.

    this means, that I would be like others abroad, and report my presence to the US embassy … just in case political upheaval intensified at home.

    I am therefore aware that people in the State Department and Diplomatic Corp have enormous value to any American in that nation.

    treating the people in foreign service as immaterial does a huge disservice to the US and to all American citizens abroad.

    ‘Hidden Figures’ brings NASA’s overlooked black pioneers to light

    “Hidden Figures” is a story about reaching for the stars while fighting racial and gender barriers. The new movie follows the careers of three black women who worked at NASA’s Langley headquarters in Virginia during the 1950s and ‘60s to help launch the first American into space. Long overlooked, their story is finally being told. Jeffrey Brown reports.

    WHY?? Where are the Democrats that are willing to take a stand and make a point?? ANY Dem senator???

    http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/activists-are-frustrated-democrats-wont-challenge-trumps-legitimacy-during-electoral

    The vast majority of congressional Democrats don’t want to take a final stand against Donald Trump’s election, even a symbolic move telling Americans why they believe his presidency is illegitimate, at Friday’s ratification of the 2016 Electoral College vote.

    Despite GOP-led voter suppression that civil rights activists say deterred millions of people of color, Russian actions that helped Trump and hurt Democrats, and a new report revealing that 50 or more of Trump’s presidential electors were illegally seated—amounting to vote fraud by a party that bludgeons Democrats on that very issue—grassroots activists said they could not find one senator on Thursday willing to commit to signing a formal Electoral College challenge.

    The activists said several House members were willing to sponsor a formal challenge, just as Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, D-OH, did in 2005, opposing ratification of Ohio’s 2004 Electoral College votes. But they could not find a senator like Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-CA, who led that body’s challenge back in 2005. If one House member sponsored the objection, and a second House member and one senator signed on, the joint session of Congress convened to ratify the results would adjourn and the House and Senate would hold a two-hour debate.

    LOOK! Voter fraud committed by frauds yelling about voter fraud!!

    http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/least-50-trump-electors-were-illegitimately-seated-electoral-college-members

    More than 50 Electoral College members who voted for Donald Trump were ineligible to serve as presidential electors because they did not live in the congressional districts they represented or held elective office in states legally barring dual officeholders.

    That stunning finding is among the conclusions of an extensive 1,000-plus page legal briefing prepared by a bipartisan nationwide legal team for members of Congress who are being urged to object to certifying the 2016 Electoral College results on Friday.

    “Trump’s ascension to the presidency is completely illegitimate,” said Ryan Clayton of Americans Take Action, who is promoting the effort. “It’s not just Russians hacking our democracy. It’s not just voter suppression at unprecedented levels. It is also [that] there are Republicans illegally casting ballots in the Electoral College, and in a sufficient number that the results of the Electoral College proceedings are illegitimate as well.”

    “Republicans like to talk all the time about people voting illegally,” Clayton continued. “We have a list of a bunch of Republicans that allegedly voted illegally in the Electoral College. Pam Bondi is the attorney general of the state of Florida and the Florida Constitution says that you cannot hold two offices. And she holds the office of Attorney General and she holds the office of federal elector in the Electoral College. That is a violation of the law. That is a violation of the Constitution. And the vote that she cast in this election is illegal.”

    WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?? WHERE IS THE MSM?? Still sucking up, I see…

    i watched a short clip of Woolsey’s interview on CNN and his comment : ” ….. I didn’t want to fly under false colors …”;

    …. maybe I am now a conspiracy theorist who is double-checking everything;

    …. but a few things send my mind working in over-speed:

    – isn’t “colors” the word that could also refer to the flag … it flowed spontaneously out of him but he then went on to expand on what he meant;

    – during his continuing explanation of this phrase, was he looking uncomfortable and down from the camera or what …

    – he seemed like someone who is trying to redeem his name (maybe after a talk from some former colleagues of his) ….. deleting files from the recycle bin ….

    ;

    anyway, what are the chances that these things could be related:

    – appearance of assange on Hannity;

    – praise of assange by the demagogue even as he trashed the members of the intelligence community;

    – departure of Woolsey from the demagogue’s transition team;

    – yesterday’s tweet from the Schwartz ” calmness before the storm”;

    – expressions of anger about the insults of the demagogue and other warnings, all being pronounced by people who previously worked in intelligence ;

    – speculations from veteran journalists ;

    so many things happening, I just don’t know what to think anymore

      If we can turn two of these Senators on the ACA, the plan to defeat it will die.

      CALL these senators and use this info as well..

      http://www.abc15.com/news/national/repealing-obamacare-could-cost-3-million-jobs-study-finds

      The federal government funds both state Medicaid expansion programs and the Obamacare premium subsidies. This money eventually flows to insurers and providers, including hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and other medical facilities. It’s used to purchase medical equipment and other goods and to pay staff and vendors.

      When these funds are cut, insurers and providers could be forced to cut staff and may not be able to afford to pay their vendors. And those former workers now have less spending power — triggering ripple effects throughout the economy.

      That means state and local governments wouldn’t be able to collect as much in tax revenue. The report estimates the fallout could be about $48 billion of forgone tax revenue over the course of five years.

      “There have been other analyses that point out that a lot of people will lose their insurance [if Obamacare is repealed], but people have not discussed this broader economic impact,” Leighton Ku, the report’s lead author, told CNNMoney.

    A blessed Friday to theobamadiary family everywhere. To our US brothers and sisters who now live with apprehension as you await the presidency of Trump, please know that we, outside the US, are praying for your survival and ultimate victory over the evil that is trumpism.

    In your endeavor to appeal to McCain and those other republicans to change their minds on voting to repeal the ACA, ask them if their hearts have become desperately wicked, as the Bible predicted would happen to men’s heart in the final days, that they would prefer to see people die for want of health insurance? I note that these republican politicians like to pretend that they are living out the precepts in the Bible. Are they now willing to demonstrate by their voting that not even God can reach their heart?
