Did you see this from yesterday?

Since this is exactly what I would be doing if I were her age and had her means at that age, LOVED this story (which happened on Thanksgiving Day last year).

Arapaho, I loved when a reporter on LOD the other night said “it was a BAD day at the White House, a VERY BAD day” when Malia left to go traveling. That was just before the story broke. Can’t ya just see poor PBO bemoaning that his daughter was leaving him for 83 days? LOL. Saw that she is going to be interning with Weinstein so there will be more separations. I suspect there may quite a number of trips to CA for “golf”.

I think you’ll have to scroll down (and ignore the dumpster, aka #SiberianCandidate) to take a peek at these photos, which may be posted on Instagram (don’t have an account there, not sure how to navigate the site).

And I noticed that @petesouza (personal account) has less than 3,000 followers, but he’s tweeted from that account in the last few days.

    Pete RT’d this:

Can someone tell me WHY tweets from Trump and Pence are showing up on my TL? I unfollowed POTUS and the VP, and when I go to them it does NOT show me following them so why the tweets? The LAST thing I want today.

Thanks for this thread most of all Nerdy! I was thinking watching the folks at Andrews just before they were leaving, you do not see these demonstrations of love and affection toward DT even from his wife or children. And he certainly will never see them from anyone else. We all know he is green with jealous of PBO and thinks he has beat him. We are here to prove him WRONG!

The worst part of the day was when he touched Michelle. He is so utterly repellent I cannot imagine it how she tolerated it. I hope they have a wonderful time in CA, and begin to recover from this emotionally trying last week. Felt so much better after seeing their tweets come across my timeline. They are NOT going away!

Obama Legacy: The True Impact Of Having Two Black Lawyers In The White House
    By Paula Edgar
    Jan, 20, 2017
    0
I could never have imagined as a child that the leader of the free world and his wife would both be Black lawyers. Their presence in the White House reminded me of the responsibility we as lawyers have to use our legal training to become servant leaders.

“I am asking you to believe. Not in my ability to bring about change — but in yours.” – President Barack Obama’s Farewell Address, January 10, 2017

Everyone will have their individual take on the legacies of Barack and Michelle Obama. We know Barack Obama’s resume. He is America’s 44th President and our first Black President. Before becoming President he was a community organizer, a law Professor, and a Senator. His impact as our President stands alone, but for me, as a Black attorney and leader, his legacy is inextricable with that of his wife, Michelle.

Michelle Obama’s legacy and impact as a mother, health and education advocate, lawyer, wife and advisor to the President is unparalleled. She is from the south side of Chicago, and like her husband, attended Harvard Law School and later worked at a top law firm. After private practice, her career went on to local government, nonprofit, community organizing and finally a position in healthcare administration. Mrs. Obama has been our most experienced and accomplished First Lady to date.

    ………………

Together, the Obamas made the roles of the President and First Lady approachable and authentic. They opened the doors of the White House to all of us, but I could never have imagined as a child that the leader of the free world and his wife would both be Black lawyers. My most memorable exposure to a Black lawyer as a child was the role of Claire Huxtable in the Cosby Show. As an adult, I remember that having a Black actor portray the President on “24” was controversial.

Either the poncho was with him or against him in the fight against the rain.

Former President George W. Bush, 70, attempted to stay dry during the rainy inauguration of the 45th president, Donald J. Trump, on Friday.

His efforts — wrestling a plastic poncho until it awkwardly shielded him from the raindrops — did not go unnoticed by social media.

According to the weather report tomorrow will be partly cloudy but there will be some sun and no rain. This is will be the only day for golf until the end of the week.
PBO will also get back to those long walks that he has missed this past 8 years. I am so glad that they both are healthy, fit, and relatively young enough to really enjoy this part of their lives.

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought I’d better check on the actual protocol before I get all huffy about PBO being called Mr.O. This is a link to Emily Post’s answer, though it seems like, in debates and such, former governors are called Governor, former Secretary of State is called Secretary, etc. Anyway, Emily says PBO now is titled Mr.O. or former President Obama, except at an informal gathering where you might address him directly as a friend. That’s all I needed to know. He will remain PBO, FLOTUS will always be FLOTUS, and the current upstarts will just be whatever jokey term of derision is pertinent to their latest gaffe.

Susanne, I think it will be just perfect if we continue to refer to them as PBO and FLOTUS, cuz, we know who we’re talking about. The one and only First Family that we recognize here on TOD ❤

      January 20, 2017 at 6:45 pm

I’m not sure that’s how it works in practice. i believe PBO always referred to his predecessors as “President”. But then again, he is a class act.

Our president was a badass from the beginning to the end. The ones to fear the most are the quiet ones the reserved ones who do not bluster and brag. Caesar, in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar was right to be wary of the young Cassius who read too much, was a great observer who looked quite through the deeds of men. PBO was such and this is why bin laden is long gone, al aqada decimated, and Isis pummeled. Putin wanted PBO gone and Hillary eliminated because he knows that they see through his bullshit. Now we have Putin’s ignorant, childish useful fool. Lord, have mercy on us and keeps us from hurt, harm and danger.
