  6. January 25, 2017 at 10:14 am

I look forward to the day when we have focus and determination to support tangible projects from our moral leaders, PBO and MO. I know we’ll all be here for that.

  8. January 25, 2017 at 10:17 am

AMEN TO THIS….i use to engage them…now i just mute them on twitter…and unfollow them on FB…when i see them at a Community meeting…i just say hello but i cannot engage them….i just can’t

    • January 25, 2017 at 11:52 am

I’ve decided it’s fruitless to engage them. I used to on facebook, once in a while, not because I thought I could change them but because I thought someone else reading the exchange might find some good ideas. But now they get no pushback just total agreement with anyone else commenting. They’ve become like right wing groups-locked in their own feedback loop. However I can judge the measure of their guilt by the force with which they continue to blame the Democrats, Clinton, Wasserman-Schultz, the people who voted for Clinton, and all those smart Dems who rigged the primaries. And the complete willful stubbornness of thinking that Russians had nothing to do with the election and that Sanders would have won. Anyone but their own sorry selves.

    • January 25, 2017 at 11:57 am

The final straw was when one woman, who had been a huge PBO supporter, posted recently that he had lost his moral compass (!) and had sold out to the big corporations, blah, blah, etc. bloody etc. She also went to the women’s march in Ann Arbor-big college town- and said she would try not to show her contempt for all the bourgeois ‘liberal’ women there. She’s a legal secretary with a firm that does estate planning, so I hope she reserved some of that contempt for herself.

Maeve (some of you will remember her from the OFA Blog) just posted this on Facebook

    Solid action to take:
If you want to support Senator Warren’s request to audit President Trump’s finances for conflicts of interest, the woman who answered the phone at the Comptroller General of the Government Accountability Office said the most effective way to be sure my support counted was to email two administrators, Katherine Siggerud and Timothy Minnelli.
Send ONE email addressed to all three:
    siggerudk@gao.gov
    minnellit@gao.gov
    congrel@gao.gov
Subject line: Audit for President Trump’s Financial Concerns

Dear Ms. Siggerud and Mr. Minnelli,
I support Senator Elizabeth Warren’s request for an audit of our incoming President Trump’s finances, to prohibit conflicts of interest that would prevent him from carrying out the responsibilities of the office without corrupt influence.
    Sincerely,

This took about 30 seconds to do. An audit is essential immediately.

It strikes me that 3-5 million cannot be a random number that he pulls out of his ass. The ONLY reason why he cites exactly that number is because that way he can pretend to himself that he got the popular vote but a narrow to comfortable margin. Everything about this is about his ego, down to the alleged numbers,

CNN is on it with a BREAKING NEWS

Donald Trump’s nominee to head the Treasury department, Steven Mnuchin, is registered to vote in two states, a CNN KFile review of paperwork obtained through open records requests in New York and California show.
While it is illegal to cast ballots in multiple states, it is not illegal to be registered in two states at the same time. In a tweet Wednesday, the president called for an investigation into voter fraud, including whether citizens are registered to vote in two states.

They are asking for the public to push back on the current bills in congress which lift the ban on hunting wolves in 4 states. Daughter Unit is a volunteer . with this project. Last week they brought the wolves to meet a group of oil executives from several countries, and report those oil execs were quite smitten. It may or may not make an difference, but they are trying.,

We will conduct the work in the name non-partisan, fact-based approach we take with all Congressional requests.”

I don’t think President Obama is wanting to take on the role of the leader of the #Resistance to Trump fascism . But he might be able to annoint a leader who can unify this movement and carry it forward. Someone like a George Clooney, who is already nationally known and has a humanitarian commitment, along with superb communication skills and a wide network of connections across business, entertainment, popular culture, and politics.

Agency Advertising Joint Robby Mook/Corey Lewandowski Appearances Deletes The Page

UPDATE: 12:35 p.m. ― The Leading Authorities speakers’ agency now claims that this whole half-baked idea was cooked up without the knowledge of any of the participants, which is apparently a thing people are allowed to do?

As BuzzFeed’s Ruby Cramer reports, Leading Authorities on Wednesday deleted the listing for Mook and Lewandowski’s joint appearance, and is now saying it was never really a listing at all. A spokesman for the agency said the now-removed material was “generated by our team.”

“There has been great interest in both Corey and Robby individually, but want to be clear that they have not teamed up,” the spokesman told BuzzFeed. “This was solely our team’s idea.”

When the NAACP takes action, people listen!

After NAACP branches organized multiple sit-ins, protests and demonstrations around the nation, the movement to #StopSessions took flight. Combined with your support, emails and phone calls to your senators, the Senate Judiciary Committee pushed back the confirmation of Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions as US Attorney General another week.

This short break gives us a chance to ramp up our efforts in telling the Senate that he is still the worst among worst nominees for our nation’s top civil rights enforcement spot.

His allies were expecting a swift confirmation, but our protests proved them wrong. Expecting him to be confirmed, the new administration removed its civil rights page and the Justice Department began the process of abandoning voter protections and consent decrees that reeled in racist police departments.

Yesterday, we let them know that things won’t be as easy as they thought. The momentum is growing and starting to make his friends a little nervous. They’re now sweating enough to spend an unheard-of $750,000 on television ads to stop us from mobilizing our members to #StopSessions, but it won’t be enough.

Click here to urge your senators to reject Sessions for Attorney General.

Tell your senators they must delay this process as much as possible to thoroughly review the record of the nominee for our nation’s most important civil rights job. Slowing down the process would give senators time to learn that Senator Sessions has shown little to no support for protecting the vote, ending voter suppression or stopping police brutality.

How can Trump build a wall when most of the land is privately owned ? If he tries eminent domain he will be in court for years and years.

Bush tried it in 2006 on one private land owner. It was not resolved by the courts until 2013.

I told them they need to rein in their crazy ass potus because this shit wasn’t ok! I will call again. I want them to answer for the manic they stay quiet for. I’m fucking pissed!

    • January 25, 2017 at 3:59 pm

LOL. I told you this morning that I used your comments and wrote my message. The one that I found funny was Alexander (when I finally got through). He mentioned that they were getting back to back to back calls and he didn’t have much time. I said, “That’s your problem.” 🙂 They OWN him!!! Right now, I am taking a break and calling EVERY DEM in the Senate. Message: I’m calling from Knoxville, TN. Every D Senator. Even though we are very early in this ugly process, it is PAST time we see a strong organized resistance from the D’s in the Senate. It is past time for every D to grow a backbone and resist this man. I see no reason why a single D should be voting for his cabinet nominees, either in committee or on the floor. None. They don’t need the D’s vote so WHY are you doing it?! Resist!

So far, I’ve gotten through to either talk to someone or leave a message for 13. (Doing it alphabetically) I’m going to do a few more today and hope to finish tomorrow.

Arkansas State Outreach official resigns after tweeting it’s ‘Trumps’s America — ya bunch of homos’

Hatcher has been under fire for tweeting, “Y’all in Trumps’s America now. Time to flick that chip off ya shoulder and quit being so offended. Gay jokes are back on ya bunch of homos!”

( He is also in the National Guard ) . According to KATV, Hatcher has had his computer and phone privileges revoked while he awaits deployment to Africa while he is stationed in Texas.

This is for GGail and any other TODers who live in or near Pasadena:

Quick read about our PBO’s time at Occidental and his disappointing return to Los Angeles in 2000, but how he, of course, came roaring back a few years later. I knew about his time at Occidental, but there are a few other little facts in here that I did not know, including the fact that he lived in Pasadena, on Glenarm St. There is apparently a plaque in front of the building, put up by the city, put up in December. I’m so sorry I missed the ceremony! I totally would have gone! I used to walk that neighborhood all the time and never knew this. Anyway, this will be a good excuse for lunch and a field trip with friends soon 😉
