Today America is beginning to wake up to the reality that things are NOT going to be okay. Only an awakened and active citizenry can stop fascism, and the march towards total breakdown of our economy and civil institutions.

What a fool and an embarrassment this idiot potusinoT is. I wonder if he is enjoying all the negative attention and the anger he is stirring up. I believe he gets uglier and more hateful with every photo taken of his pathetically disturbed self.

Thank you, vcprez. I appreciate it. Though I’ve said nothing, I’ve been lurking the whole time. Today however, I felt the pressing need to say those words.

Ps- happy new year to you too; and may my recurring fantasy come to pass, that Orange Julius and his white haired hobbit disappear off the face of the earth.

My serious question to all of us:

Maybe we should flood our senators offices (plural) with calls and ask them when they planned on acting on the unconstitutional actions of a tyrant. They are all sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States. If the installed president and his VP are not, seems to me they should take action or THEY are in violation of their oaths as well…. Agree? If you do, then we need to flood the local offices and DC offices with faxes, calls, emails etc. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!

    • January 28, 2017 at 6:11 pm

df, I read this comment on last thread. Got in my car and on way home tried Alexander local and DC. Voicemail full at both. Corker: Was able to leave a message at his local office. It’s Saturday. What can we do?!

      • 17 desertflower
        January 28, 2017 at 6:16 pm

Not sure sweetness….we need to put our heads together and get this moving…this sob isn’t waiting to ruin the damn country because its Saturday! If you can fax, fax. If we can call, call.. email etc. I guess if we know where these cowards (aka our reps) live…we gather peacefully but steadfastly, at their homes….a silent protest. We MAKE them hear us!! MAKE them see us! MAKE them listen to us!! THEY work for US!

Oh…I see that since they are frantic to work on a “conservative agenda” they’ve decided they needed more “work” days. Got it.

To ensure that the United States House of Representatives has ample time to enact a conservative agenda, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy has increased the average number of days we will be in session by the equivalent of more than three legislative weeks – particularly during the first part of the year.

Understanding the importance of balancing responsibilities in Washington with duties back home, this calendar also provides a district work period nearly every month so that elected Representatives can stay connected to their constituents.

Yes they’ve been good meta… lots of speaking up by dems and several at the airports. I’ve seen ONE Republican speak up via Jon Favreau’s timeline.

I’ve been rewarding them w/ thanks when they speak up… hopefully positive reinforcement (for dems) will give them courage.

Like meta, today has been unusually tough for me. Almost paralyzed. Until OFA called, and I made what for me is a sizable donation. that was one positive thing I could do. Now I need to find the chapter here.
One thing has surprised me about DT, although, knowing his personality disorder, it shouldn’t. I really thought he would ease into his program, thereby lulling everyone to think they could “work with him.” and he wouldn’t be as bad as they feared. However, by going full in the first week he has roused people, not lulled people. The other way it could have led to the “frog in the slowly boiling water” scenario. Doing these awful things this week has just given more validity and credibility to the marches last week, and more impetus to more to come. Never in my life did I think I would see hundreds of people at airports to welcome immigrants and demonstrate against an EO.

    • January 28, 2017 at 8:23 pm

carolyn, Trump’s impulsivity is what is at play here. He thinks that if he signs a dozen EOs a week, the American people will be bedazzled with his genius. Well, we are demonstrating LOUDLY that we are not playing his game. He’s a consummate fraud, a con man, a sideshow freak. We are NOT having it!

      • 95 Believe Again
        January 29, 2017 at 1:05 am

He is also using these “diversions” to take people’s attention off his collusion with Russia to attack the US on election day. As you all know that in itself is treason!

  48. January 28, 2017 at 8:17 pm

I wonder what President Obama is thinking

    • 97 Believe Again
      January 29, 2017 at 1:07 am

Probably that he has done what he can for the people for now, that is show them their own power. It is up to the people to exercise that power.

Unclear. Haven’t seen the order yet, and this is only the first step. Much the judge did not rule on yet, including religious discrimination issue which is not surprising. The lawyers will need more time to brief that and others. What I am most interested in is whether green card holders who are outside of the country and have not yet started their travel will be allowed back. If not now, this is an issue that should be won fairly easily. These are permanent residents who have been extensively vetted and in the country for years.

Met with our Indivisible group here today. Went from 8 of us two weeks ago to 28 today and 90 members on our fb page. Probably 80% were fairly recent retirees with time and energy. It occurred to me that DT is going to see the wrath of the baby boom generation in retirement:-)

Then came home to help coordinate protests at DFW where anywhere from 12-50 people were being held. By tonight, over 400 protesting. Cruz and Cornyn must be so puzzled. It is somewhat frustrating in that I am in such a solidly red district that working with our Congresswoman, Kay Granger, feels to a great extent like a waste of time. She has been in her position for nearly 20 years, and may be retiring in 2018. But she isn’t worried about reelection, generally refuses to meet with constituents, which is also Cruz’ latest tactic. So we’ll see where things go. But it is hugely satisfying to see the stay granted, even if it is only the first step in what will be a four year battle.
