Ha! From outer space to my bike riding! Well, thanks for asking – I’m fine, Steve’s fine, and I’m reporting the # of my bike “revolutions” to him each day. Plus, I’ve given up sugary goodies for the month. So far, I am still alive and kicking, in the “doing without” category.

        And you, my dear?

What would PBO say? Not her second part for sure. We may not like the person, but we should acknowledge his abilities. He is one of a handful of QBs who perform extremely well in the 4th Quarter. Sadly, the Falcons expended their energy in the first half.

Of all the EO’s he signed, I wonder how many of them he can go into detail about beyond the headline. Probably none. Just needed to point to the signature line and the fifth grader thought it was a big deal to take his marker and sign his name.

        • 102 idon
          February 6, 2017 at 2:45 pm

To me, Trump holding up the EO and pointing to his signature was the perfect meme for his woeful ignorance and incompetence. It was a clear signal he needs to be removed from office.

    • February 6, 2017 at 12:44 am

My main take-away from this article was that no Republican disagrees with what he’s doing, only that he looks so incompetent doing it. They don’t care if it’s unconstitutional, illegal, immoral, unethical. They don’t care if a judge tells them they can’t. They don’t care about the rule of law or established norms. They don’t care if millions of us disagree or protest. We saw this when they started breaking norms with President Obama, but I guess I just did not know or could not comprehend the vast disregard they have for our system of government. I will not stop protesting, calling, writing, and working for the 2018 elections at all levels, but this has really shaken me to the core. There are no good actors; no one who has the remotest doubt about what they are doing. The Constitution, the Founding Fathers, the idea of democracy are just empty shibboleths. And this is not just a strategy to get elected. It’s who they are, deep down in their bones. All of them.

I am petty enough to have enjoyed reading these and think of the thousands who don’t tweet, or would not admit that they voted for 45 and now bitterly regret it. The thing that pisses me off though, is that this person did not hide who he was and the life that he has lived for 70 years was on open view. One stroke of a keyboard would have put his life on display. They placed their own hopes, hates and fears on him, deliberately fooled themselves that he would deliver when all evidence was to the contrary. They now need to get off Twitter and start calling and writing their master and congress, protesting, and donating to help undo this nightmare.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-02-06/twitter-netflix-to-file-brief-opposing-trump-immigration-order

Ninety-seven companies, from Apple Inc. to Zynga Inc., filed an impassioned legal brief condemning President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration, stepping up the industry’s growing opposition to the policy.

The amicus brief was filed late Sunday in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and emphasizes the importance of immigrants in the economy and society. The companies originally planned to file the brief later this coming week, but accelerated efforts over the weekend after other legal challenges to the order, according to people familiar with the matter.

The participating technology companies include Airbnb Inc., Facebook Inc., Google, Intel Corp., Netflix Inc., Snap Inc. and Uber Technologies Inc. Companies beyond technology signed on as well, including Levi Strauss & Co. and yogurt maker Chobani LLC.

“Immigrants make many of the Nation’s greatest discoveries, and create some of the country’s most innovative and iconic companies,” the brief states. “America has long recognized the importance of protecting ourselves against those who would do us harm. But it has done so while maintaining our fundamental commitment to welcoming immigrants—through increased background checks and other controls on people seeking to enter our country.”

Late Friday, a U.S. District judge temporarily lifted the Trump administration’s ban, freeing refugees and visa holders from seven Muslim-majority countries to enter the U.S. An appeals court declined to immediately reinstate the immigration restrictions over the weekend.

The technology industry has been among the most vocal in opposition to Trump’s immigration policies.

    Activism reminder:

    Your Activism is Important:

Take 3 minutes EVERY DAY and call one of your legislators, your Governor, or your congressmen.

Be specific – call about ONE topic only.

Better yet, gather several like-minded folk and visit their local offices with a demand on ONE topic.

In-person visits are more powerful than phone calls. Phone calls are more powerful than e-mails.

    http://www.chron.com/news/education/article/College-responds-to-Trump-s-order-with-refugee-10910632.php

BOSTON (AP) — A liberal arts college in Massachusetts has created a refugee scholarship in response to President Donald Trump’s order on immigration and refugees and is calling on other colleges to do the same.
Wheaton College in Norton announced the offer after the Republican billionaire issued his Jan. 27 executive order, suspending America’s refugee program and halting immigration to the United States from seven Muslim-majority countries. On Saturday, the U.S. government suspended enforcement of the ban a day after a federal judge in Washington state temporarily blocked it.
College President Dennis Hanno said the scholarship is meant to demonstrate that Wheaton embraces its foreign-born community, even as the White House moves in the opposite direction.
“We value the different perspectives people from all around the world bring to Wheaton,” he said, noting that about 18 percent of the college’s 1,650 students hail from more than 70 different foreign nations. “It’s about wanting to take immediate action to preserve that environment we’ve created here.”
