Evening family. Seems like this Trump/Russia train is rolling down the track! Going to only pick up steam now and then….perpetual motion, baby!

Oh, Lordy… Help us remember that this actually happened, that it was wonderful, that we must cherish it, must remember that it is possible to have decent, intelligent, graceful, compassionate leadership – and that the people of this country made it happen, all of us. Every. Single. One. Of. Us. Every. Single. One.

  3. February 10, 2017 at 6:41 pm

Oh, what a day. Thank goodness we were all here to witness and participate. Thankful every day.

Wow, that kind breaks my heart that our children no longer have a president to be proud of thanks to the GOP. Since Newt and his war on America, hateful words about liberals & Democrats 24/7 RW hate radio. At first it was just “entertainment” but it slowly made regular people angry all the time, needing to blame minorities, women, others for their short falls in life.

Still more coming out the 9th Circuit. A judge is asking for a vote en banc………which may or may not happen. This seems like a backhanded way for a pro-Trump judge to get an opinion on the record……….STAY TUNED.

Because PBO and his staff were not fools. They knew what the KGB thug was capable of (without peering into his eyes to see the measure of the man) and they knew him. Smelled a rat, searched or it and found Flynn and 45-elect. I keep thinking how all of those reporters who kept talking about PBO being weak and going on an apology tour when he was cleaning up the diplomatic mess of more than a generation. One so-called reporter, I do not remember which one, actually asked Putin I he thought PBO was weak, not as a challenge, but as a way to shame our president. Putin gave a thoughtful answer in the negative because he is not a fool. The shit that is going on now goes beyond even the crazy political stuff that Shonda Rimes can come up with. Too many people have such disrespect for anyone who is not white that they thought that if the multi-racial “skinny kid with the funny name” could be president then anyone could be so. Too bad for them and us that their anyone is a no-nothing, graceless, morally bankrupt, egotistic man-child. Anyone may fool enough people to get the job, but it does not make them capable of doing the job. This debacle shows that we must have more requirements, by law, for such a serious position.

“The only thing they don’t know how to handle is non-violence and humor.”

I’ve been thinking about that part of her message, since I first saw it. Passed it along to a friend of mine, too. Very sage advice, no matter the era we’re in. We all need to be smarter than they are – do smart things (like the resistance), say smart things (writing, calling, speaking up), and follow-up. And whether it be by mocking or another form of humor, try our best not to spend each day feeling bad. I’ve been thinking we should individually (and collectively) try to handle what’s going on with “45” in the same way we deal with issues in our personal lives, with other people. (Like rotten, nasty people at our jobs, who are infiltrating the company, if anybody’s been through that.) We’ve got this. We are smarter and there’s more of us than there are of 45’s minions.

And there’s always chocolate – and wine, for those who like ’em! (P.S. I don’t mean to imply I’m not struggling just like everybody else; this is more what I’d describe as my own goals moving forward.)

Of course, you are. All good people of conscience are struggling with this, but we are allowed and encouraged to remember beauty, simple pleasures and all of the things that make life worth living. These are the things that we are fighting FOR. In all of the horror that is going on now, we have to remember that “there’s room for the sweet. No matter what, there’s room, and you need to take it.” – J.D. Robb

I have been viewing videos of the Obamas on YouTube in honor of this day and came across the video of the day he, as President-elect, and Michelle visited the White House at the Bush’s invitation. 45 needs to view it to see how it is done. PBO helped her out of the car and walked behind her. After embraces and handshakes, the women walked into the building together with the men following behind. In all of the years that I have watched (stalked) them, I have never seen PBO treat MO as an after-thought or as an accessory (not that Michelle would ever allow herself to be treated this way). They always have this awareness of each other, this clear indication that they are a couple, not in power, but in love and friendship.

      • February 10, 2017 at 9:21 pm

Yes, beautifully stated. Trump is incapable of being aware of others other than as instruments for his self-aggrandization. He is cold and callous and demeaning and proud of it.

One of the things I’ve loved about having PBO & FLOTUS in the public eye is watching their interaction, love and respect for one another. Absolutely beautiful.

  18. February 10, 2017 at 8:29 pm

I asked on last thread. Is there anyone here that thinks/guesses/believes that there’s a REAL counter-intelligence still going on around Trump and Russia, the election…….everything. Anyone have anything to give us hope that ALL of them will eventually go down?!?! I truly don’t think our country can hang on much longer. It gets worse every day with these cabinet nominees coming aboard……all the damage they can do. HELP!!

      • February 10, 2017 at 9:17 pm

Thanks, Tally. I’ve read that 2 or 3 times. Lots to take in. My question is: do you believe this process, investigation, intelligence work IRS still going on ? Do you think PO and his team are still involved or being kept in the loop if FBI and others are still working on this?

I have to believe there are patriots in our government who understand how easily it can collapse without care, oversight, and constant vigilance against those who seek to weaken and destroy it.

I would also like Comey to turn out to be the hero – because what he did with that insane Weiner insanity right before the election – on it’s own – and him being a member of one of the most respected intelligence services on the planet, breaks me.

I feel there is, tnmtngrl, and it’s getting tricky to keep it covert with the demand from all sides. I feel in order to expose the entire rw operation, and indict the maximum number of offenders, there must be leakproof and incontrovertible documentation of every incident. To reveal incomplete knowledge means this kind of subterfuge will continue on into the future, becoming more and more difficult to detect and trace. Hang in there, everyone. It’s only a matter of time. But timing is critical to thwart the darkness from rising again. Keep You The Heart ❤

He was not a druggie and did not live in the area. He was shot in the dead from behind late at night. They never caught their killers.

I don’t see how Snowden is any sort of “gift.” He’s a lightening rod for the IC and the left. RWNJs were fine because he made life difficult for PBO. So sending him back only puts Trump in the position of straddling those two situations and proves that Putin can manipulate Trump quite easily by exposing his willingness to do Putin yet another favor. And what would that favor be? I don’t know. I just don’t get it. Trump might just put him in Gitmo. The whole thing is too weird.

Great! I am so glad to see young Athletes standing up for principle and for their self respect! Trump was the leader of the “Birther movement.” He spent over five years trashing and disrespecting President Obama whom he also tried to delegitimize with his “birther” nonsense. NE’s star quarterback, Tom Brady, joined Trump in dissing our first Black President! I see absolutely no reason why NE’s African American football players should participate in a symbolic ceremony conducted by the racist in the White House.I don’t care what Trump apologists, both white and black, say; Donald J. Trump–following in the footsteps of his father, Fred Trump– is a racist! It’s really a shame to see some Black people collaborating with this racist who spent more than 5 years trashing and challenging the legitimacy of this country’s first Black President who, unlike Trump, was elected and re-elected by the majority of the American voters.

I am so encouraged by these. And not everyone who attends is a Dem or a liberal.
Protestors Chanting ‘Shame!’ Swarm Event With Aides To 3 Georgia GOPers
Yet another town hall on behalf of GOP lawmakers was taken over Friday by protestors who demanded answers about the Republicans’ plans to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act and vented their anger at the Trump administration.

Hundreds of protesters attended a “constituent service day” with aides to Sen. David Perdue (R-GA), Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), railing against the lawmakers and erupting into chants of “shame!”, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The lawmakers themselves were not present at the “mobile office hours” event, designed as a meeting with the lawmakers’ aides in an east Georgia town so that constituents didn’t have to travel all the way to Atlanta to have their voices heard. The aides appeared overwhelmed by the size and enthusiasm of the crowd, according to the Journal-Constitution.“I’ve never called my Congressman – ever – until four or five weeks ago,” Ron Denham told the publication. “These people need to represent us and our voice needs to get louder and louder and louder.” “It’s not just progressives and liberals. Because I’m not one,” said Heidi Morton. “There are a lot of conservatives and Republicans that can’t stand Trump. And Republican politicians need to know their constituents are out here.”

Somebody described the awful handshake of 45 as the “Yank and Pull” and (gag) I found this description. (He can’t even shake hands like a normal human being.)

Yank and Pull: This handshake is considered a power play, as it’s when a person decides to grab your arm and pull you in close towards them and inside their territory/personal space. There are three possible reasons for this: firstly the person may be feeling insecure and needs you to be in their own territory in order to feel comfortable and safe, or secondly they come from a culture/city that requires smaller space needs, or finally, they want to take control and get you off balance. In any of these cases, they should be considered manipulative because the persons wants things done a certain way.

Take this Andrew Sullivan piece as you will, I just thought this hit the nail on the head.

Then there is the obvious question of the president’s mental and psychological health. I know we’re not supposed to bring this up — but it is staring us brutally in the face. I keep asking myself this simple question: If you came across someone in your everyday life who repeatedly said fantastically and demonstrably untrue things, what would you think of him? If you showed up at a neighbor’s, say, and your host showed you his newly painted living room, which was a deep blue, and then insisted repeatedly — manically — that it was a lovely shade of scarlet, what would your reaction be? If he then dragged out a member of his family and insisted she repeat this obvious untruth in front of you, how would you respond? If the next time you dropped by, he was still raving about his gorgeous new red walls, what would you think? Here’s what I’d think: This man is off his rocker. He’s deranged; he’s bizarrely living in an alternative universe; he’s delusional. If he kept this up, at some point you’d excuse yourself and edge slowly out of the room and the house and never return. You’d warn your other neighbors. You’d keep your distance. If you saw him, you’d be polite but keep your distance.

I think this is a fundamental reason why so many of us have been so unsettled, anxious, and near panic these past few months. It is not so much this president’s agenda. That always changes from administration to administration. It is that when the linchpin of an entire country is literally delusional, clinically deceptive, and responds to any attempt to correct the record with rage and vengeance, everyone is always on edge.

There is no anchor any more. At the core of the administration of the most powerful country on earth, there is, instead, madness.

It seems there’s a bit of turmoil surrounding the decision. Some judge has asked for an en banc vote and the possibility of producing a written opinion that goes against the decision. Then Trump’s camp said they wouldn’t take it to SCOTUS, then backtracked and said they would. Now they’re saying they’re redrafting but if you read the central argument of the court, I don’t see how that gets done without sacrificing Trump’s aim to target Muslims. So, no, it’s just another big mess he’s created because he’s ignorant of the law and the will of the people.

Don’t you just love Pete? Trolling the hell out of 45 and his crew with photos that speak a thousand words. Our PBO inspired such loyalty among those who worked with him because they had an up close and personal every day view of the decency, integrity, intelligence, skill and kindness of 44ever.

He also walked the talk, he led by example and never brought shame to the office of the President. President Obama never once made them feel ashamed to be part of his administration. So when they say they were honoured to serve with his administration, they really really mean it. 🙂

And so it begins. This f**ker is doing exactly what opponents said he would. Next he is coming for brown immigrants, Black and Brown folks of any strip, Jews, and women. The wealthy, powerful white males are rushing to push us back into the 50’s. When all is said and done, they are really cowardly little men who realize that their time of supremacy, the world over, is almost at an end and they are being as vicious as they can to hold back the inevitable. 45 is just the conduit and they will rid themselves of him and put Pence in his place as soon as they are secure in their influence. Having said this, their final victory is not a done thing. We have the numbers, the talent, and the buying power that we must wield unflinchingly and never give up. This will truly be a people’s revolution; do not expect any real help or leadership from Democrats in congress. Position is the most important thing for them and they will only do what they feel will keep them there.

Maybe Trump is frustrated that Melania is back in New York, maybe the guy is lonely and might need some lovin’ so he can focus.

I’ll just laugh…the charade of Republicans being the party of “fiscal responsibility” will be brought out into the sunshine!!! Yea, sunshine!!! Lies exposed. AGAIN!

Hill Republicans quake at Trump’s budget-busting wish list
Lawmakers have to choose between embracing Trump’s pricey agenda — or pushing back and risking his wrath.

You know…like more than $21 BILLION for a damn wall we DON’T NEED!!

Vote Vets is going to run that great ad they have out….DURING SNL! Because DT won’t make time to talk to them ( they have been rebuffed) and we all know that he makes time to watch SNL…that’s how he gets his “news” ! Good for them.

The governor is considering invalidating PBO’s designation of protecting this land. Unbelievable.

MO wrapped that up tight before she left; 2 million from donations to maintain it, her name literally in stone at the entrance below a commemorative pergola. Add this to MO’s popularity and the fact that much of the produce goes to area charities that feed those I need, she knew that removing it would cause a firestorm, the likes of which she would never recover from. I am sure 45 is petty enough to want to plow it up, but someone got to him and told him how bad an idea this would be.
