Hi there folks, how are you?

  2. February 13, 2017 at 5:13 pm

#First. 🙂 Hello all. Along with all of you, I continue to grow more weary and worried and angry every day. No, every hour. IF there is an intelligence/counter-intelligence operation, I sure wish it could get all the snares in place and get every.last.one.of.these.creeps.

Trump (I’m playing with the idea of referring to him as Donald Gump, but I don’t want to offend Forrest) must have dictated that statement. I can hear him say, “Spell single s-i-g-n-a-l and spell there t-h-e-i-r. Yeah, that’s right.”

A friend sent me this link. This is the wowee bit:

‘ (6) On December 23, 2016, Senegal was one of four co-sponsors of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 (2016), which described the Israeli neighborhoods in the West Bank as illegally occupied. The resolution was adopted by a vote of 14–0 with the United States abstaining. ‘

Yes, 45 is taking the aid money appropriated for Senegal and giving it to Rwanda and Uganda, because ‘ rather than continuing to assist foreign governments that undermine our foreign allies, those dollars would be better spent in countries that support and defend the shared interests of the American people ‘– you know, like Rwanda and Uganda.

    https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/802/text

The other wowee bit is: who knew this was happening? And what else is quietly going on, while we stare, gobsmacked, at DT’s antics? Yikes.

            • February 14, 2017 at 7:58 am

Just like Melania seemed to think that being FL would promote her line and make her rich, all those cabinet appointees who obviously are not qualified for the job are doing it for self-benefit…I’m sure all behind the scene promises of 45. Just hope they don’t do to much (more) irreversible damage before they quit or are forced out.

Well…….looking at the MarALago stunt…….I am reminded of Versailles. I see DT as really Louis XVI, and Melania as Marie Antoinette. they are playing in a make-believe land and have no idea what is going on in people’s lives. They are isolated by their wealth and those courtiers around them fawn on them and make them feel untouchable.

My questions are: How long before the deplorables storm the Bastille, then take the revolution and mob to the interior of MarALago? It is inevitable. Trump can’t see it, and his sycophants can’t, or won’t…….but something like that will happen. This house is built on sand, not rock. It will fall.

    UGH: Steven Mnuchin confirmed

  30. 75 globalcitizenlinda
    February 13, 2017 at 7:56 pm

Ms. Susanne posted a link to an article which states that the homegrown demagogue and his team are taking aid money away from Senegal and giving it to Rwanda and Uganda as a punishment for the UN vote on Israel.

here is something else some of you may not know but I am very aware of as Uganda is my country of birth which I left as a result of the political persecution from the current dictator who has in power for the past 30 years.

Rwanda’s president is also another authoritarian who has been in power for more than 20 years and recently nullified the constitution clause to essentially enable him to become president for life.

Rwanda’s dictator and Uganda’s dictator fought together as members of the armed rebellion that overthrew Uganda’s government.

After they seized power in Uganda, years after, they then pushed into Rwanda and overthrew that president during what some of you may have heard of as Rwandan Genocide that has been presented in different films and documentaries.

Both dictators have ambitions to become the first head of a United Africa and have drive the push to get Africa out of the Human Rights Court in the Hague and to not be bound by the Hague Conventions.

they both pretend to be born-again Christians and are financially supported by the US evangelical extremist to import US social policies to their respective countries.

So we have the US major-league scumbag embracing those two African minor-league scumbags who are responsible for such a loss of life and current oppression of their people.

    • 76 globalcitizenlinda
      February 13, 2017 at 7:58 pm

But perhaps what is driving the decision of the homegrown demagogue and his advisors is the economic corruption they could engage in by stealing more African resources. You see

      – Uganda recently discovered that it has a large petroleum deposit and is handing out contracts to individuals and companies that can exploit is such a way that the money goes to the dictator and his ruling tribe;

      – Uganda and Rwanda have been actively stealing diamonds, gold, timber, and rare metals (used in electronics) from the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Congo. the two dictators fund the forces that are killing the civilians or forcing them to mine the minerals under what is modern-day slave-like conditions

remember who the new US secretary of state is???

Thank you, Linda, for all this incredible information and insight. My concerns about 45 and the Republicans punishing Senegal for voting with other sane nations against increased West Bank settlement was focused more on the shocking and arbitrary funneling of our tax dollars to influence international votes. The Republicans are having a field day in the quiet edge of DT’s noisy daily tantrums, and we have no idea what is going on.

Reading the document I linked to above ( https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/802/text ) I was furious about so many things– are they really saying taking x$ from Senegal and giving it to Rwanda and Uganda is because of the deficit? And is that really the deficit? And are we really a broke nation? Of course not, and yet these are the reasons given for this action. Plus, you know, that little Israel thingy.

Now I also know about the oil thingy and the ‘Christain’ thingy, and all the rest of what you reported. Again, thank you for expanding on this topic so fully. And thank you TOD for being the extraordinary community you are. ❤

        Just like this: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-tax-returns-idUSKBN15S2GZ

A congressional tax oversight committee will not seek U.S. President Donald Trump’s tax returns despite calls from Democrats for a review to determine possible business ties to foreign countries including Russia, the panel’s Republican chairman said on Monday.

Defying decades of precedent, Trump has refused to release his tax documents, which Democrats say could show whether his business empire poses any conflicts of interest as he moves forward on issues ranging from tax reform to foreign relations.

“If Congress begins to use its powers to rummage around in the tax returns of the president, what prevents Congress from doing the same to average Americans?” House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady told reporters.

“Privacy and civil liberties are still important rights in this country, and (the) Ways and Means Committee is not going to start to weaken them.”

The Texas Republican was responding to questions about a Feb. 1 letter from Representative Bill Pascrell, a Ways and Means Democrat who asked Brady to obtain Republican Trump’s returns from the U.S. Treasury so the committee could review them in closed session and vote on whether to make them public.

Pascrell later said he continued to hope for action, saying: “Our committee must respond by using its legal authority as Congress has in the past to provide proper oversight. This is Checks and Balances 101.”

Because, you know, why open THAT can of worms only to find MORE of a mess that Republicans then have to explain!! Oh, HELL NO! Sorry. I really hate them.

Since the time that Western Europeans, in particular the British, arrived on these shores, wealthy white men and their followers have had a strangle-hold on the country. By and large, the only things that happen is what they allow. Even when for short period of times it appeared that their influence had waned, that was not so. They have always worked, day and night, behind closed doors to make sure that they retained true power. It is unbelievable to me that so many in the middle class have not learned that lesson. 45, who does not command the type of wealth and influence that these men do (he is merely a wannabe), is their surrogate. 45 will take all of the heat and the hatred while they get what they want while publicly maintaining a distance. When 45 becomes a liability to their interest, they will tell the republicans in congress to start taking steps to remove him.

if we ordinary people can see the public corruption that is taking place around the homegrown demagogue(e.g. at his Mar-a-Lago Club, the White House, and other locations), it is past time that we demand that those in power start conducting serious investigations about this.
