This is exactly how Trump acts. He’s such a buffoon with absolutely no shame. This is all just a hustle for him and a ticket to get awful things done for the rest of the GOP. The only good thing about Trump is that his administration is so scandalous that it’s imploding already.

“Trump treasury pick Mnuchin misled Senate on foreclosures, Ohio cases show”

      http://www.dispatch.com/news/20170129/trump-treasury-pick-mnuchin-misled-senate-on-foreclosures-ohio-cases-show

President Donald Trump’s nominee for U.S. treasury secretary was untruthful with the Senate during the confirmation process, documents uncovered by The Dispatch show.

Steve Mnuchin, former chairman and chief executive officer of OneWest Bank, known for its aggressive foreclosure practices, flatly denied in testimony before the Senate Finance Committee that OneWest used “robo-signing” on mortgage documents.

But records show the bank utilized the questionable practice in Ohio.

    More lies….just resign

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) on Thursday sought to refute Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s claim that his contact with Russia was because he was a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

A Sessions spokesman insisted that the contact with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was in his capacity as a member of the Armed Services Committee, not as a surrogate for Trump’s presidential campaign.

But McCaskill, also a member of the committee, tweeted that she has never had contact with the ambassador in her capacity on the Armed Services Committee.

My email from the Democrats just now:

    Friend —

Jeff Sessions met with the Russian ambassador twice during the 2016 campaign. Then, he told the Senate — under oath — that he didn’t.

Jeff Sessions cannot oversee the investigation into the Trump administration’s ties to Russia. But recusing himself from the investigation is no longer enough — Sessions must resign as Attorney General.

Call the Department of Justice’s public comment line at 202-353-1555. Demand that Jeff Sessions resign and that his successor appoint a special prosecutor to oversee the investigation.

And he’s doing it openly, with no show of guilt. The GOP is so busy covering their a$$, they’re not even questioning it.

For that matter, why aren’t Democrats questioning how much all this is costing? Why isn’t the media? We should get a daily and cumulative tally about how much it’s costing for security in New York and whenever he visits his “winter/Southern” white house. That amount should be compared to what 45 and the GOP is proposing to take from working/lower income people in the form of health insurance repeal and reductions/elimination of safety nets.

    Hey there.
Anyone know how to contact Whoopi Goldberg?
The panel of women on The View today didn’t know much about Jeff Sessions. Yet they had a fairly long ‘discussion’.
There was a big intro and then they didn’t know Sessions was the Trump Campaign National Security Chair. And there was no mention of him being AG. All I heard (and I had to stop listening) was that he is “just a Senator” who had lied to Congress.

  42. March 2, 2017 at 1:14 pm

        Good Afternoon, arapaho415,

Yeah, you would think wouldn’t you. Seems that they are doing their darndest to justify Sessions’ actions as normal to his Senate position as opposed to that he was acting in his capacity as a 45 campaign staffer/surrogate.

I’m also hating the calls for allowing Sessions to “clarify” his statement. I repeat, he was pretty adamant about not communicating with any Russians. Appears he also said “NO” on a written questionnaire.

I just wonder how many people will go down once Sessions is forced to recuse himself or resign. The cover up is already crumbling.

Current GOP elected officials can’t see beyond their greed (lower taxes for me! more lobbyists money in my pockets as we dismantle all regulations and sell off nature’s gift to our country, our federal lands! etc.).

No tax returns, no blind trust, no divestment: Donald Trump has ignored calls to put his country before his business. From foreign bank loans to deals with Russian oligarchs, there’s evidence of serious ethics violations ahead.

Among the wealthiest presidents—by his own measure—in the history of the United States, Trump is possibly the most conflicted and indebted. He is also the only president in modern times to resist separating himself from his business interests—and the potential for corruption and self-enrichment—in a way that meets the barest ethics standards. Given the risks to the legitimacy of his presidency, why won’t he?

One minute, I hate CNN Breaking News. The next, they are music to my ears.
    ———

The Russian cloud hovering over the Trump White House engulfed Attorney General Jeff Sessions Thursday following revelations he failed to disclose pre-election meetings with the Kremlin’s ambassador to Washington.

Pressure for Sessions to recuse himself from any involvement in an FBI probe into links between the Trump campaign and Moscow is becoming intense, as prominent Republicans break ranks with the administration.

President Donald Trump has not yet commented on Sessions. The White House learned from press reports Wednesday that Sessions had contacts with the Russian ambassador during the campaign, a senior administration official said.

Several Republicans, many of them increasingly uneasy about the implications of the evolving Russian drama, called on Sessions to recuse himself from any involvement in an FBI probe into ties between the Trump campaign and Moscow.

“Attorney General Sessions should recuse himself to ensure public confidence in the Justice Department’s investigation,” said Sen. Susan Collins, the Maine Republican who introduced Sessions at his confirmation hearing in January.

“I think the attorney general should further clarify his testimony. And I do think he should recuse himself,” said Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee.

“Jeff Sessions is a former colleague and a friend, but I think it would be best for him & for the country to recuse himself from the DOJ Russia probe,” said Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, in a statement.

“Attorney General Sessions should recuse himself from any investigation into Russia,” said Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California, in a statement. “We need a clear-eyed view of what the Russians actually did so that all Americans can have faith in our institutions.”

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Sessions should recuse himself if he’s part of an ongoing probe.

“If he, himself, is the subject of an investigation, of course he would,” Ryan told reporters Thursday. “But if he’s not, I don’t see any purpose or reason to doing this.”

Democrats, sensing new vulnerabilities for the administration in the widening intrigue over alleged Russian interference in last year’s presidential race, called on Sessions to resign, saying he lied in his Senate confirmation hearing.

The latest fast-moving developments dealt a fresh blow to the White House, abruptly ending President Donald Trump’s victory lap after his well-received address to Congress.

That’s especially annoying when, whenever PBO was doing an event, it seemed that the MSM was not even aware of it, or they would show selected snippets after the fact with their purposeful commentary. I would have to hope that there was some online source from which I could watch PBO events.

One minute, there was no intel gained in the Yemen raid, the next one, this.

Several US officials say the United States is taking action to locate and monitor hundreds of people found as part the intelligence retrieved during the deadly raid last month in Yemen targeting al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.

Some of these people are believed to be in the West, but not in the United States.

The government is taking action to find and monitor these AQAP-linked individuals because of the threat they may pose to Europe, the officials added.

The fact that officials said they are actively pursuing leads uncovered from the raid indicates that the intelligence was indeed actionable despite some media reports to the contrary.
