PBO called us to protect our democracy, many are responding in different ways; here is one which I had not yet heard of … and how timely it is:

President Obama stand heads above the rest.

That chump running between PA Avenue and Florida not fit to shine PBO shoes. He is a waste.

Jim Hines: “The President can’t “order” a wiretap.
They are ordered by a judge if there is 1) possible crime, or 2) possible foreign agent involved.
      Also: “Aaaaaaaand, we’re back!”
Also: “So Donald Trump is either lying, or he declassifed a judicial warrant possibly targeting him. I think we need to know which it is.”

All of this! Words mean something and no one knows this better than PBO and the staff he headed. The subtext is that there was wiretapping, but neither he nor anyone on his staff ordered it. Orange Cheeto is running scared and trying to deflect. His jealousy of PBO and his knowledge, which became more than clear when the two had their one-on-one meeting, that he is nowhere near the man and the leader that PBO is. His pettiness and inability to see how things affect anyone other than himself, is leading him to destroy as many things that PBO did in a vain effort to get back at him. This white man in his orange mask knows that he will never be better or even equal to PBO and it galls him. He sees PBO behind every failing (the protesters, the media that is keeping the Russian connection story alive, the judges, and anyone else who is not running to kiss his tarnished ring and his saggy behind) rather than admit he is the cause of all of his problems. He was like the little boy who had his faced pressed against the window looking longingly at things he could not have (like PBO’s respect or his fear) when he insisted to O’Reilly that the president liked him. ‘Yes, I could tell that he likes me; I know these things, when people like me, but I can’t tell you.” he insisted. Really?? AND ad Mrs. Robinson’s name to the list whose name he better keep out of his mouth.

Trump was born on third base and into money; Barack was born to a single mother that survived on food stamps. Trump’s father gave him a million dollars to get started in business. Barack met his father one time when he was a child and spent one month with him and never saw him again. At every chance this country gave Trump everything he needed to make it. Barack had to fight for everything he ever got, and whatever he got he had to fight for it. Barack had to bare his soul to the American people in order for them to vote for him, Trump insulted his way to the Presidency. Bush was right when he said “the haves and the have-mores, Barack was a have-not.” Trump never had the hair on the back of his neck stand up as the police pulled up behind him, maybe his chauffer did but he certainly didn’t. Trump never had to worry about institutions treating him a certain way because of the color of his skin. Trump was never “red-lined” by the banks or had his neighborhood go through gentrification, unless a millionaire moved out and a billionaire moved in. Trump probably has never been followed in a department store, unless it was the department store manager following him to the section of the store that displayed his made in China ties. And now here we are, as the walls close in on Trump and his administration. He’s still trying to blame his failures on the black guy. In Trump’s eyes Barack is no better than those five black boys that were falsely accused of raping that jogger in central park years ago. In Trump’s eyes Barack is no better than all the black men that have ever been falsely accused of committing a crime. To be honest I hate talking about race, I really do. I hate sounding like a broken record. Because once I get started it messes up my day, mentally it puts me in a place that I don’t want to be. Sometimes it takes me away from enjoying the things that I should be enjoying. As a black man I couldn’t run away from race even if I wanted to. I mean I could, I could be one of those black men that down-play race just to get along. But then when I’m alone I would have to start drinking just to stay sane, or find another way to soothe that searing pain that eats me up knowing that really deep down inside no matter how hard I try I will never be able to escape racism’s ever reaching tentacles. Black men like Dr. Ben Carson and Herman Cain know what racism is, they’ve lived it many times over. But sadly they’ve traded away their station in life just to get along. Trust me, in the middle of the night when they are alone with their thoughts, they can’t run or hide. That’s when it hurts them the most.

I know. Our pain is real and the reality of living Black in America, is the drum beat that we never escape. There is nothing we can do to escape it because we are hated just for being. This misbegotten election brought up to me, front and center, some things that I had tried to beat back with the knowledge of some social movement forward and the fact that much of my family is multi-cultural, but that night as I checked the vote, and saw the data on exactly who voted for 45 (don’t believe the lie about poor, low information voters), the awful, unvarnished truth, has eaten at me like a cancer. Everyday is a fight to beat down bitterness and hatred as I go out in the world. Who among the white people that I see everyday in the shops, at the doctors’ offices, in the restaurants, etc. who smile at me voted for this corrupt, selfish, and foolish man who is setting the world on fire that can consume us all. Some days are better than others, but it is a struggle.

My two-fold question: how long will it take for ‘damage control handlers’, ie, President Bannon and VP Priebus to get to ‘the winter white house’, and do we have to pay for their travel, although neither holds an elected position, or is qualified to be in the positions they hold, albeit not for much longer at this rate! I think striped prison uniforms would look lovely, maybe even with Ivanka’s label- yes, Karma is everlastingly sweet. 👊🏼

Can you imagine living with this type of fear, families living on the edge, peeking out the window every time a car or van pulls into your driveway. Can you imagine telling a family member to stay inside the house and don’t answer the doorbell?

      • March 4, 2017 at 2:59 pm

I really can’t tolerate what we’re seeing. Imagine being a very small child and all of a sudden you can’t go to school, can’t play outside with your Dad, can’t go down and get an ice cream cone with your grandmother. It’s so harsh, so inhumane, so ugly and ruinous, all the while Trump bleating how he was going to be so kind about all this. I really just want to scream that anyone ever believed his psycho crap on any given day. He’s a TYRANT and he will face justice. Some day, he will get what’s coming to him.

    • 87 CEB
      March 4, 2017 at 3:43 pm

The military came to PBO in 2013 about providing protection for undocumented family members of those serving; they were so worried about their families, that it was hard to perform their duties. PBO granted their request and this policy (do not remember the name of it) was one of the first things 45 has rescinded. Who does he think the military is mostly made up of, certainly not lily-white well-to-do-kids like his own. I hope that Brown, Black, and poor whites stop enlisting in the military; they are mostly used as cannon fodder and service personnel. Let the US see what its forces would look like without them.
Another thing that everyone but 45 and the haters know: they are creating fertile ground for wide radicalization of America’s youth. Young people are not going to sit around singing, and praying, and marching into teargas, batons, and bullets. As more and more of them feel that they have nothing to live for and no place in this country, expect devastating violence.

The one that depicts Bannon as a pig with 45 sucking on his teats is the most vicious and truthful. The world’s cartoonists should also take aim at the major groups who voted for him: the greedy one percenters, the evangelicals, the self-hating women, the misogynists, the hate groups.

    Good Saturday to you all

I wanted to ask for your help. While we all chase the Russia Story, Republicans are planning on repealing the ACA without a budget score, and without showing it to anyone until it is on the floor.

STRATEGY FOR AREAS with a R SENATOR or CONGRESSPERSON

Get on the phone and leave a message with their local office today and EVERDAY until we win this thing.

Tell them – NO SECRET BILL, let us publicly debate what it will cost in $$ and in human suffering.

Show up at their local offices, be brave and be strong.

Then call 10 people you know and ask them to do the same thing

    STRATEGY FOR BLUE DISTRICTS

Join a Virtual bank from home (where you use a tablet or computer to access names, phone # and a script) and call into TN, AZ, Maine, NV or AK.

Send me a note if you need links to make these calls. Everyone needs to do this

Here is our latest update on the Republican plan

REPUBLICAN PLAN TO RUSH THRU ACA REPEAL

There will be a bill released on Monday that will then go to markup in both Ways and Means and E&C on Wednesday/Thursday. It will more or less be what we saw in the earlier draft, with a few modifications for the worse. It will not be scored and there will probably not be amendments.

Presuming passage, it will go to the Budget Committee the following week and then to Rules on 3/20 or earlier–with the goal to have it to the Floor of the House on 3/23, which is the 7th anniversary of the passage of the ACA.

McConnell has committed to put the bill on the floor immediately, with no changes, following a Bryd bath, meaning it will be voted on before the Easter recess (4/7).

This is far more accelerated timeline than any of us were thinking, and we were assuming we would have process in the Senate (meaning it would go through Senate Committees however that is not the plan). We need to get as much done in the next 2 1/2 weeks as possible.

Thank you in advance for your help with this issue

Here you go, Trumpsters! A NEW TAX FOR YOU TO PAY!

Chao says U.S. drivers may face more tolls to raise infrastructure funds

    Source: Washington Post

Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao this past week raised the prospect that needed infrastructure improvements may be funded to some extent by imposing tolls on more of the nation’s roads and bridges.

    –snip–

“To launch our national rebuilding, I will be asking Congress to approve legislation that produces a $1 trillion investment in infrastructure of the United States,” Trump said in Tuesday’s address to a join session of Congress.

    –snip–

Beyond repeated calls to draw private investment, however, the White House had not reiterated its campaign promise to raise at least of portion of the money through new tolls. Even if investors attracted by the 82 percent tax credit Trump said he hopes to offer, they would expect an additional return on their money, and when it comes to roads and bridges, that cash would come from imposing new tolls.

“The federal government cannot assume the cost for all of it,” Chao said Tuesday night in a Fox News interview after Trump’s address, reiterating a point she made during her Senate confirmation hearing. She told Fox host Sean Hannity that “new and innovative ways” were necessary to find funding.
