:/ There I was wishing that on this day off I’d be able to sneak in first when I signed on!

    Ah well, Morning/afternoon folks! 🙂
It feels good to be able to sidle towards the village on a ‘vacation’ day and know that the gate will be open. THANKS, Ms NerdyW ….. and thanks also to all our regulars. To be part of a group like our TOD family makes the medicine easier to swallow ….sometimes.

Hi, Pf! These days, when I get around to showing my face (after trying to deal with my current valley experiences with extended family) it’s usually late at night and I’m 2/3 asleep. So, I try to catch up but keep my lips zipped.

Son is doing fine (he says). 🙂 🙂 I haven’t seen him since Christmas, though as far as I can gather he is working seriously on his Master’s thesis. :/

I trust you, your daughter, and dancing grand-gee are still all doing well despite the idiot in the WH.

Well, hello there, LPlains – nice to run into you this sunny, but cold, morning! I see your resident researcher is still very much on the job! 😀 [I bet *our* president would have turned around and acknowledged the kids positively for a sec.]

      • March 10, 2017 at 12:46 pm

Howdy, VC! “…sunny, but cold” describes Indianapolis too. It was ~70 yesterday now 30-40s all next week. My researcher was following the impeachment of Park Geun-hye in Korea last night while I was sleeping so I wouldn’t miss anything 😎

Funny, however, I would have been really impressed if he had picked his son up and continued with his comment. The interviewer was not rattled and seemed like he wanted to play. The nanny probably caught he’ll after this as the father seemed humorless.

I think black people and white people are seeing Trump’s Presidency through two totally different lenses. I call it the “before and after theory.” White people are more concerned with what Trump will do with the Presidency now that he has it. Black people are asking themselves how America allowed Trump to become President in the first place. Fascinating.

    • March 10, 2017 at 2:42 pm

      March 11, 2017 at 10:14 am

Bill I think many people are concerned about both. People who felt we were a better country than that, could not fathom that many people being attracted to Trump and actually voting for him. I feel real despair at the level of racism and misogyny that t45’s election reflects. I also struggle about how he is damaging our country. Right now I am focusing on how to fight the monster and not be trapped in the fear and despair.

It all really easy to be very afraid, but we know it doesn’t help anyone or anything. So, coming up: Sunday 12th March 2017, Full Moon at 22♍️13, 10:54am EDT, 7:54amPDT. Yes, as we will be ushering in Daylight Saving time, and we will all have remembered to set the clocks FORWARD, at 2:00am. We will also be celebrating Purim, so we have a very busy day, and won’t have time to be afraid. 🌏🌕🌈🌸👊🏼

The latest to be added to the list: the No Taxpayer Revenue Used to Monetize the Presidency Act, otherwise known as the No TRUMP Act.

The bill, introduced Thursday by Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore., would prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for events, overnight stays, food or other expenses at hotels owned or operated by a president or his relatives.

Blumenauer said he’s long been concerned about Trump’s refusal to divest his ownership stake in the Trump Organization. The issues have become more evident with reports of taxpayers footing bills for Secret Service and embassy officials to travel with Trump’s children on a business trip and as government officials spend time at Trump facilities.

“It’s a very real problem that he’s further enriching his enterprises,” Blumenauer said.

This nonsense reminds me of the Charles Stuart case:
Charles “Chuck” Stuart (December 18, 1959 – January 4, 1990) was an American suspect in a 1989 Boston area murder that generated national headlines. Stuart falsely alleged that his wife and unborn child were shot and killed by an African-American assailant. Stuart’s brother confessed to police that the crime was committed by Stuart to collect life insurance, and Stuart subsequently committed suicide. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Stuart_(murderer)

During this period, several high profile homicide cases seemed to always involve the white perp accusing an imaginary black man of the crime. It seemed to happen so much that when black folks heard it was a black buy they knew their white accuser was the guilty party.

      • 92 purpleshoesla
        March 10, 2017 at 5:34 pm

No, its to reduce if not eliminate the pipeline of DOJ criminal &civil actions and pending investigations in whatever DOJ divisions these US attorneys worked in against those in violation of federal law/regs. Then fill those positions with other attorneys that will be in lockstep with Sessions’ enforcement focus.e.g black & brown folks, immigrants, pot.

Federal judges are nominated separately by the Marmalade Mussolini and confirmed by the Senate.

They go to a city where 45 has the seat of his tawdry kingdom and are greeted with applause, cheers and shouts of “I love you.” They look beautiful and rested, eating lunch with all of the “best people.” I like the description of them as the” two most powerful social activists.” Meanwhile, 45 crouches in the White House surrounded by bottom-of-the barrel sycophants and people who see him as the hapless vehicle for their ambitions and policy ideas. No love (if Melania was there, there would still be no love), no friends, no real respect. Everyday he looks out of the window and sees protesters who deplore everything that he is and what he represents. The media that once seemed so supportive is more critical than they have ever been and he cannot make the Russia situation go away. Healthcare and everything about governing is harder than he thought and everyone has an opinion that he must heed. The Deplorable One is not having a good time, while the profile of the man he hates and admires, gets higher and higher. We are suffering and so is he; karma.

For 8 years, Native people had a real seat at the table and the ear of the president who was an adopted brother. PBO put every department at their disposal, their ideas and concerns were listened to and there were real-life solutions. They were treated with respect and as partners. When PBO and MO visited Indian Country, they spent so much time listening to the concerns of the young people, that they were a bit late for another planned activity. They took these young people to their hearts as they have done with so many others, even going so far as to personally host a group of them in DC months later. Now, they, like so many of us, feel their loss, but they helped them and us to fight on for our people, our communities, our fellow citizens and the stranger. PBO was truly named “He Who Cares for People Across the Land” by his Crow family. Thousands are now following his example.

      • March 10, 2017 at 7:27 pm

We (Americans) are just beginning to understand what we lost in the last election…even the white folks who voted for Trump might be able to see…i think that is why Trump put PBO’s name in his mouth…and why Sessions and the GOP Congress need to keep PBOs name alive…their racism is the one thing that binds them together…can’t let go of that Southern Strategy

Yeah it pissed me so much I’m still raging. But I took it to mean TRUMP is being investigated under a FISA warrant which would be thru the FBI’s extremely secretive counter-intelligence unit. When a black man figures in a white man’s lie, you know the white man is guilty as hell.

Lenticular clouds are stationary lens-shaped clouds that form in the troposphere, normally in perpendicular alignment to the wind direction.

          GM JO’B.

Lenticular clouds have always been my favorite, since I learned as a teen that they’ve been mistaken for UFOs, LOL.

We so rarely have cloud formations in SoCal — it’s usually either cloudless skies or low clouds (rain) and/or fog (drizzle). That’s one reason I’m so in love with states like AZ and NM — their norm is for 360-degree sunsets, and since most regions of these states don’t have forests to obstruct the view, their sunsets are simply breathtaking.

Taking a break from trying to figure out the tangled web of connections between Michael Flynn, the State Department, the FBI (Comey), DOJ (Jeff Sessions) and DJT — the FUBAR administration is like a room full of onions — you have peel the whole bunch to see the layers of clandestine actions, and then try to connect every layer of each onion to all the other onions in the room. Then you might have a (very smelly) idea of the web of intrigue involved in this undemocratic executive branch…

See you later today, hopefully. No plans for Saturday, except for puttering around with my patio plants. 🙂
