Great tweet! Trump has no problem killing people through lack of health care and adequate food and shelter for the children, the elderly and the homeless. He is not even interested in saving all Americans from environmental catastrophes that are caused by man made global climate change. Trump wants all our tax dollars to be spent on getting rid of non-white immigrants and on creating the biggest military force to rule the whole world and restore white supremacy.

In certain areas, in Los Angeles Meals on Wheels is free. In Pasadena, you have to pay a small fee if you make above a certain income level other wise it’s free.

Republicant’s DON’T CARE! You can be/say racist things, assault women/children, lie, cheat, steal, threaten to kill people, take away their healthcare, jobs and turn this country over to Russians. There are only two things these monsters will not tolerate is taking their guns away and abortion…..maybe discriminating against the church could be the 3rd holy graille. Like PBO said, all they want are guns, bibles, and save the fetus starve the child.

There is a great chance for him to win.
My sister attended the meeting and she said people are very excited and energized. The are knocking on doors and making call in the district. GA-06 is her district and I’m thrilled she “finally” caught the campaign volunteer bug.
I’ve made a couple of $5.00 campaign contributions. If we can spread the word that $5.00 from a whole lot of people will be a great help to the campaign.

Was at my local district meeting earlier tonight. One of our members is working diligently on phone banking for Ossoff in GA6. He’s doing phone banks in his home once or twice a week. He gave us a report tonight. So far they have contacted 1000 people and at least 900 (probably more) did not even know there was going to be a special election. I found this so discouraging but not too surprised. I wonder how much the DNC and other Dem groups are working there?

On a positive local note: We had 30 people at our district meeting tonight. Last month there was around 25. We barely had room for everyone. Good problem to have, huh? We elected our precinct chairs and got our instructions for our county elections next week. 3000 at the rally last night in Nashville………good showing for this red state.

Hannity is truly a poster child of white male privelege! Here is a deranged, college drop-out, white male who earns millions of dollars peddling lies, nonsense, conspiracy theories and racial/religious hatred.Like his hero/mentor, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity is also a chicken-hawk! Poor Juan Williams. I bet you Hannity would never have dared to point a gun at a Black, or Hispanic, or Asian, or a woman, military veteran!

    • March 17, 2017 at 9:59 am

Yet he is still there. Hannity can get away with saying he was just fooling around (if he is using that excuse). Fox should have taken this seriously and Hannity should have been fired. Juan Williams should file a complaint…with/against the company and file charges against Hannity with the police… and be very vocal about the situation.

Realizing my favorite tv shows have usually been government dramas like West Wing, Madame Secretary, House of Cards and Designated Surviver. Most of those shows have a very dramatic and some have an outlandish plot, at least that is what I thought up till now. Now our real life situation under this President, cabinet, majority in Congress and even GOP majority chosen Supreme Court are decimating our government. I even worry about our reaction to shows of toughness by North Korea and other rouge leaders. I see the SOS acting in an unusual manner along with the President. The cuts in the diplomatic section and build-up of military along with the bluster of the President makes a very precarious situation for all of us. The movies pale next to our actual situation.

I didn’t understand either but they use to send those “this is a test of the emergency alert system” announcements via our TV and the radio which was a clear indication that something bad could happen and we did do those under the desk drills in school.

You would think that we would have better sense than to agitate a nutjob who has nukes but this country went and elected a nutjob to the highest office in the land so who knows….

          These are scary times 😯

          • March 17, 2017 at 10:38 am

I remember those drills, too. It was so frightening. And the informational films we had to watch about why we were doing it…….so surreal. I also have very clear memories of B&W TV news talking about the crisis. Children should never be subjected to these fears.

The flags in the lobby of the State Department stood bathed in sunlight and silence on a recent afternoon. “It’s normally so busy here,” marveled a State Department staffer as we stood watching the emptiness. “People are usually coming in for meetings, there’s lots of people, and now it’s so quiet.” The action at Foggy Bottom has instead moved to the State Department cafeteria where, in the absence of work, people linger over countless coffees with colleagues. (“The cafeteria is so crowded all day,” a mid-level State Department officer said, adding that it was a very unusual sight. “No one’s doing anything.”) As the staffer and I walked among the tables and chairs, people with badges chatted over coffee; one was reading his Kindle.

“It just feels empty,” a recently departed senior State official told me.

This week began with reports that President Donald Trump’s budget proposal will drastically slash the State Department’s funding, and last week ended with White House adviser and former Breitbart head Stephen Bannon telling the attendees of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference that what he and the new president were after was a “deconstruction of the administrative state.” At the State Department, which employs nearly 70,000 people around the world, that deconstruction is already well underway.

        From the piece:

A lot of this, the employee said, is because there is now a “much smaller decision circle.” And many State staffers are surprised to find themselves on the outside. “They really want to blow this place up,” said the mid-level State Department officer. “I don’t think this administration thinks the State Department needs to exist. They think Jared [Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law] can do everything. It’s reminiscent of the developing countries where I’ve served. The family rules everything, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs knows nothing.”

      • March 17, 2017 at 11:28 am

Wow, what a thoroughly depressing piece. Unfathomable how we could let this happen to our great country.

I know I’m really late to this feed, meta, but I had to respond. We didn’t “let this happen.” Even the larger “we”. It was taken from us with the help of the Russians, and now Bannon and his ilk. And a little help from the DNC who, again, focused on voters in the cities and did not address the concerns of the rural people in our country. And by not understanding what the Republicans have understood for over 20 years, and that is how the brain works. Read the work of George Lakoff to understand what I mean. The Republicans have this process down pat and they use it all day long. Every single one of them.

…”It is racism. When over 1.5 million of your citizens have been killed by firearms since 1968, but you focus your ire on the “threat” from refugees fleeing the carnage of a civil war, it is racism. When you lift the restrictions on people with mental illnesses from acquiring firearms but the very same day announce the establishment of an anti-immigrant crime agency, it is racism.” …
