I’ve emailed and I’ve called, but the main motherfuckers that should be up in arms about the possible passage of Trumpcare are the very motherfuckers that can least afford for it to pass. I’m so fucking pissed that these motherfuckers are going to fuck themselves out of healthcare all because they are a bunch of fucking racist pieces of shit. FUCK ALL OF THEME.

I hear you Don. I don’t understand it either. I was watching on TV last night all those sick people being interviewed from Kentucky and they are poor and on medicaid under ACA and they voted for Trump. One was even saying that he is still for Trump and that Trump still has time to “save this thing”. Until ACA was passed, most of them had never seen a doctor and had no preventive care and now their health problems are bring addressed and they still vote Trump. I found myself shouting at the TV and wishing really bad Karma at those same sick people and hoping their problems get worse. Heartless of me I know but the problem is other people who did not vote Trump will suffer as well and that is the tragedy.

Yep, its as though Trump has convinced them that walking over broken glass and hot coals will do them some good.

        • March 23, 2017 at 11:54 am

They are willing to go broke and die for a vile snake like Trump. That’s INSANE.

          • 22 Believe Again
            March 23, 2017 at 3:30 pm

No it is not INSANE but a choice based on prejudice whatever it may be. Sometimes it is based on misinformation. This is why it is important that they not be bailed out. The innocent will suffer with them, but they can perhaps prepare to mitigate the fall out from repeal or sabotage and leave the clueless and prejudiced to their nirvana until it hits the fan.

Thanks to the ACA/OBAMACARE implemented in March 2010: The private sector hasn’t lost jobs. Health care is an enormous engine of our economy: A record 1 in 9 jobs are now in the health care sector. We have the most U.S. job openings than ever before. Health care costs have risen at the slowest rate in 50 years; over 91% of Americans are insured for the first time in our history; hospitals saved $7 Billion; and we’ve the strongest economy in the world following the worst economic crisis since the 1920s. Unemployment cut in half. Health care inflation at its lowest rate in 50 years since the ACA passed. Consequently saving over $160 Billion to be directed towards the Medicare trust fund.

      • March 23, 2017 at 2:25 pm

You can have a primary care physician instead of the Emergency Room at huge cost to taxpayers. Since early 2010, 15.8 million jobs created, with a net gain of about 2 million health care workers. Under President Obama the deficit was cut by more than 75% while growing the economy with the longest streak of job creation on record. Rising health care costs seemed like no end in sight until the ACA/Obamacare was enacted in 2010.

        • March 23, 2017 at 2:27 pm

Rubio signed his family up for ACA coverage in 2013, as did Rand Paul and all of congressional leadership at the time.

Compassion. Something sorely lacking in some people. Yesterday I posted on my “nextdoor” neighborhood blog- that ap designed I believe by John Podesta, showing state/ district tallies of how many folks would lose healthcare. Two men didn’t believe it because John Podesta’s name was attached to it. Today a woman says it’s wrong, because when this healthcare bill passes, Maryland will just design their own healthcare system. She’s quite certain of herself. My response was simply to them all- No worries, believe what you want to believe, I am sure you’ll be fine.

Thus – EFF the rest of the country who maybe don’t have a dem congress who MIGHT be able to save their asses. I can’t even comment to people like this anymore- my anger and disgust is too close to the surface. I’m done trying to inform folks who choose to be ignorant or who just don’t give a damn about anyone else.

I would respond by saying, “all those TRUMP voters also didn’t believe he would touch Medicaid and that he would make healthcare available to all and cheaper”, you don’t see that happening do you! The GOP Trumpcare plan will do away with everything covered in the ACA just read it yourself if you don’t believe this! Back to cheap plans that don’t cover doctor visits or emergency care. See if you can post this.

        March 23, 2017 at 4:21 pm

Well Jo-jo I didn’t respond at all, just because I know when I’m up against abrick wall. This neighborhood is very mixed, but from what I’ve seen on the nextdoor blog, it’s primarily Caucasian and very vocal- and in my opinion- conservative. So I’ve now received a message from ‘nextdoor’ telling me that I’ve been reported by another or other members for my “healthcare” posting. This is exactly what I posted yesterday: Here is a tool/ website designed to let us see who will lose Healthcare in each state and district with the upcoming Trump/Ryan Healthcare bill. In MD-7 (district 7) 57,700 people will lose healthcare. Here’s the link. This is merely to inform us all: https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiN

So now it’s not even allowed in this new make America great world to inform folks- without other folks being so biased and so narrow minded. The email I received called this being “on my soapbox” – violating Nextdoor rules. Although right now there is an ongoing extremely nasty argument between folks about a methadone clinic being put in the area.. and trust me they’ve all been on their soap-box. Which is okay apparently as long as they are pro-Trump in the process. Done with this kind of nonsense.

I would remove the app and not bother with them or select a different neighborhood to follow. I am on Next Door too and they do post local races. There’s this one guy who is “Trump-Like” born with a silver spoon and all he does is bad mouth the incumbent with lies. I made a comment after hearing him in a panel and called his comments “trump-like” and that we did not need people like that in our town. People are starting to use my description of this guy. He lies just like Trump. I hope they don’t put him on the city counsel.

well so far my post wasn’t remove, so I’m leaving it up- I suspect the moderator isn’t going to remove it either. It was so middle of the road in how I worded it- the only folks who could take offense are the rabid trumpsters. Silly thing is I realized I put the wrong district on- we’re in MD-2 and I wrote MD-7 and no one has yet corrected me 😉 I was upset about it all yesterday- just to know these stupid people live so close to me.. am over it today. Thanks for your input and advice, jo-jo, I appreciate it.

“Epstein, who helped end the Boston Red Sox’s 86-year World Series title drought in 2004, saw his Cubs end their 108-year drought this past season. But he doesn’t necessarily agree with this honor. In a text to ESPN’s Buster Olney, Epstein said, “Um, I can’t even get my dog to stop peeing in the house. That is ridiculous. The whole thing is patently ridiculous. It’s baseball — a pastime involving a lot of chance. If [Ben] Zobrist’s ball is three inches farther off the line, I’m on the hot seat for a failed five-year plan. And I’m not even the best leader in our organization; our players are.”

  24. March 23, 2017 at 12:14 pm

POPSUGAR: It’s pretty clear from your book that you have a deep admiration and respect for Obama. Is it fair to say working for him made you a better person? Better at your job?

Alyssa Mastromonaco: I would say that Barack Obama not only made me a better person but made me better at my job. He’s one of the most intellectually curious people you’ll ever meet and really brings that out in other people. When I first got to the White House, I was super anxious all the time about not knowing the answer to every question. And Obama was actually the person who let me be me. He was like, “Alyssa’s not the person who wears the Ann Taylor suit. She’s not the kind of person who always says the exact right thing.” And I’m a bit of a wild animal. I brought a different perspective and I was a little bit more irreverent and casual.

PS: I teared up when I got to the end of the book and read the passage about him calling you after your beloved cat died. It was well after you’d resigned from your White House post.

AM: Just so you know, I had to reread that portion of my audiobook three or four times, because I cried every time. I, more than anybody, saw all the things that were on his plate every day. I felt other people maybe didn’t realize how much a note meant that he wrote them or a phone call. But I saw his thought process behind the few moments of free time he had and how he used them. So, I knew that him taking the time to call me meant he really cared and really deeply understood how upset I was. That’s what made it so meaningful….continued in link along w/excerpt from book

      GA LP!!!

Good to see you again (though as usual I’m behind here, you’re probably posting on those threads I’ve missed, LOL).

Now you’ve got me crying along with Alyssa — can totally relate, because I’m still not over the death of my favorite cat, and it’s been 30 years. 😦 And PBO understands the bonds of love, how vital they are to your life — whatever or whoever you passion is, that’s part of your essence. I cannot allow myself to consider for even a moment the contrast (aka polar opposites of) the Oval Office between New Year’s Day and now — the DJT family and his reprehensible cronies (Bannon, Mercer, etc.) seem like the lowest form of life, sub-human to me.

P.S. Poor Ann Taylor, her stock will drop (no idea if this company is traded on the NYSE or not), and will need to change its name if it has any hope of selling merchandise to Millennials, LOL.

    ————-
The perpetrator of the deadliest London terror attack in 12 years has been identified as a 52-year-old British man, Khalid Masood, police said.
“Masood was not the subject of any current investigations and there was no prior intelligence about his intent to mount a terrorist attack,” a Metropolitan Police statement said.

Masood, who was born in Kent and is thought to have been living in the West Midlands, had previous convictions for violence.

Police arrested eight people in raids around Britain, as an ISIS-affiliated news agency claimed that the extremist group was behind the outrage.
Prime Minister Theresa May earlier revealed that Masood was once linked to violent extremism. Her statement to Parliament came a day after it was locked down as the knife-wielding assailant breached its perimeter.

I agree with this entirely. I think with the breakdown of the family unit, divorces, high unemployment, low wage jobs, the drug epidemic, gun proliferation, high crime in the AA communities has taken a toll on AA women who shoulder quite a bit of the child rearing whether it’s their own kids or grandmas raising grandkids. There is less joy in some of our world due to discrimination in almost every aspect of our lives whether its renting an apartment, buying a home, taking a vacation, it does not let up sometimes.

And even though, percentage wise, A-A women are more highly educated than any other group, we are 4th in the pay scale. Furthermore, because it is open season on A-A, even those who are educated, working, and never been in jail (think about how Dr. Gates was treated), A-A women bear most of the burdens of keeping the community together; at church, on school campuses, on the job, the neighborhood and the home. We have been so busy being the backbone that we have never been able to be the one on the pedestal. With all that we do, we are still subjected to disrespect from men and women of all races. We are told that we are never enough on the one hand, while on the other so much about us is being co-opted by others. One of the many reasons that A-A women admire Michelle Obama so much is that she is always herself without apology.

I started to carry your analogy further, but decided that might be too graphic. The rethugs have no idea how to govern after spending 8 years saying no and voting to repeal the ACA. The only thing that they can do is follow orders from the truly powerful who own them. As long as they can keep their positions, which is the only thing that is important to them, they will follow their paymasters’ orders.
