Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Monday morning.
Nerdy, thanks so much for helping Ms. Chips and for the sacrifices you’re making for us TOD’ers. 💫🙏👌👊❤
To all, I hope that with your beautiful countenance you are not disdainfully arrogant, with all the good you have do not be selfish, and whatever your position in life is do not show haughtiness today. ❤ ❤ ❤
I am thankful to God that I lived to witness one of the greatest President of The United States of America in President Barack Hussein Obama ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆
On Merrick Garland:
LYING McConnell LYING to Todd yesterday when he said: “You don’t fill Supreme Court vacancies in the middle of a presidential election.”
The Senate has confirmed Supreme Court nominees both in election years and in the last year of a presidency — as recently as 1988, a presidential election year when a Dem Senate confirmed Reagan’s nomination of Justice Kennedy in the final year of his administration.
Grassley: “The reality is that the Senate has never stopped confirming judicial nominees during the last few months of a president’s term.”
Seven nominees have been confirmed during Presidential election years including:
(Pres. Reagan): Anthony Kennedy confirmed Feb 3, 1988 = 65 days.
(Pres. Roosevelt): Frank Murphy confirmed Jan 18, 1940 = 12 days.
SCOTUSBLOG:
“The historical record does not reveal any instances since at least 1900 of the president failing to nominate and/or the Senate failing to confirm a nominee in a presidential election year because of the impending election. In that period, there were several nominations and confirmations of Justices during presidential election years. “
If you need a break from all the cray cray in D.C., check out the 2 darling little fluff balls at dceaglecam.org. Mr President and First Lady, a pair of wild bald eagles, again have 2 darling babies, born a week ago, for us to watch grow up over the next 1O weeks. Lots of great info to read on that website.
And if you live in the SF Bay Area you can watch the wild ospreys in Richmond sfbayospreys.org. They have laid 1 of a possible 3 eggs so far. These eggs will hatch in early May, so we have a bit of time before we get to enjoy the wobbly antics of newborns.
Enjoy everyone, and have a great Monday. Let’s get this filibuster done!!
Good morning Cathleen, I’ve been watching the D.C. Eagles since seeing TFL laid her eggs. The babies are named DC 4 & DC 5 and they are a handful and so cute! Definitely stress reliever 😊
My favorite is when a parent is feeding them and one of them opens their mouth so wide they lose their precarious balance and fall over backwards. Shouldn’t laugh, but it is so darn cute.
Good morning to you, too, Gail. Hope all is well with you.
I’ve been watching this year since about a week before hatching, and for most of last year’s brood. Of course last year I didn’t need the constant stress reliever I need this year. Thank goodness they returned and that both babies hatched and seem to be doing well.
Forgot to mention there should be a naming contest soon for the babies. Sorry but I think it’s for school children only. Last year’s 2 babies were named Freedom and Liberty. Something we are sorely in need of right now. Wonder what they will be called this year?
Susan Rice is trending on Twitter. Fox is reporting that she unmasked names in security reports. I don’t know what that means; but, if she did what are the consequences?
I think that the present SCOTUS ruling unanimously against him in this matter is pretty telling. The’re obviously aware that he’s going through the nomination process and it can’t look good for him to be ruled against in this way. I think it sends a pretty strong message about how the present SCCOTUS judges feel about his nomination.
Hundreds of protesters descend on Ivanka's $5 million DC home (well, she is part of the administration) while neighbor watches in delight. pic.twitter.com/mrOUuRMCqj
This is too damn funny and much deserved, but also sad that this is where we are in regard to who is governing us. Love the lady who came to watch dressed in furs and sipping wine; this is how the wealthy ride.
Good. What qualifications (except being Trump’s daughter) does she have to hold a White House Office in the first place? Talk about entitlement syndrome.
Good but it would have been great if Democrats as a whole had stood together against Gorsuch on the principle that Republicans don’t get to steal a SCOTUS vacancy from President Obama. Republicans would have done that. Look how Republicans stood together against President Obama over and over again.
In all of this reporting and speculation about why so many whites voted for the deplorable one is disingenuous. The only thing that people need to know is why 99% Black people and 67% brown people and others did not.
Dem Sen. Michael Bennet opposes Gorsuch filibuster.(Gorsuch is from Col. too & Bennet is former employee of Phil Anschutz, Gorsuch's patron) pic.twitter.com/fuXqRU9yDB
It was GOP that unconstitutionally blocked President Obama’s SC nominee.
Merrick Garland’s SC nomination languished for 310 days. After 30 years of voting for Supreme Court nominees, McConnell refused to consider President Obama’s nominee. McConnell LIED when he said SCOTUS candidates cannot be confirmed in an election year:
He voted to confirm Kennedy in 1988. http://www.senate.gov/reference/resources/pdf/16_1988.pdf
So WaPo saying Cardin, Coons, King, and Menendez are still wavering. Michael Bennet has said he won’t support the filibuster, but did he say he is a YES on Gorsuch? Come on, Democrats, don’t join Heitkamp, Manchin, and Donnelly in going GOP on this critical vote!
Yep. Democrats have no problem confirming a stolen SCOTUS vacancy and thus supporting a President who is under investigation for treason. Just called and left a voicemail with Cardin. I’m shocked that he’s “wavering”. Wavering about what? He has really been disappointing and I hope someone runs against him next time around.

They may take it as a badge of honor, but there are Democrats in red states also. Republicans stick together, while Democrats take their base for granted.
there were Dems in PA who voted for Trump and Stein…not sure i know what it means to be a DEM any more…i know about the principles and issues that Democrats claim to believe in…but how much do they really believe it…
I posted a tweet thread last night referencing 2 (long) articles of interest:
1) BBC last month
2) Forbes on Kushner in Nov 2016 (like Tillerson, he doesn’t grant media interviews… articles says they’re the only media who has interviewed Prince Jared).
The uproar re: Kushner’s twitter account was for naught; as of late Nov, he had never tweeted (doubt he started once DJT [allegedly] “won” the election):
.@Forbes 3/ about the Trump campaign or his role in it."@Forbes mentions Kushner has a verified Twitter account since Apr 2009, but hadn't tweeted.
.@Forbes 6/ An unnamed Obama Adm. official said the third step in Russian interference would be for Russia to "download the online voter rolls." pic.twitter.com/EKUz9pUvQb
The deplorable one and his wealthy wrecking crew make up the real so-called “imperial presidency.” When they lobbed this designation at PBO it was a dog-whistle for a Black man not “knowing his place” and for “uppity.” Well, 44 who was a true servant of the people and a constitutional leader, is off enjoying his retirement on a Polynesian Island as the bucks and the accolades roll in, while the one so many chose is ripping them off and trying to destroy everything that benefit us all. When the wrecking ball crashes through, it takes down everything in its path. So those who voted to take the rights of others away and to make life more difficult for those they hated are now finding that they are part of the rubble as well. Karma is a bitch that cannot and will not be controlled; she will come for you.
On Gorusuch: “The reality is that when it comes to choosing between acts of Congress, legal protections and everyday Americans, or corporations, he’s going to find a way to rule with the corporations almost every single time.”
(Goldberg, legal director Alliance for Justice.)
Gorsuch would compromise the health and safety of our environment:
–Gorsuch has “dangerous views” which “favor polluters and industry over the rights of the people.” The organization says he would undermine “the health and safety of the environment” by preventing “agencies like the EPA from fulfilling their mission and doing their job to protect our air, water, and health.” (Sierra Club)
–Gorsuch ruled to make it harder for women to access contraception – he was on the original Hobby Lobby case, criticized marriage equality, repeatedly ruled against the rights of disabled students.
I fell out laughing when I saw this on Instagram earlier. A president with full authority and knowledge, elected by the people in an electoral and popular vote landslide, visits the troops in his constitutional role as Commander-in-Chief as opposed to the weasley, ignorant, greedy and unelected son-in-law of an incompetent president without a mandate. I just love Pete’s classy shade.

OK!
Hello TODbots. The Dems in the Senate have finally done it! They are fighting. To Fight & Lose is Honorable. To spout & back dow is deplorable. Thank you Senate Dems!
Congrats, RanMan on your Solid Au ⭐

Were the FACTS reported in the Kansas media? Such as Medicaid Expansion is federally funded and health care is a big job creator.
GOP against saving lives and the quality of life, like Brownback, predictably give the lie about “burdens”.
Good but when do Kansans stop voting for Republicans and start voting for a party which has their best interests at heart? Democrats are not perfect but they don’t actively seek to harm people.

Usually, I am the one telling everyone I know to hang in there, it will be OK. Today, I just feel this dread and a sadness I can’t shake. Everyday the country seem to be in high anxiety. I want to go to sleep and wake up and this whole thing is a dream.
I just feel like crying. I am in my office by myself today and this just hit me like a ton of bricks.
I hate what’s happening. It all feels so helpless.
You’re not alone. I have to tune out from time to time because the “Breaking News” that happens every hour sends me into panic mode even before I read what happens and where it’s happening, fearing that it always leads to the WH…
But hang in there. However taxing it is and long it feels, this administration will go away, one way or the other.
I will say also- Africa, hang in there. I felt exactly that way Thursday and just had to walk away from it all. I went to a ‘show” at my son’s school on Friday- a 3 hr “floetry” concert that took my mind away… Saturday I zoned out on the show “Rosewood”, drooling over extreme men 🙂 and yesterday I cleaned like a maniac. Today I feel better. Rejuvinated. So do what you must to get back to you.. the battle will be here and so will we. And like NCLB said- this will go away one way or the other.
SheriJr, thanks. I typically try to look for something to uplift my soul, drown myself in it and laugh a lot. Today, somehow, I just got lost. But thank you again so much. I appreciate it.
Every day we wake up to some new outrageous pummeling from the ignorant but all powerful far right. It’s excruciating to watch our cherished values get stomped on right in broad daylight. I definitely have days when it feels like we are sliding further into the swamp. But it’s important to regain our equilibrium and fight back. We’ll defeat them in good time. I just know we will.
I woke up on Saturday morning in a panic when I thought about all the damage Trump is doing but I’m okay now. We will have to survive this together and continue to #Resist. Do our part in calling our representatives to do the right thing and get out there and vote every chance we get.

Afternoon TOD folks! Just watched the replay of the People Mag interview with the Obamas. Good Morning, Everyone 🙂
CALL CALL CALL, PEOPLE!!!!
CALL THOSE SQUISHY SENATORS!!
On Merrick Garland:

ILLEGITIMATE GORSUCH—NYET.
NYET !!!
NO to the ILLEGITIMATE PRESIDENT’S Supreme Court nominee.
President Obama nominated Judge Garland on March 16 last year:
310 days before Trump was inaugurated.
Seven nominees have been confirmed during Presidential election years including:
(Pres. Reagan): Anthony Kennedy confirmed Feb 3, 1988 = 65 days.
(Pres. Roosevelt): Frank Murphy confirmed Jan 18, 1940 = 12 days.

Good West Coast morning NW & TOD family.
Let’s make some calls today!
Congrats ranman on First 🎉

JER & Cathleen, I love them too!
Can’t wait for the naming to begin.
These two are so cute & feisty.

Gorsuch hearings happening now
Susan Rice is trending on Twitter. Fox is reporting that she unmasked names in security reports. I don’t know what that means; but, if she did what are the consequences?
My head is exploding right now! These are my school kids!
NRA: McConnell admitted the NRA makes the decision on SCOTUS:
McConnell: “I can’t imagine that a Republican majority in the United States Senate would want to confirm …a nominee opposed by the National Rifle Association”.
Video: http://addictinginfo.org/2016/07/06/mcconnell-just-admitted-the-nra-must-approve-next-supreme-court-justice-video/
Republicans rejected President Obama’s constitutional right to fill a Supreme Court vacancy before he had even named a nominee.
GOP (eg Burr) said they would not confirm Hillary’s nominee either.
Why would we confirm a President who is under investigation by the FBI?
Yet there are several Democratic Senators already on board for Gorsuch. They make me sick.
Does this qualify for the theme of the last post, “Welcome April with Laughter?”

I tweeted it. I’ll try to find it and post.
Well done CEB. 👍👊👌
Thanks. I follow a few people on Twitter, but don’t tweet myself.
But the MSM is only obsessed with the White racists who voted Trump. Wonder why. What’s so fascinating about bigots?
Love, love, love this sign!
Bennet is a YES on Gorsuch.
Son of a bitch!
Bennet doing the “both sides” thing that I detest.

GORSUCH IS AN ILLEGITIMATE NOMINEE after GARLAND was blocked by McConnell/NRA/GOP/KOCH for 310 days.
There is no tradition of leaving a Supreme Court seat vacant because of an impending presidential election: http://www.scotusblog.com/2016/02/supreme-court-vacancies-in-presidential-election-years/
Yep. Democrats have no problem confirming a stolen SCOTUS vacancy and thus supporting a President who is under investigation for treason.

Bless the hears of those Democrats in the Senate.
