I was on the phone with daughter-unit, checking some social media spread sheets we are working on, FB open, the iPad in the other room chimed and Nerdy posted, what was I to do? So, a whole minute had passed with no one commenting, felt in my Heart ❤️ I think was right! 😊✍🏼🌏🎶🗝

Is this reporting true by the Mirror?
MARINE LE PEN “temporarily” stepping down as leader of the National Front party saying, “It is essential to take leave of the National Front”…”I am only the presidential candidate” –” I will feel more free, and above partisan considerations”. In order to “unite all French people”. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/marine-le-pen-steps-down-10288792
IMO if true, it’s the latest anti-NATO, anti-EU big con to winning the French election by Putin, dicktraitor Trump and the far right.

True. RM did a big piece about Le Pen last night…including telling about this. Her father did the same thing when HE ran. It’s all for show….a fascist is still a fascist. I hope that France chooses wisely….as they can see, there don’t seem to be any “do overs”.

    Hello,
Couple of months ago I stated that no difference between senate and house intel committee on Russia probe. Both are stalling .
One side democrats have a witness list all trump associates from campaign… but the other side witness list is… wait for it.. all Obama employees from the whitehouse including Susan rice.
You see where this is going?
But you have democrats rushing to the TV to stay important they are saying everything is good .
    Huh?
What if Omaha was in office and this happened to him with Russians interfering and helping him? What if that happened? How would republicans respond?
Do you think by now we would have hearings on cable tv for weeks on end accusing Obama of treason?
So yes the republicans in congress are stalling and stone walling and they have an agenda to protect trump.
And democrats senate intel committee like king and warren need to speak up about it. Stop defending process.
    That’s it for now…
    ✌️ peace

    • April 25, 2017 at 7:46 am

Oops Obama not Omaha … although Omaha is pretty place and all… 😇

    • 70 pkayden
      April 25, 2017 at 8:12 am

You are right to be outraged that our side isn’t pushing back harder on Russian interference to put Trump into the White House. He is a traitor and we should do all we can to get him out of office. Congressional Dems need to be more like Maxine Power and speak truth to power. We cannot be complacent about this treason.

      • April 25, 2017 at 8:54 am

It’s a daily frustration to hear about the growing, corroborated evidence of Russian involvement and collusion in impacting the outcome of our presidential election. Even more is the thumbing-of-the-nose with the conflicts of interest that are being thrown in our face, not just by 45 and his family, but other members of his administration.

It’s outrageous that this family’s business is profiting at the expense of U.S. taxpayers with payments to his resorts and properties, security for his sons to travel on business and his children to travel on family vacations, and defraying the cost for 45 and his spouse’s marital separation. Overall, the anxiety felt watching this clown drag down this country, putting us in danger with his blustering with NK, Syria, etc., putting his ego ahead of the well-being of US citizens primarily by trying his best to reverse all the positive achievements of the Obama administration, and his stubbornness about building a wall at the risk of shutting down the government. AND 45 is being supported in his efforts by the Republicans in congress. Watching the congressional Republicans continued obstruction of the TrumpRussia investigation makes me wonder how many of *them* should be investigated and how many of them, like Nunes and Chaffetz, will be found to have some significant connection to this mess…enough that they are subject to being blackmailed by Russia.

How much longer before there is enough to start bringing charges?!?!?!? 45 and company are too much of a danger to let him continue with his DOA (Destruction of America).

I believe that Trump has backed down on that wall nonsense but otherwise you’re right. This whole administration is sloppy and sleazy. We need the Democrats to fight back as hard as they can and not capitulate. Otherwise, we’re in for a world of hurt because the folks controlling Washington do not have our best interests at heart. They’re out for themselves and their 1% buddies.

          • April 25, 2017 at 9:45 am

“I believe that Trump has backed down on that wall nonsense…”

I don’t know, pkayden. Right now, he’s saying he’s willing to postpone it until the fall. I think out of all his promises, he will probably dig in his heels on this one. Partly because it defined his candidacy, partly because he’s stubborn like that, but also because of the ridicule he’s received about it; especially about Mexico paying for it. Even though he could probably care less about a wall, he will continue to keep it in the fray because of the drama that comes with it.

“…the folks controlling Washington do not have our best interests at heart. They’re out for themselves and their 1% buddies. ”

Yeah. It’s gone beyond party over country. The priorities now seem to be self-interest over party; party over country.

              April 25, 2017 at 12:14 pm

GOP are going to tank our economy, and we’ll need another Dem to clean up their mess — but just how resilient can we be after the damage inflicted on this country, all so that the plutocrats can save some money from the millions they rake in now. (Sorry for the pessimism, but I saw what happened in 2009 after so many businesses and car dealerships went bankrupt [or close to it] — the local Nissan dealership left, and was replaced by Rolls Royce-Bentley — most mid-market stores are gone, now stores either cater to the rich or to bargain shoppers — very little inbetween…).

BTW, @sarahkendzior’s Twitter timeline is a must-read IMHO — she’s such a good writer, and explains our country’s crisis in unflinching terms.

We know that for Republicans, it’s always been just about repealing the ACA, not because it would be better for the country, but because it would take away of major achievement of the Obama administration. Replacing it was never their intention.

The problem for them is, they can not just repeal the ACA without having something to replace it. [Now that people have had it for a while, it is hard to just take it away from them.] If that were the case, they may have gotten the votes to appeal the ACA. And because they *have* to have a replacement, it became even more apparent that that was never their intent. After seven years, they would have had a reputable plan already set to go; right?

The ACA took long months of research, interviewing, and brainstorming, before a plan was developed. It is a complex plan that not only said this is what we want to do — make health insurance accessible AND affordable to all, but addressed how it would be achieved. It had to take into consideration the what-if’s. And it looked at the cost and how the cost would be covered.

The scramble to put together a plan to replace such a complex one highlights how Republicans seem to look at things in simplistic and apathetic terms. They seem to believe that it is enough to make health care available, but have no care about the affordability. If it doesn’t have a negative impact to them and theirs, what does it matter?

It’s disconcerting to see that Trudeau and Merkel appear to prefer to deal with Ivanka. Maybe because it’s a waste of time and effort to interact with 45…someone who [questionably] listens to respond rather than to understand.

        April 25, 2017 at 10:57 am

        • April 25, 2017 at 2:40 pm

pkayden, I’ve finally had a chance to search through the Twitter sites which led to my statement.

It did not say specifically that Trudeau and Merkel prefer to deal with Ivanka. That was my interpretation.

This is the tweet that led me to that inference.

        GM SWBG.

PBO is exactly right, when he said (yesterday, and of course before) that the root cause of the undermining of our democracy is money in politics.

BUT our media is completely blind to this source of corruption — you’d think in a capitalist society you’d always “follow the money” (wasn’t that from Watergate/All The President’Men?).

Our media is worse than useless. By focusing on DJT drama and tweets, and not on who is paying him and so many congresscritters, they don’t even try to education their audiences on possible motivations behind their policy stances.

While ignoring the fact that US politicians are functioning as money launderers for Russian oligarchs, they offer baloney like this (which I heard on @cbsradionews this morning):

“It’s in Merkel’s best interest to engage with Ivana, so that maybe DJT will cooperate with her.” (paraphrased)

Wanted to throw something at the radio — what vile spin on a strong woman, an elected leader of the country holding Europe together. To our media, gossip and speculation is what they get paid to deliver as “news.” Gag.

    ————————–
Ivanka Trump defended her father at a women’s panel in Berlin Tuesday after attendees hissed when she attempted to champion her father’s commitment to women’s issues.

The audience interrupted Trump during a discussion on paid leave when she began describing President Trump as an advocate for women.
“That is something I’m very proud of my father’s advocacy, long before he came into the presidency, he championed this in the primaries. He’s been a tremendous champion of supporting families and enabling them to thrive,” Trump said before the crowd began reacting negatively.

Trump was participating in a panel discussion on women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship at the W-20, a summit of G-20 countries aimed at promoting women’s workforce participation and equality.

Posted by my goddaughter who took the whole family to the Science March in D.C. At first I didn’t see her baby strapped to her back because of the huge sign, “Science Makes America Great.” Her husband had a sign as well, and her six-year son. He made all of the signs.

Her husband comes from the looniest or loony RWNJ’s in OK. He has come a long way in his politics. He’s centrist now, always will be. But we have kept such an intelligent dialog going on as he has seen the dumpster fire that is GOP politics. I’m very, very proud of him; but a big part of it is that we all listened to each other with respect.

          Good Afternoon, arapaho415

Seriously?!?!?! How hard did she have to work in order for her to “persevere”? Was it as simple as when 45’s father fronted him $1M?

That’s as bad as 45 saying if his daughter were sexually harassed in the workplace, he would think that she would “find another career or find another company.” Most people don’t have the luxury of just quitting if they find themselves in an uncomfortable situation.

She often talks about her and her father advocating for family and brags about their family leave policy. But if it is anything like the healthcare bill being proposed, it is just an empty vessel with a misleading label.
