    Thanks, Ms NerdyW!
If I’m around when this centre opens, that will likely be the only other visit I’ll be making to the US of A.

They need to all be thrown in jail. ALL of them!

    https://thinkprogress.org/at-event-in-beijing-kushner-family-uses-promises-of-a-u-s-visa-to-raise-money-cf1d4987ed3b

At an event in Beijing on Saturday, Nicole Kushner, the sister of White House senior advisor Jared Kushner, made a hard sell to wealthy Chinese investors to pour funds into the family’s new real estate development in New Jersey, according to The Washington Post.
But Nicole Kushner offered the ballroom full of well-heeled Beijing residents more than just returns on investment: Invest with us, she told them, and you could get a highly desirable type of visa to the United States.
“Invest $500,000 and immigrate to the United States,” a brochure for the event reportedly declared.

We all need ‘self-care’. Part of my self-care is entertainment.

I have been looking forward to this show ever since they dropped the first trailer a few months ago.

    MAY 29TH, FOLKS!

New Promo: ‘Still Star-Crossed’ (Debuts May 29)

When ABC announced its mid-season 2017 premieres earlier this year
(January), to the surprise and disappointment of many, the
much-anticipated post-“Romeo & Juliet” TV series from Shonda Rhimes’
Shondaland, titled “Still Star-Crossed,” which stars British actress
Lashana Lynch, wasn’t included on the schedule. It was expected to
premiere this current season, but it appeared that the network would
push it back even further with a premiere date announcement to
    eventually be made.

    ……………….

Fans can relax now as ABC announced its summer 2017 schedule earlier this month, with a number of new scripted, reality competition, and game shows included in the lineup. And one of the scripted series is of course “Still Star-Crossed,” which will premiere on Monday, May 29, airing from 10:01-11:00 p.m. Now you know. Mark your calendars.

I know what you mean. Chris is a die-hard JFK fan, which is fine, but not “tall enough” in my book to host the MSNBC showing for our forever President Obama. Oh, well.

Sooooo, I’ve finally finished watching the video of Pres O sharing his and Michelle’s vision for their presidential centre, and in words often spoken by PBO, “I couldn’t be more prouder of them!” 🙂 🙂 🙂 Talk about vision! Talk about reaching hands back to others so they too can climb! Talk about….. wisdom….. and futuristic thinking….. and empathy……. and, plain and simply, …true love! God, I’m so, so fortunate and so very blessed to have lived (and to be still living) in the Age of the Obamas.

      GE/GM GGail.

      I’m freezing too.

It’s in the 40Fs now, and I thought it was unbearably hot most of this week (I’ve noticed that hot weather seems to bother me more when it heats up when Winter is done [unless it’s over 100F] — I think it takes awhile for my body to adjust to the heat).

But no complaints from me — would rather be cold than hot (can always bundle up), and my plants thrive in cool weather (instead of shriveling up and dying, which is what most of my [non-succulent] plants do when it gets hot 😦 ).

Hoping our “May Gray” and “June Gloom” pattern continues this year.

Interesting that you’ve been blocked without ever having engaged with that person.

From the little I know of Twitter, I think this might happen if you’re swept up in a “canoe” — meaning someone else (i.e., troll) gets involved in a tweet you’ve posted or replied to. Dunno though.

The person indicated that the reason Claude Taylor has so much info is because he’d gotten to know so many in the intel community who learned they could trust him whereas the media isn’t trusted by anyone, so would not get access to the same level of intel. I found it a bit reassuring.

          May 7, 2017 at 12:04 pm

Yes, I take serious issue with anyone who attacks citizen journalism, and touts MSM pseuo-journalism. The MSM has been behind this story from the beginning, didn’t do anything when the election was in process. What Claude Taylor and Louise Mensch are doing is authentic patriotism. And you’re right, there’s no reason at all to trust 99% of the MSM journos, they are all serving their corporate interests. NYTimes is still in the business of normalizing Trump. Their annointing of a climate denier columnist with great fanfare is the last straw for me.

  27. 85 Don
    May 7, 2017 at 8:51 am

Last night my eleven year old son had his first sleep over at a neighbor’s house. My son’s friend was celebrating his twelfth birthday. It was the first time my son has ever been away from home overnight without me being with him. I couldn’t really sleep because I kept thinking about fifteen year old Jordan Edwards. Jordan Edwards was the child that was murdered by a policeman. Jordan and his brother had just left a party when the police came upon their vehicle and opened fire striking Jordan in the forehead. Every time I see Jordan’s picture I want to cry, the unimaginable pain of losing a child. How do you recover from that pain, how do you go on?

    • 86 sherijr
      May 7, 2017 at 11:09 am

I don’t know either Don, how one recovers from that. I’ve thought of it a million times and just thinking of these kids, their parents, breaks my heart. Every time my son walks out the door to catch the bus for school/ work, I think these dark thoughts… and each time he makes it home, I breathe. I cannot, will not, imagine my life without his life.

See upthread reply to DF re: my thread on DJT “supporters” (aka Russian moles) promoting election fraud in France, distributing and attempting to elect LePen in France.

      • May 7, 2017 at 12:14 pm

Good Afternoon, arapaho415! For a while I wondered if anyone else was in the village this morning. 🙂

Yes, the promotion of election fraud in France (and any other democracy) by 45 supporters is very disturbing.

I was watching Rachel the other night when she talked about the gag order leading up to France’s election and the loophole that allows them to get around it…that other countries can talk about it and French citizens have access to these discussions.

I’ve no doubt that this promotion of election fraud and the actual execution extends deep into the GOP…thus their determined attempts to obstruct the TrumpRussia investigation.

Morning Must Read. From around the time of the sham election, but very spot on. A little taste.

    https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2016/11/05/opinions/eric-trump-bullet-comment-ben-ghiat/index.html

The Trump campaign has also used Nazi German symbols in its own original campaign ads. In July 2015, Trump tweeted a stock image of actors with SS uniforms overlaid by an American flag and a portrait of himself, with text saying “We need real leadership.”

Trump blamed an intern for the presence of those uniforms, but his followers know the real story: Trump promises to save American whites against the incursions of shifting demographics (Hispanics and other peoples of color will become the majority in a few decades) and immigrants, as well as from the empowerment of African-Americans in the wake of Barack Obama’s presidency. That’s one reason why The Crusader, a Ku Klux Klan-affiliated newspaper, recently endorsed Trump.

i don’t like the reports of low turn out in the French elections.

such reports, make me very nervous.

as person who has known and seen people killed as they try to get an opportunity to vote, I get very angry about people who have the freedom, right and ability to vote but then they decide that they will not.

I hope the bigot does not win because people enable her with their lack of participation.
