Just got a reply from Senator Flake regarding my email regarding AHCA….

“blah, blah, free market. ” and the only parts he seemed to want to save were preexisting conditions and kids stay on parents policy to 26yo.

That’s it! Honestly, I think there is smoke coming out my ears right now.

These little, little men. When the light is shown on them they are revealed as weak, ignorant, greedy cowards and fools. For years people feared them or thought that they were unassailable, but they are not. The big money people who hide in the shadows are the only reasons that people like Sessions, Ryan, McConnell, 45 and all the rest have their positions. They are put in place and held there by the machinations of powerful puppeteers that have always run this country. We see them for what they truly are and they can be brought down. It is time to take them out and to re-build.

Here’s his background. I think he demonstrates the heart of a public servant. He’s fiscally conservative but he’s liberal on social issues. He’s unlikely to curtail voting rights, block a women’s right to choose, support health care for everyone and free community college education. No one should vote for a member of the GOP. They are quite literally a criminal organization that is in collusion with the Russian government.

What constitution? At the moment there is no constitution in the US as long as those in power (total of less than 1000) are ignoring it and doing whatever they want while majority are powerless to stop them then I say it does not exist. The sooner people realize this and start strategizing accordingly, the better for everyone. Should this continue the next 4 years the US will have changed forever and not in a good way.

I cannot in good conscience offer “thoughts and prayers” to the very people who would allow policies that lead to this very sort of incident because they’re beholden to the NRA or they want to “stick it to the black President.” More specifically, they are the very ones who callously turned their backs after 20 innocents were murdered by a lunatic with a gun, are now asking for sympathy and understanding…sorry but there are HARD LESSONS to be learned.

I will only say that I’m hoping that this FINALLY spurs some genuine efforts to pass sensible gun legislation – but I’m not holding my breath.

Every morning I open my newsfeed and find even more of the world is literally and figuratively on fire. There has not been so much death and destruction in the UK since the Blitz, I hope most of the people were able to be gotten out alive and that the reason for the fire is related to faulty construction rather than terrorism; the shooting in Alexandria: not sure I believe the Rep. who said the shooter asked him if the players were Republican or Democrat and even it this was so, he should not have said so to the press. This could be a set up to turn people against Democrats. You can also bet that the gunman is white because if he was otherwise, we would have known this before we knew his name; “A Black gunman” or a “Muslim gunman” etc. would have been the lead. It will be interesting to see how the repubs. square this with their complete allegiance to the NRA, but my bet is that they will be silent. I used to say that nothing will happen re; gun control until someone walks a large congressional gathering in the Capitol and opens fire killing most of them, but these days, I do not think even this will change things. I do not wish ill on anyone because that is bad karma and an attack like this represents an attack on our institutions so I am sorry that it happened and hope some good can come out as a result of it.
Glad to see more movement on the emoluments charge with 200 Democrats signing on to the lawsuit. The Trump Crime Family has the US up for sale, pay for play, and is a direct attack on our country. I want 45, his minions and their molls to be hit over and over from every side so that they are too busy defending themselves to arm us more.
So now, we have the Pentagon running the military without civil over-sight because the mofos in the WH are too lazy and ignorant to do it and too intent on screwing the rest of us. We could end up with a military coup. Talented people do not want to be tarnished by this shit show, nor would they be hired because they would not give personal loyalty and subservience required by 45. We are in for more previously unimagined horrors.
All of this shows how fragile our nation state is, how much traditions and the rule of law depend upon mutual agreement, how we need a 4th Estate that serves the needs of the republic, not the egos of the writer and the purses of the owners, and the need to revise and modernize our founding documents to reflect our new more inclusive aspirations and the challenges of a technologically advanced , globalized world.

I’m speculating here, but despite what some Republicans are trying to suggest (about the supposed political affiliation of the shooter), the shooter could have very well been a nationalist-confederate Stewart Corey (R) supporter who was angry at the mainstream GOP establishment that Gillespie won the R primaries last night.

Again, I’m just speculating that it could be anything – the fact that he allegedly asked about the political affiliation of the baseball players does not point one way or the other.

I had some of the same thoughts; sounds like a setup to turn people against democrats; many, especially in the South and parts of the West want an open conflagration. They have dreams of another armed civil war which will, in their minds, give whiteness a victory.

Helen Mirren at the Tulane Commencement:

“I looked in a lot of different places for answers—eastern, western and all over the place. When I found one inspiring answer in Mayan wisdom that said so much in so few words, I had it tattooed on my left hand. It’s a simple phrase: Inlakesh. It means: “You are my other self. We are one. I am Another Yourself.” The Mayans were on to something. Because, if I’m you, I have a responsibility to you. If you’re me, you have a responsibility to me. The Mayans just had a more beautiful way of saying, “we’re all in this together.”

There was an exchange between LarryO and Heidelman(sp?) about the general cluelessness by Team Trump about Bobby Three Sticks (that nickname cracks me up). How he just doesn’t get that threatening him isn’t the way to go. The only one who probably has a clue is Priebus, but we know he’s not in the inner circle.
