Well, I replied to my Senator just now. He responded to an email that I sent and seems to think that the free market will be all we need to take care of healthcare for Americans…except he really liked the being able to stay on your parents plan until you are 26 and not dropping you for preexisting conditions. Only those. I explained to him that healthcare is NOT a commodity to be sold and bartered ….and at the end of the email, I mentioned Mr. Scalise and told him that I had hoped that he would be fine and told him that ALL AMERICANS needed to have the very same peace of mind that Mr. Scalise enjoys when life took this dangerous turn. He will be ok BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT HE WILL GET THE CARE HE NEEDS!!! All Americans deserve this very same thing.

Use this as a teaching moment and write to your congress person and senators. Nothing happens by accident. This is a teaching moment for members of congress!

Day of action to save Obamacare! Please call your own Senators even if they’re Democrats but especially if they are Republicans. Then also call some more GOP Senators or their staffers about this travesty!

Lisa Murkowski (leg asst. Morgan Griffin 202-224-6665)

Jeff Flake (leg asst. Helen Heiden 202-224-4521)

Cory Gardner (leg asst. Curtis Swager 202-224-5941)

Mitch McConnell (leg asst. Katelyn Conner 202-224-2541 or Natalie McIntyre)

Rand Paul (leg asst. Natalie Burkhalter 202-224-4343)

Susan Collins (leg asst. Elizabeth Allen 202-224-2523)

Dean Heller (leg asst. Rachel Green 202-224-6244)

Rob Portman (leg asst. Sarah Schmidt 202-224-3353)

Pat Toomey (leg asst. Theo Merkel 202-224-4254)

Shelley Moore Capito (leg asst. Dana Richter 202-224-6472)

Democracy dies in darkness. This critical bill must have public hearings before the vote so stakeholders can weigh in! Many thanks.

When I heard the “talking-head-bimbo” repeat what some rep said, I knew it was a lie. When a witness already said she saw the shooter walking around with a rifle and this rep saying the guy asked him if the people on the field were GOP or DEMS, why would you tell someone GOP (when you are one too) who has a rifle? Thought they were with the NRA/GOP?

  8. June 14, 2017 at 11:41 am

Trump suppose to speaking shortly. He has nothing I want to hear. I hope and pray everyone who was shot will be okay. I am glad that Congressman have good health insurance, considering he wants 23 million people to lose their health insurance.

Dudette, thank you as always for your uplifting words. Btw, I have a book that’s in the process of being published in about 2-3 weeks.

Title: Morning Greeting Words of Encouragements – Forever Book Calendar.

The book basically contains a compilation of daily encouraging words I sent to my Daughter each morning and occasionally shared with TOD’ville. In fact, “TOD-Family (TheObamaDiary.com)” is mentioned in the Foreword.

I can’t wait to buy it – several copies, for sure! Let us know where to order when you can. 👏🏾🙏🏾❤️

          • June 14, 2017 at 1:21 pm

Dudette, your statement, “Your words always gave me the positive boost I needed”, brought tears of joy from my eyes, and that has nothing to do with the book. But it does have a whole lot to do with you sharing that my words brought you some degree of comfort in your time of need.

Thank you and that’s beyond measure. {{{Dudette}}} 🙏👏❤️😇

Life is filled with ironies – some of them cruel – but otherwise make you think….

Scalise gleefully tweeted this back in 2015 (remember our then President Obama was in tears at the podium)

Fast-forward to 2017 – as of this morning when the shooting occurred, this was Barack Obama’s most recent tweet.

Karma is female and she is tired of the hatred and the abuse. The Furies are avenging females whose specialty is turning what the perpetrators have wrought themselves against them. For my last literary allusion: Fortune’s Wheel (another female) descends as surely as it rises; a warning to all hubristic leaders and winners. Power requires humility for healthy balance; when it is not tied to this saving grace, destruction is the result. PBO kept guard against hubris; always reflecting praise, always insisting that gains and accomplishments were the work of many. Even the Obama center will be a testimony to his beliefs about us and we, rather than I and me. He was assailed on all sides, yet he kept focused on the goal of doing as much as possible to help as many as possible. he keep his hurt and anger to himself and forged on without complaint.

I am not and NEVER will be one of these Republican jackasses.

And true to their nature, some of them are already out there projecting the blame for their ugly words and attitudes onto liberals.

These were the same people who incited the nuts of their base to flaunt their weapons and the threat of ‘rising up against the government’ as much as possible during PBO’s terms.

Scalise is the self-proclaimed “David Duke without the white robe”. Maybe karma came for a visit.

“My 6 year just saw this picture as I scrolled my phone. He shouted out “Obama” and gave my phone a big kiss. @petesouza Please give our favorite President all our love. We miss him so much.”

    I left him this message:
“President Obama is as lyrical and exquisite a writer as you are a photographer. An incredible and historical match and I am grateful to have witnessed it in all its astounding glory. Thank you!”

We shall see. I want to believe,

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said today that the committee will pursue investigations into any efforts to influence FBI investigations. In a letter to Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Grassley also said that the committee needs a full understanding of the events that led to former FBI Director James Comey’s removal.

“You and I agree that the American people deserve a full accounting of attempts to meddle in both our democratic processes and the impartial administration of justice. The Judiciary Committee has an obligation to fully investigate any alleged improper partisan interference in law enforcement investigations. It is my view that fully investigating the facts, circumstances, and rationale for Mr. Comey’s removal will provide us the opportunity to do that on a cooperative, bipartisan basis,” Grassley said in the letter.

I was thinking a few days ago how an EC re-vote could turn the election outcome faster than any other process, keeping in mind they made a tragic error in December 2016. The revote would give them a chance to protect what’s left protect of our democracy, as well as being faster and more economically viable than a countrywide new election. It still would not deal with downticket election hacking/tampering or voter roll purging, or stolen/destroyed ballots, or deliberate miscounting, ffs, the list never ends of proof how badly and for how long the GOP have been actively destroying democracy.

Too many with evil hearts have become emboldened to act on their hateful thoughts — often in a violent way. And because of the apathetic GOP legislators — and especially the current WH inhabitants — these immoral persons have easy access to weapons and can cause fatalities and injuries, often indiscriminately and in large numbers.

Found at BJ about how AARP helps folks call the Senate:

    hedgehog the occasional commenter says:
    June 14, 2017 at 10:51 am
@low-tech cyclist: (Trying again. Edited my comment and it got eated.)

Co-sign; I called MIchael Bennet’s office, thanked him for standing strong against the ACHA, encouraged him and his Dem colleagues to get the word out. Staffer was very grateful for the supportive call–they need to hear those too.
Also called Cory Gardner (R-Weasel) with the AARP call in number (1-844-833-9667). Got voice mail, left a message. If you go on the AARP website, they have a handy-dandy one-page fact sheet on the ACHA that lays out exactly how bad it is. Good for talking points. AARP’s been running ads here in Colorado urging people to call Gardner.

Danica Roem, the first out transgender person to ever run for the Virginia General Assembly, made history last night by pulling off a surprise victory in the Democratic primary for the 13th District.

She bested fellow Democrats Steve Jansen, Andrew Adams, and Mansimran Kahlon, and will now face anti-LGBTQ Republican Bob Marshall in the general election.

If Roem can beat Marshall she could become the first ever trans individual to be elected as a state legislator.

The interesting irony is that Trump and his alt-right supporters WELCOMED and encouraged the “Bernie-bro” wing of the far-left ideological spectrum when it suited them and served their purposes. That’ was as long as they thought that Hillary, Obama, POC, women and other minorities would be the “victims” of the Bernie-bro movement. Ditto for their lapdogs in the media – including Tea-NN. So they cannot now pretend to be against any of it. They BUILT this.
