    http://www.politicususa.com/2017/06/20/trump-credit-ford-nixed-mexican-car-plant-turns-china.html

President Trump took credit for pushing the auto companies around to force them to keep jobs in the U.S., which certainly would have been something to celebrate if only it had been true. He really likes to incorrectly take credit for Ford decisions.

Trump thanked Ford for keeping jobs in the US, but it turns out that the automaker is moving jobs to China, as Ford announced Tuesday:

Exciting new Ford Focus on the way for North American customers beginning in 2019 with more technology, more space and a number of new Focus models. Next-generation Focus for North America will be globally sourced primarily from China – rather than Hermosillo, Mexico – with production starting in the second half of 2019. Current model production ends in mid-2018.

Otto Warmbier’s father said that Obama could have done more to get his son free, here is my question, what was he doing in North Korea? I am sorry that the family lost their child, but I do believe that President Obama did all he could do to get that young man set free. And Trump is running his lying mouth too.

      June 20, 2017 at 5:02 pm

Same here bella, these Christian GOP’ers (I know they are GOP because he praised 45 for his son’s release) allow their children to go to a hostile country to “spread Christian propaganda” where they are NOT friendly with the USA and can claim you committed a crime with no proof (kinda like what AA’s go through in the USA).

These tour companies should not be allowed to travel to hostile countries but I am sure if PBO tried to stop them the GOP would be screaming.

        June 20, 2017 at 5:24 pm

        GA Bella and JoJo.

TY for the update on why Warmbier was in North Korea.

Like GGail last night, I was mystified why these students thought it would be a good idea to visit North Korea.

Unless you’re a (B list) celeb, no American should set foot there now.

This must be the travel agency involved in Warmbier’s ill-fated tour:

      • June 20, 2017 at 5:45 pm

I feel badly about Otto Warmbier’s death and my heart goes out to his family.

Having said that, I think that when Americans travel to other countries, they need to respect that country’s laws, culture, etc. Often times, it seems that many Americans, in their arrogance, don’t even bother to learn about the laws and the culture of the countries they visit, or choose to ignore them. Many also act as if they are above the laws of other countries and not subject to their penalties (as if they have diplomatic immunity) when they break the law…because it doesn’t seem to be a big deal. And yes, some punishments may seem extreme (to us) and may not fit the crime (in our opinion), but when you *choose* to venture into these hostile countries, you should have an awareness of what could potentially happen and should accept that you are taking a risk.

And I agree jojo. Imposing restrictions regarding traveling to hostile countries would definitely get push back. But we, as US citizens, want our cake and eat it to. We want the freedom to do whatever we want, yet expect our government to step in when problems arise.

I also note that the tour company did not say they would stop travel to these countries, but that they would stop taking US citizens.

          June 20, 2017 at 7:12 pm

Yeah, I think taking US Citizens to NK is very risky since we have a crazy president who says stupid things and makes idle threats can not be safe for them to travel to NK.

      • 106 carolyn
        June 20, 2017 at 7:46 pm

Jimmy Carter has been way ahead of his time for years. He reminds me of the that a prophet is without honor in his own country. He is a prophet, Al Gore is a prophet, Barack Obama is a prophet…..they all look ahead, have vision, and try to push to our better selves. A vocal minority can’t deal with it.

We now have solar panels on our church, and all or our energy comes from these solar panels. The parishioners paid for these with voluntary donations. Our minister is a prophet way ahead of his time. Talked with a woman who just started coming two weeks ago. She and her mother moved close to the building. I asked her why she had come. She answered: I saw your solar panels. So……not everyone is negative toward them. Our minister was thrilled when she told him. As were all of us. I think maybe we call call that “solar panel evangelism.”

Chris Hayes on McConnell’s Deathcare secrecy and plan to force vote. “It’s like a legislative heist.”
Benen: “GOP senators recently stole a Supreme Court seat, taking it from one administration and handing it to another, affecting the direction of American jurisprudence for decades.”
McConnell last year: “One of my proudest moments was when I told Obama, ‘You will not fill this Supreme Court vacancy.’”
Benen: “But just as every great heist movie seems to get a sequel, McConnell & Co. may be pulling off an even bigger robbery in plain sight.”
Let’s speculate: Cuba/Russia, sanctions on Russian oil, KOCH brothers planning a convention on changing the Constitution. (-True.)
Free guns for every boy and girl, the end of (name that social service), the end of Science, the end of free speech.

McConnell has fallen into a bottomless pit of Evil and cannot go back. He is a mouthpiece for mega-billionaire KOCH brothers and A.L.E.C. who despise affordable healthcare for ordinary American families. David Koch’s Libertarian Party platform in 1980:
“We favor the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.”
“We oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.”
“We also favor the deregulation of the medical insurance industry.”

        • June 20, 2017 at 6:38 pm

KOCH group Americans for Prosperity (AFP) told the New York Times:
“that its ultimate goal is to undermine public faith in the ability of government to solve big problems, by tarring the Affordable Care Act as a “social welfare boondoggle” so that there will be less support for addressing the biggest problem of all–climate change.”
(Koch Industries is a major polluter.)
