You know the KOCHPutin party would still be playing this game even If the health care system was working perfectly, They’ll work it on a continuous loop until we get them out. McConnell doesn’t want to solve anything – just cause Chaos and Fear. This new idea is a vendetta against the American people. Just another aspect of the COUP by GOP/Putin to put America on the trash heap.
    Stinks of foreign collusion.

    Americans WANT/DEMAND Obamacare/ACA by 2-1.
–“INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE PAYING A LOWER SHARE OF PREMIUMS out in medical claims than in any comparable
period since the law went into effect.” (Kaiser Foundation as reported by NBC.)
–THE UNINSURED RATE IS AT RECORD LOWS.

  45. 56 desertflower

    Exactly.

    http://www.politicususa.com/2017/07/18/obamacare-raised-expectations-nation.html

Leslie Small writing at Fierce Health explained that the problem is that the ACA raised the expectations of the American people, “The problem is that the ACA irreversibly altered what Americans expect from the individual market, and insurers, like any type of company, are acutely aware of their customers’ shifting expectations. Now that ‘pre-existing conditions’ is an everyday term, insurers know they can’t return to cherry-picking healthy enrollees and denying coverage as common business practices.”

Republicans are caught between their seven years of trolling Obamacare and their unwillingness to legislate for the people of this country.

They are trapped because Obamacare, for all of its lack of perfection, actually achieved the overarching goal of getting more Americans covered and forcing insurance companies to actually cover the things they promised they would cover. It threw in a lot of extras that people are used to now, like well woman visits and regulations over the healthcare industry.

The industry has grown since Obamacare, so now insurers don’t want to see it repealed.

Keep in mind, even the GOP women were ignored while the old white men were coming up with their repeal and replace bill. Maybe some of the GOP will grow a spine and indicate that they too will vote no.

I wondered who number 4 was. Has McConnell officially said that the bill is dead?

I see 45 is pouting and saying let Obamacare fail. Who does he think would be blamed? Does he understand that *he* will be responsible? Especially if he actively tries to sabotage it.

He understands nothing – doesn’t want to and I daresay hasn’t the capacity to. It’s a hard job. Hm, I’ll correct myself: He, at least, understands THAT now.
Maybe soon it’ll just feel like it’s too hard and he’ll find an excuse to quit – hopefully before he does much more damage.

I’ve heard a few times that the Magnitsky Act came up. While they *said* adoptions, could there have been discussion about the sanctions for human rights violations?

        Hello SWBG.

Our tireless, fierceless leader, NerdyW, has opened a new thread, but wanted to call your attention to the tweets I posted on the previous thread from @BillBrowder on the subject of Magnitsky sanctions and adoptions as a response to a post there.

(Wow, I didn’t realize I missed an entire thread [this one] this morning!)

        • July 18, 2017 at 2:38 pm

Hi arapaho415. I remember posting a tweet soon after Jr’s meeting came out that referenced the Magnitsky Act and basically said “adoption = sanctions”.

Yes, the new posts are coming fast and furious today.
