      And me, the letter she wrote me, with a signed photograph of her lovely self, thanking me for her birthday card, well, that piece is a treasure for all time, for all my family down the ages (presuming we still have ages of time on earth ahead…) ๐Ÿ“ฟ๐Ÿ˜˜โค๏ธ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒ

    So this weekend is my birthday weekend and I started with going to the Hollywood Bowl last night to attend a concert with Kool and the Gang, the Village People, and Morris Day & the Time. That brought me back to my youth. It was a great concert and we left singing “Cherish the love you have; you should cherish the life you live….”, and “Celebrate good times, come on…” Sigh. Today is my actual birthday and my hubby is cooking me a nice dinner and tomorrow we’re meeting up with some fellow TOD’ers: Tally, PurpleshoesLA, JoJoCat and GGail to have a wonderful champagne brunch at Proud Bird, near LAX. I fell so blessed. The icing on the cake would be if #45 was removed from office along with Pence, et.al, and President Obama would be brought back to preside as President until a new election could be set up. (I know “to dream the impossible dream”.)

    Me too!
    My oldest son gave me an Obama Bobahead today at my oldest granddaughter’ fifteenth birthday party that he found at a garage sale. I told him I would put it in my Obama memento room as soon as I start decorating it with my Out of Many We are One framed poster and string art piece of the Hope poster and two framed letters from the WH that he signed to me in answer to my letters. It is unfortunate that my Obama room is switching from my art room in Oregon to my coming bathroom in my new quarters in the Seattle basement of my youngest daughter’s family home. I am scaling down from a three bedroom home to two rooms. It is a hard transition to make.

      Sadly, we’ve all known he was mentally unstable long before he “won” the presidency. Nothing he does now is surprising or unexpected. He has never been normal or stable.

      Love her answer to the last question re: what would she say to Trump if they had a private conversation: “I would not waste my time.” This type of response is one that I am very familiar with, it is the only response tp someone who has shown you who he/she is. Believe them and keep pressing on. Black folks, except for people like Van Jones (thankfully, a minority), did not waste any time thing DT would be other than he has always been which is why so many A-A did not vote for his ass. Another thing that she mentioned they way that Black people who prospered in anyway are questioned by white people: they always want to know how we do what we do financially. I have had comments and questions about my clothes, my home, its furnishings and about why/how I was able to retire before 60 and still live well. Most Black people give the lie to the stereotype of living in ghettos and have for many years, but too many white people want us to be poor, on food stamps, Medicaid, and living in some type of government housing. One of the reasons the GOP wants to shred the safety net is that they think it will hurt Black people when the truth of the matter is was designed for white people and there are more of them who benefit from it. I hated Reagan for many reasons, but that “welfare queen” characterization and the damage that it continues today is one of the main ones. Medicaid, many are just realizing, is helping middle class white families care for disabled children and elderly parents and other services. They are the ones you see haunting the halls of congress, protesting at meetings, and posted their stories on Facebook and Twitter.

      As a black woman, I love and admire how Auntie Maxine structured her answers to that snotty reporter’s questions. I need to send her a “thank you” tweet.

      Off to do it right now ๐Ÿ™‚

    Not withstanding 1-5 in this piece, with this cravenly self serving GOP congress, WE THE PEOPLE may need to descend on DC several million strong to peacefully but persistently demand that the criminal leave.

      these are the few things I am going to say about that new WH hire;

      I really really, ….., really can’t stand him and I have only paid brief attention to him during just a few hours since he has come on the national scene;

      he is a scumbag who has two probable destinations by the time he is done serving the homegrown demagogue:

      (a) public humiliation at the hands of scoundrel#45 ;

      (b) as a target of Special Counsel Mueller or exposure by the media – given his reported financial dealings;

      so stand up and take your number in the line of all the political and financial cockroaches who are facing potential scrutiny and exposure;

      …….back to regular programming

      Sanders was spared because the Republicans did not pull out the stack of opposition research on him. His record for big wins are questionable at best. He is to old to run for President. Huge crowds does not guarantee votes.

        Sanders’ ego has gotten the best of him. He should be leading us in the resistance against Trump instead of talking down Democrats.

    my consolation about any threats to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller;

    given the frantic panic of the maniacal homegrown demagogue, a number of people now know that “follow the money” in order to find any missing pieces to form a legally-tight case in russian collusion;

    good thing is that a number of people are already working on this in a formal and informal capacity;

    in fact, I have heard and read that other lower courts have some of this information and are working on it;

    so, if he were to fire Special Counsel Mueller, then the same information will continue to come out in form of investigative reports citing these sources and the content, time and pace will not be determined by Team Treason;

    as they say, the horse is already out of the barn;

    …. and he has made it so easy to release this incriminating information because he has hurt and insulted very many people (powerful and ordinary);

    …….. so he has very few willing to support and protect him who are not bought and paid for or looking for personal fame;

    scoundrel#45 and his family will end up facing huge financial loss as he pays all the leeches who will convince him that he will be able to beat the charges against him;

    the prosecutors may also add a crawl- back of all that ill-gotten money as part of the punishment;

    the legal sources of finance will reduce and soon dry up as the law enforcement scrutiny continues;

    – few (if any) institutions will want to face that extra scrutiny from a determined legal enforcement team;

    don’t forget that he is already very highly leveraged so regular payments have to be made on those huuuge loans;

    ….yet his businesses rely on his fake brand name;

    ……do I smell bankruptcy, again;

    furthermore, I doubt that many of the corrupt people who he has associated with throughout his life are going to want to face the weight of the law in exchange for protecting him;

    … every criminal will be for himself;

    …. and we know how fickle loyalty is among criminals;

    he entered the presidential race to make money, hurt “haters” and take revenge on people …. but he will fail and be totally humiliated and exposed on a global stage;

    The Washington Post reported this week that … [45] is considering whether to pardon himself and his associates to undermine Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation and [45] this weekend tweeted that he has “complete power” to pardon. There’s no question that the president’s pardon power is extremely broad, but using pardons to try to undermine or limit Mueller’s investigation could backfire. …
