    WTH?!?!?!?!?!?

“Manafort agrees to speak with investigators after subpoena: report”

The Senate Judiciary Committee has reportedly dropped its subpoena against Paul Manafort just hours after it was issued.

According to a report by Politico, Manafort has agreed to speak with investigators.

The committee had subpoenaed Manafort earlier Tuesday to appear publicly before the committee on Wednesday.

    ======

So will it be a public appearance or not???

I left the village early last night and missed the goodness of the protest/resistance playlist that Dudette put up at my request; thanks so much for doing this. Will enjoy it this morning with my coffee/reflection time.
The excerpts from Michelle’s speech on Colorado give me life. Thanks to all who linked excerpts and tweets related to it. Like Her, I have always likened our country to a teenager as we share many of the positive and negative traits of a person at that stage of life.
Thank you to everyone who is continuing the fight, we get knocked down but we get back up, beaten but not broken. Our country has been moving in the current direction since its inception, the union was never perfect, but we can take the current crisis and use it to shore up the weak spots and to build additions that will make it better.

But the company has faced suspicion for years about its ties to Russia’s Federal Security Service or FSB.

Concerns about the company have metastasized in the United States in recent years due to the deterioration in U.S.-Russia relations following Russia’s invasion of Crimea in 2014 and later when U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Russia had hacked the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Moscow denies the hacking allegations, and Kaspersky has repeatedly denied it has any untoward relationship with any government, saying the accusations against it lack evidence.

    https://newrepublic.com/article/144040/no-end-lies-republican-senate-health-care-bill-debate

Republican senators vowed not to consider Obamacare repeal without a satisfactory replacement, and yet, that is exactly what they’re doing now.

The Trumpcare process has been defined by the lies Republicans have had to tell their constituents and each other to keep the process going. For the most part, the specific lies have pertained to the substance of the repeal endeavor itself. These aren’t overstated generalizations that won’t prove to be literally true, but claims that are directionally opposed to the truth.

President Donald Trump is unsurprisingly the worst offender, but he’s faced stiff competition from the likes of his own health and human services secretary, former Congressman Tom Price, who has made astonishing promises like that Americans will “absolutely not” lose Medicaid under a law that cuts Medicaid by 35 percent, and that “nobody will be worse off financially” under a law that reduces insurance assistance by about a trillion dollars. House Speaker Paul Ryan has joined Trump in promising that legislation gutting protections for people with pre-existing conditions will actually leave people with pre-existing conditions better off.

But what’s nearly as striking is the fact that members have allowed this ethic to seep into the commitments they make to each other and to their constituents.

I know this is true for a FACT because of the email responses I have gotten back from Flake and Schweikert ( Rep)

    Explainer for the circus today.

    https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/7/25/16030236/senate-health-care-bill-first-amendments-fail

This revised iteration of BCRA — which included an amendment by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to allow non-Obamacare plans back on the market paired with $100 billion in funding to partially offset the Medicaid cuts — was subject, because of the Senate budget rules, to a 60-vote threshold for a procedural vote. It failed handily, 43 to 57, with nine Republicans and all of the Democrats opposing it.

Next up: a vote on clean repeal of Obamacare’s spending and health insurance coverage expansion with no replacement, which is scheduled for midday Wednesday. That bill is also expected to fail.

Neither result would be a surprise. Health care lobbyists and Senate aides believe the most likely destination is a skinny Obamacare repeal bill that undoes the individual mandate, the employer mandate and a few of the law’s taxes.

Vote-a-rama is a series of amendments that have to be germane to the bill. There will be 2 minutes of debate and roughly 10 minutes of voting on each amendment. Those can go on for a long time. Some Democratic Senators have already indicated that they have 100 or more amendments ready to file. Very few, if any, of these amendments are expected to pass but they are designed to highlight the differences between the parties and put Republicans in awkward positions.

And then after that, the Senate votes. Assuming there are 50 plus the Vice President, either the House accepts the Senate bill as is or they go to conference. And at that point, health policy wonks will figure out exactly what just passed as the Senate won’t know what they did.

Boy, what an asshole Capito is. Portman voted yes too but everyone knew he would. That whole song and dance she did was intended to deceive her constituents.

I don’t care what happens to them when they lose their healthcare, just like I don’t care what happens to people in this county, which went 70% for Trump.

They HAD health care and they managed to LOSE IT because they are poor judges of character. They’re bad at voting. If they hadn’t have lost it this cycle they would have lost it next. It was just a matter of time.

Obama got ZERO political gain from extending health care to poor white people them and they were too blind and racist to keep it. If someone wants me to advocate for health care in an AA or Latino majority county I will be happy to canvass but I’m done with poor white people. They’ll die young of treatable disease. Their kids won’t get treatment. Their elderly and infirm won’t get nursing home care. Their paychecks will be garnished. They’ll overdose in the convenience store rest room and no one will be there to revive them. They lined up to do this to themselves.
