But thankfully, Trump cannot and will not negate President Obama’s legacy. Nothing will erase the fact that President Obama was the first Black President and oversaw a consequential administration during two SCANDAL-FREE terms. Plus, the legacy of President Obama being a wonderful father, husband and Son-in-Law. A Comforter-in-Chief. A well-spoken, dignified gentleman with endless swag. There is no comparison between Trump and President Obama and Trump knows this. That’s what’s eating him up every night. He can’t touch President Obama’s legacy.

The deliciously karmic kickback is the harder SCROTUS tries to undo, delete, erase, deny, whatever else President Obama has set in place and achieved, the better PBO looks, the brighter he shines, and all 45 gets is to make himself out to be clearly the biggest disaster the planet has yet to witness!!

This is the danger we face now….think of Pence

        from the article:

The American tragedy now being wrought is larger than most imagine and will not end with Trump. In recent times, whiteness as an overt political tactic has been restrained by a kind of cordiality that held that its overt invocation would scare off “moderate” whites. This has proved to be only half true at best. Trump’s legacy will be exposing the patina of decency for what it is and revealing just how much a demagogue can get away with. It does not take much to imagine another politician, wiser in the ways of Washington and better schooled in the methodology of governance—and now liberated from the pretense of antiracist civility—doing a much more effective job than Trump.

And so devastating when you realize that ‘Race as an idea’ is not true. Not in any way real from a biological standpoint.
“Race” is a Cultural Construct that we’re being clubbed over the head with to benefit (…fill in blank). To quote an Anthro friend:
“We’ve turned human biological variability into (reified) essences called ‘race’ as if they are independent things, and not what they
are — human population variants like gradations in skin, hair and eye color. These are clinal differences, not typological.”
      Same dna, same species.

Edit/amend: “your president is white trash…”

THIS IS AN AWESOME PIECE…..A MUST Read

      from the article:

The focus on one subsector of Trump voters—the white working class—is puzzling, given the breadth of his white coalition. Indeed, there is a kind of theater at work in which Trump’s presidency is pawned off as a product of the white working class as opposed to a product of an entire whiteness that includes the very authors doing the pawning. The motive is clear: escapism. To accept that the bloody heirloom remains potent even now, some five decades after Martin Luther King Jr. was gunned down on a Memphis balcony—even after a black president; indeed, strengthened by the fact of that black president—is to accept that racism remains, as it has since 1776, at the heart of this country’s political life. The idea of acceptance frustrates the left. The left would much rather have a discussion about class struggles, which might entice the white working masses, instead of about the racist struggles that those same masses have historically been the agents and beneficiaries of. Moreover, to accept that whiteness brought us Donald Trump is to accept whiteness as an existential danger to the country and the world. But if the broad and remarkable white support for Donald Trump can be reduced to the righteous anger of a noble class of smallville firefighters and evangelicals, mocked by Brooklyn hipsters and womanist professors into voting against their interests, then the threat of racism and whiteness, the threat of the heirloom, can be dismissed. Consciences can be eased; no deeper existential reckoning is required.

Former U.S. president Barack Obama is to attend the Invictus Games for wounded and recovering warriors in Toronto later this month.
Kevin Lewis, a spokesperson for Obama, said the former president wants to lend his support to American competitors “to once again express his gratitude for their service and his admiration for their courage and resilience.” Obama plans to meet with some of the wounded warriors competing in 12 adaptive sports at the Toronto games, which run from Sept. 23 to 30. https://www.guelphmercury.com/sports-story/7541686-barack-obama-to-cheer-on-invictus-games-in-toronto/

Humans were smaller then too……explains a lot why some men have to hunt bears and other creatures, because they were the “hunted” at one time before AK47s.

    • September 7, 2017 at 11:50 pm

Heh not enough bears for one thing. People came around partly in boats. Like saying nobody goes to the Arctic due to polar bears! Waves of people came from North East Asia and we now have very old occupations and stone tools to prove it in Texas, Florida…Brazil, Chile (14 – 16,000 years ago. Just now a new one in Brazil goes to 23,000 years.) Lots of people came over the VAST Beringia (now a narrow strait) and no archeo would say with a straight face that any kind of bears stopped them. (Picturing bears in a defensive football line up in helmets.)

The success of the American women at this year’s US Open is nothing else than a reward from the Williams sisters’ inspiration to the younger generation, according to former world number one Mats Wilander.

Venus Williams, Sloane Stephens, Madison Keys and CoCo Vandeweghe all qualified for the semi-finals, making almost sure the 23,771 seats of Arthur Ashe Stadium will be taken on Thursday and then for Saturday’s final.

Serena Williams missed the tournament as she was expecting her first child.

“It’s the resurgence of American tennis, even though on the men’s side John Isner and Sam Querrey had a chance to go the semis or the final and they screwed that up,” Wilander, who is in New York as an analyst for Eurosport, said on Wednesday in his daily chat with Reuters.

“Querrey still got to the quarter-finals but with the women it’s like an awakening of American tennis with Serena not being here. Obviously Venus is pulling everyone alongside her.”

Asked to elaborate on the reasons why the younger generation was blooming, the Swede said he thought the Williams sisters had served as an inspiration for the likes of Vandeweghe, Stephens and Keys who are all in their early to mid-20s.

“They come from the Williams sisters. They are about 13-14 younger than Venus and 10-11 than Serena. Serena and Venus were 17-18 years old when they started winning,” Wilander said.

Truth can be devastating. KOCH/McConnell so terrified of PBO. Their long range global corporate takeover plans were interrupted when least expected. They knew they could NEVER compete with his incredible range of talent. GO FUGLY is the GOP motto.

Daughter lives in immediate path of Irma.
So thinking how BIG OIL (Tillerson) denied their scientists’ early warnings – four decades ago – that burning fossil fuels causes global warming.
(My theory is they also wanted to melt the Arctic.) For 4 decades they’ve run a disinformation campaign against Climate Change. So now the planet is living the beginning of the fallout of their dirty machinations. And they’re STILL receiving $billions in subsidies that could help pay for the devastation of this hurricane…STOP THE OIL SUBSIDIES.
