How are the fires around Ventura?

      • 5 0388jojothecat
        December 6, 2017 at 11:47 am

Still going Judith. This is the last time of high winds. Unfortunately the high winds have blown ambers to many areas and the fire departments are stretched beyond capacity. I have a friend who has many cats and we were all on high alert in case we need to help her evacuate. I know many people in the areas closer to where me and GGail live who are sitting on pins and needles today not knowing if the fires will come their way. The smoke from the fires are also creating huge health issues for young and old for ALL of southern California.

To all, know that the TOD family is in my prayers each morning during my quiet time with the Lord. Just saying. ❤ ❤ ❤

I just don’t get the gun fetish, I truly don’t. I’ve tried to have conversations with co-workers that are gun owners. I’ve never owned a gun in my life and never had the desire to own one. Even at work where I come in contact with guns on a daily basis I’ve never had the urge to own one. As a matter of fact I’m required to qualify with a gun and a semi-automatic rifle every year as a condition of employment. America is going to turn into the wild wild west, well more of a wild wild west.

So states that actually have sensible gun control are going to be forced to accept idiots with concealed firearms? Looking forward to the lawsuit. Scary that SCOTUS is now leaning right.

  7. December 6, 2017 at 9:42 am

I was watching LarryO last night, and guess what….

Guess who’s had a change of heart since they voted FOR the GOP Tax Scam?

Those 11 or 12 GOPers from California.
They were all big and bad when they voted FOR it..

But. they went home and heard from their constituents.

    I’ve said from the beginning..
These are not the folks that give two shyts about the Little Baby Jesus, or Abortion, or Guns..

    They are the IGMFY Republicans.
They are Republicans because of TAXES.

And, rarely, if ever, can you attach something happening in your life DIRECTLY to a single vote.
Their constituents are like – Muthaphuckas, you best not even think about raising my taxes….

So now, they want to resinstate the state and local tax deductions..

    Uh huh
    Uh huh

      GM rikyrah.

GOP elected officials *actually* believe they work for donors.

Wait until they find out the truth when they’re booted out of office next year.

Not to worry though, they’ve made their pact with the devil (donors) and will get cushy, corrupt lobbying jobs once they’re out of office (unless they serve jail time first — which is my hope).

The government shutdown deadline is just two days away
    12/06/17 10:09 AM
    By Steve Benen

There’s never been a federal government shutdown when one party controls both the White House and Congress. That may change this week.

As Rachel noted on the show the other day, when there’s a possible shutdown looming, the political world is ordinarily fascinated by the drama. It’s a testament to just how frenetic the current environment is that the federal government will run out of money in two days, and much of the country probably isn’t aware of the pending deadline.

The first step in preventing the government from shutting down will be a spending bill in the House. Politico reports that Republican leaders appear to have settled on a plan.

House Republican leaders have promised conservatives that they won’t grant concessions to Democrats to get enough votes for a stopgap spending bill – gaining GOP support but also raising the specter of a government shutdown later this month.

National Protests against the #TrumpTaxScam are increasing. We had 90 people out inthe cold in Portland for ours. Staffers for both Democrats Senator Wyden and Rep. Blumenauer came. You can see me briefly in the clip Rachel Maddow played last night. Democrats can get something in the CR negotiations and should use their leverage NOW for CHIP, Dreamers, ACA, etc.

IFFFF Franken Resigns, then NO Ethics Investigation.

If there is a FRANKEN Ethics Investigation, then how the phuck you NOT gonna have a ROY MOORE ETHICS INVESTIGATION (if he gets elected)?

I am seeing our own Senator Patty Murray, is now calling for Al Franken to step down. I am baffled and concerned, as I have every confidence in Sen Murray. If this happens, an already imbalanced senate will become even more so. I wish I could understand. I am so tired, and so stressed, I may have to take a break. {{{ ❤️ TOD }}} 😔🙏🏼🕯♐️

MN has a DEM Governor who is on his final term and he can appoint a another DEM.

      • December 6, 2017 at 1:46 pm

I understand that, but I agree with all the points rikyrah made. Think that is the “nail on head.” Gives the GOP a complete out for doing anything about Moore. Plus, I still believe there’s too much that points to this being a setup against Franken. He should not resign. Stand firm and follow through with the investigation HE asked for.

      • 48 0388jojothecat
        December 6, 2017 at 2:16 pm

THIS I assume is the reasoning. I think Franken deserves to have a hearing and stop calling for his resignation UNTIL he has had his called for hearing. I agree with rikyrah completely. The GOP does not want a Roy Moore hearing and these woman want to be anonymous and maybe not find out they are making more out of this then what actually happened.

Randi Rhodes who has worked with Franken for years and is not a big fan, said he has boundary issues as far as giving a kiss on the lips but she has never seen him as some womanizer harasser with women in the office for the time she worked with him.

  26. 49 Don
    December 6, 2017 at 2:05 pm

If Al Franken were a director or an actor and five or six women came forward and said that he was inappropriate with them, what should our reaction be? I mean we had the pitchforks out for Weinstein and Spacey and other men of power and wealth because they used that power to do some incredibly vile things to both women and men, and the pitchforks should have been out. Now, we can give Franken a pass, sure, we can play that game. We can do that thing wherein we let him go because he happens to share our view of politics. Now some of you are saying “ fuck that, Trump gets to stay and Moore gets to keep running.” But there’s a difference, we aren’t them, and if we let Franken stay. Then we become them, we are different than them. There isn’t a Democrat alive that would let a Roy Moore into the Democratic Party. You think President Obama would campaign for a Roy Moore type?

    • 50 0388jojothecat
      December 6, 2017 at 2:57 pm

I don’t think we are asking to give Franken, “A Pass” on accusations of SH. We are asking that an Ethics Investigation be held and the same for Roy Moore if he is elected because RM is saying he NEVER heard of these women with all the evidence that he did know them. Franken apologized for the sophomoric behavior pretending to grope the Fox News lady but does not recall the other events she claims of him sticking his tongue in her mouth and he does not recall “groping” these other women and the anonymous women. I believe he deserves to have the hearing and if it’s found he DID all these things I think Franken will step down on his own.
