Congratulations, COS! President Obama is still our leader on climate action.

On another frustrating note, why are the Democrats rushing to judgement on Al Franken before the ethics investigation even starts? I smell a rat! They should be hounding TRUMP to resign instead!

WHO THE HELL VOTES FOR THESE IDIOTS? They have not even passed a final tax bill that will result in the greatest transfer of wealth from poor and middle class Americans to the rich, and Paul Ryan announces they will be looking to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security to deal with the deficit that will result from this transfer. My disgust for the GOP is only matched by my disgust for Americans who vote them into office. It is the reason I could never be a politician, I have zero tolerance for this level of ignorance. And then these white male Americans have the gall to the blame the Dems for “leaving them behind” or “forgetting” them? You demonstrate this level of stupidity and you deserve every damn thing that comes your way.

Needless to say, I am not a good candidate for having discussions with those who believe in these idiots:-)

Where is Bob? We need a doctor in the house! Is what happened with DT today indicative of TIA? I’ve heard of it but never witnessed it.

    • 13 Sandy1110
      December 7, 2017 at 12:09 am

My mother suffered a TIA, but it caused her to simply freeze in place – no moving or speaking, staring straight ahead – for a number of seconds until it ended.

It looks like people are going with the less worrisome theory of loose dentures until anything else is confirmed, but Aravosis’ tweet comparing the signatures indicates that he thinks it was something physical/neurological.

That would explain some of the other behaviors – walking past people, mentioning Melania as if she wasn’t there when she was standing right next to him, etc. I wonder if today’s behavior would support the dementia theory as well? Definitely interested in Drs’ opinions.

I’ve seen a lot of speculation on Alzheimer’s but that does not seem credible to me. One of my parents had Alzheimer’s and one had vascular dementia due to congestive heart failure. The symptoms of vascular dementia seem much more in line with what we’ve seen with Trump then with the more dramatic changes that come with Alzheimer’s. But of course, all that can be helped to some extent with current meds. It does seem pretty clear that there has been a significant decline in his mental functioning over the last year given the examples that you cited. And he hasn’t even completed one year. But it seems clear he has cemented his legacy as the great Destroyer.

          December 7, 2017 at 3:21 am

Fronto temporal dementia is my suggestion. It does not affect memory as profoundly at first but language and behavior. Filters for behavior are lost and empathy is lost. It would be masked by Trump’s original personality disorder because of the symptoms of that. Both could be happening together. Where I really watch is his language deterioration. If this is true it is fatal and would progress more rapidly given the enormous demands of the job.

Hey y’all I’m finally back home after taking care of Dad while Mom was away. Had a scare two days ago when he had an incident while playing poker and had to be rushed to the emergency room. He’s ok now, but scared the crap out of me.
Anyway I’d been trying to reach my cousins who live in Los Angeles to see if they are impacted by the fires. Finally heard back: One cousin and his family live in NewPort Beach area, away from the effected area. They are ok. However, his brother and his family, who live in Sherman Oaks have been stuck in a community center shelter for two days unable to evacuate, because freeways are closed. Says food is ok but he’s limiting communication to a few text updates due to limited access to cellphone charging stations. He says fire is 2 miles away from the shelter. 😳 Please add them and all impacted to your prayers.

For as long as I can remember the Republican Party was supposedly the party of the military, but their actions over the years disputes that notion fully. How can vets continue to support an administration that cuts a vital program that houses homeless veterans?

Alabama do the wrong thing! Elect Moore.

Did you think …that just because you work (hard or otherwise), pay taxes, earn half decent pay (or less) … that you deserve social benefits like SS, Medicaid / Medicare etc etc etc???
In fact I think you should go further, insist that govt stop building roads and all infrastructure (psst … that sounds like Socialism to me). Don’t forget to gut anything that may save lives, start with agencies that hold companies responsible for checking safe handling of food to ensure the food you consume is safe … for starters … Who needs that???
And SS / Medicare etc? Pffftttt … who needs that crap???

And when you elect Moore, please release all pedophiles serving any type of sentence in prison in Alabama … also, I think this should also mean that you are consenting to an open season on mothers, sisters, wives and daughters being groped, assaulted – heck the sky is the limit!

So yes – folks on the right … elect Moore and keep electing REPUBLICAN! Oh and if you feel Republicans are uncaring, stop! You can make them care again by transporting yourself back into your mother’s womb.

    Total snark …

With regard to Franken … I think he is being set-up for the fall.

Once again, sad but I am repeating it One more time…….Sen Franken’s resignation Proves once again why, I have Voted with the Dems, Campaigned, Giving $, travelled to IA 4x on my Dime to help Sen Obama win the IA caucus in 2008, I refused to be a Democrat. Since 2000, Dems don’t fight. Since 1968, they allow GOP to state the rules for the two parties. Union Busted. Voter Suppression, Stolen of ’00 & ’16 elections, Stolen SCOTUS & over 100 Fed Judge seats, etc.
Note: Franken was Never investigated by any major Newspaper like they did with Moore, Spacey, Weinstein, etc. Bothsidesisms & A Dem must be taken down……the #MSM & GOP cheer. Dems eat their own, typical.

With every woman who has come out about AF, the more convinced I become that this is a very well orchestrated attack by GOP operatives. They have mastered how to do these things and every time, the Dems fall for it. Remember Shirley ????. Even the entire Obama administration immediately believed the story. Ended up embarrassing themselves badly. WHY? Why do Dems do this over and over? Will never understand. Sigh…..

I wish AL Franken had held on until his hearing. Listening to Sen Gillibrand try to explain why AF is not entitled to a Ethics hearing was painfully lame. Her excuse was in “private” industry you are fired on the spot but government is different. Usually reps or senators are allowed to complete their term unless its something really awful. Government employees are not fired the same way as private industry workers who can be let go for No reason. EVERYONE on morning joke this morning KNOWS that demanding AF resign is a political calculation by the DEMS. If they get control of congress they want nothing to prevent them from getting rid of Putrid-Orange-Sexual Harrassor in Chief either from the women who are coming forward or by Mueller Russia Investigation. There will be so many DEMS who they won’t demand resign if the Governor is a Rethug. This will look bad.

Every day when we I go on Facebook or Twitter I’m bombarded with stories about women being harassed or groped or assaulted, and in most cases they don’t have the power to do anything about it but suffer in silence. At this moment in time there is a power shift in that this sort of behavior can now be confronted and dealt with. And now as Democrats we are at a pivotal moment in how we as a party deal with women that come forward and say that they have been harassed or groped or assaulted. For me there is no gray area, if you violate a woman or a man you have to go, even if you walked on water or if everybody thought you were a swell guy. And yes, from time to time us as Democrats we shoot ourselves in the foot, but as infuriating as it can be. I would rather shoot myself in the foot from time to time for trying to do the right thing, than not having a conscious at all about doing the wrong thing. This Franken thing will hurt for a moment, but in the end we will be a better party for doing the right thing.

Good words, Don. I’ve already come to grips – today – with Franken’s resignation, and accept it as part of doing the right thing. Although it’s tiresome always trying to be the party that does the right thing when the other one won’t, I don’t like how the alternative looks in the mirror.

The British publicist who arranged the June 2016 meeting with Russians and Donald Trump Jr. sent multiple emails to a Russian participant and a member of Donald Trump’s inner circle later that summer, multiple sources told CNN, the first indication there was any follow-up after the meeting.

The emails raise new questions for congressional investigators about what was discussed at Trump Tower. Trump Jr. has for months contended that after being promised he would get dirt on Hillary Clinton, the brief meeting focused almost exclusively on the issue of Russian adoptions, saying there was no discussion with the participants after that session.
