Damn! the sight of these children having to bare a burden at such a young age is both inspiring and sad. Just look at those faces, children, kids, marching for justice, this is what our children had to endure. Not playing hide and go seek, or tag, or any other games that children play. But marching against an unjust system that does not value them. How do you not look at these faces and it not touch you on an emotional level?

It’s not up to Trump whether to talk to Mueller
    By Jennifer Rubin
    May 2 at 9:45 AM

As Right Turn has discussed from time to time, the story line that President Trump has the option whether to sit down with special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is simply wrong. Mueller has the option to ask the grand jury to issue a subpoena to compel Trump’s testimony under oath and without his lawyer present. (Witnesses can go outside to consult with a lawyer, but witnesses ordinarily do not get to bring their attorney into the grand jury room.) Perhaps now Trump, his lawyers and the TV talking heads will approach Trump’s testimony more realistically: It isn’t up to him to decide to cooperate — unless he wants to take the unprecedented step of thwarting an investigation into his own wrongdoing by invoking the Fifth Amendment.

    …………………………………

Why would Trump’s team leak the questions? It seems that Trump’s lawyers thought the list would show that Mueller was being overbearing or ranging too far. (“The president and several advisers now plan to point to the list as evidence that Mueller has strayed beyond his mandate and is overreaching, they said. … ‘Mueller is in Kenny Starr territory now,’ said another Trump adviser, referring to how the controversial independent counsel investigation of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s real estate deals in Arkansas ended up examining the president’s lies about his sexual relationship with a White House intern.”) The fact remains that Starr was empowered, as Mueller is now, to investigate crimes revealed in the course of the investigation.

If members of Trump’s team thought they’d show that Mueller really was on a witch hunt, they blew it. The list of questions establishes concrete lines of inquiry appropriate to determining whether obstruction of justice and/or improper coordination with Russia occurred. This is not a free-ranging inquiry into Trump’s business deals.

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.”

      Winston Churchill

At this point in time Trump has no choice but to keep doubling down on his insistence that the Mueller investigation is a witch hunt. There is no scenario in which Trump finishes his term out as President. Figuratively speaking, Mueller has Trump by the short hairs.

Mulvaney’s CFPB Considers Moving Staff to the Basement, or Dallas

    May 1, 2018, 3:00 AM CDT Updated on May 1, 2018, 2:42 PM CDT

Mick Mulvaney says he’s legally barred from shutting down the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a regulator he once called a “sick” joke.

But the agency’s acting director could move dozens of employees to the basement of its Washington headquarters. And he might try to relocate other staff members to Dallas.

Such options are being proposed by his top aides as Mulvaney seeks to cut spending at the Republican-loathed watchdog by tens of millions of dollars, according to an internal cost-savings analysis that was obtained by Bloomberg News. Another budget-trimming idea: making employees share desks.

African Americans are often made to feel as though we are uninvited guests in our own country. We are excluded from environments great and small, at times by force and often because of irrational fears and unconscious biases. This being the United States, those individual bigotries have support from an enabling culture and policies that codify them. This exclusion is the very root of racial discrimination, and of the social penalties that whiteness exacts upon blackness.

I remember one time I took my wife to a doctor’s appointment, I had dropped her off at the front entrance of the doctor’s office. I parked the car and went inside to use the restroom, as I was walking back outside to go to my car I noticed this older white woman standing between me and my car. When she noticed me walking towards her the look of terror crossed her face as she clinched her purse tightly. Me being who I am, I smiled at her, almost trying to reassure her with a smile that I was of no harm to her. Because sometimes as a Black male you must smile to reassure people, just so someone like that woman at the doctor’s office don’t start running and screaming thinking that you might try to do something to her. Anyway, when I got in my car, I turned on the radio. Soon afterwards I got angry, I got angry because why did I have to go out of my way to reassure this total stranger that I was of no harm to her. I could have just as easily ignored the look of fear in her eyes and said to myself, that’s her problem. But no, I went the other way, and why did I think to assuage her fear? More importantly, why did I think it necessary to assuage her fear? At that moment, why did I give a fuck about how she felt? I had done nothing wrong, I was minding my business. When will this country notice the humanity of African Americans, when will it go out of its way to reassure the African American?

And these are the tiny battles you’re faced with if you’re an African American, caring about people that don’t care about you.

I can relate Don. When my daughter used to come down to Jamaica to visit me, we got nothing but smiles from the tourists because she is supposedly exotic looking. You know beautiful island girl. But when she and I walk down the streets in NYC so called white areas women clutch their purses closer, or if we go into the better stores we get followed around. Now I just sit and read a book in Macy’s or Bergdorf Goodman whiile my daughter shops. I am so sick and tired of this. She takes it in stride while I get pissed. Now I hardly want to leave the house.

P.R.E.A.C.H. I reached the Queen Petty, no effs left to give phase of my life as an AA woman on Nov 9, 2016. I travel enough for work and now from time to time, particularly in public elevators in office buildings if they’re not too crowded, will make a BIG production of grabbing my purse, moving it to the other side of my body and looking terrified when a white person (male or female) gets on the elevator with me. Sometimes it goes over their head, other times I’ll get a barely perceptible nod, “ok I’m having an ah-ha moment” from them after I get the shocked/surprised/confused reaction, which is priceless.

Talented Teen Trumpeter Just Got Into Juilliard, but His Family Needs Help Covering the $71,000 Price Tag

    Anne Branigin
    Today 9:50am

William Leathers was just 12 years old when he met legendary jazz musician Wynton Marsalis. That year, William had become the youngest trumpeter accepted into the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. After hearing William play, Marsalis went up to William’s teacher and said, “This kid belongs at Juilliard.”

Five years later, William has received that coveted invitation to study at one of the world’s most renowned—and selective—music programs (Marsalis himself is a member of the jazz faculty at the school). But the Canadian teen has one major hurdle: the cost of attendance.

William is just one of three undergraduate trumpeters to be offered a spot at the prestigious New York City school, CBC.ca reports, but because he is an international student, his family will need to fork over $364,000 in Canadian dollars to cover his tuition and housing for four years (that’s almost $71,000 U.S. dollars per year).
