TRUMP WHO FAVORS TORTURE must not be rewarded for using these children as hostages:

Melania sorry. This heart you say needed to “govern” is nowhere evident. IN FACT it’s your husband who needs to follow the laws. Lots of laws. The law he REFUSES to follow is TO KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER. I can’t speak for dictators like Putin and Jong Un, but your husband is possibly the only President in the world who does such a thing. Your husband’s policy – and he was very insistent about it – is
to separate families and put children and babies of all ages at risk. Very sorry that you married a terrible, terrilble liar.

Good Morning TOD, I am so distraught about this border policy that I’m going to share a personal moment:

This man is the White House (who has no core value) lead by Stephen Miller, Jeff Sessions and John Kelly who all sanction this policy made me question the Lord this morning. I don’t do that very often or take my faith casually. Then I remembered that Satan is busy in this world as well and that these people carrying out this horrendous policy are pure EVIL and there is nothing Godly sanctioined about what they are doing.

I despise Trump more and more everyday!

    • June 18, 2018 at 9:57 am

Every morning I wake up with a knot in my stomach. I feel sickened by this sadism. I feel nauseous at the way these families have been portrayed as criminals. I feel pain at the thought of all the children whose lives are being ruined. Because trust me, they will live with this trauma all their days. This constant dehumanization of the poor, of people of color, of women is the hallmark of this administration and of all the Republicans in Congress. We must do everything in our power to vote them out.

Peaceful Assembly and Personal Security – Re-upped
    by Adam L Silverman
    11:15 pm on June 17, 2018

I know a number of you all are planning to join one of the various protests, actions, and/or demonstrations that will begin taking place as a result of the President’s family separation policy. So I wanted to re-up the post for anyone that missed it the first several times I posted it. I also saw a tweet, which I can’t find right now, from one of the protesters at the Vice President’s event last week in Ohio who said that the audience assaulted her and other protestors before event security came and escorted them out. So you need to prepare yourself that there may be violence if you protest at this type of event. I would recommend designating one member of your group to begin to record video as soon as the demonstration starts and for that person to do nothing but quietly stand and video events so there is a record and they don’t have to worry about being attacked. And one other person as the dedicated video recording person’s buddy so they can keep their head on a swivel and look out for that person’s wellbeing. Also, stay as close to the perimeter of the event, near an exit, and with your back to a wall if at all possible.

Here’s How You Can Help Fight Family Separation at the Border
    Lawyers, translators, donations, protest.

    JUNE 15, 2018

If you’re horrified by news of families being separated at the borders, here’s a bit of news you can use.

First, the policy: It helps to be incredibly clear on what the law is, and what has and has not changed. When Donald Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders say that the policy of separating children from their parents upon entry is a law passed by Democrats that Democrats will not fix, they are lying.

There are two different policies in play, and both are new.

Trump sees immigrant children as bargaining chips in political fight
    06/18/18 08:40 AM
    By Steve Benen

ndeed, the New York Times had an excellent piece over the weekend documenting how the president and his team decided to pull the trigger in recent months.

[F]or George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the idea of crying children torn from their parents’ arms was simply too inhumane – and too politically perilous – to embrace as policy, and Mr. Trump, though he had made an immigration crackdown one of the central issues of his campaign, succumbed to the same reality, publicly dropping the idea after [White House Chief of Staff John Kelly’s comments in March] touched off a swift backlash.

But advocates inside the administration, most prominently Stephen Miller, Mr. Trump’s senior policy adviser, never gave up on the idea. Last month, facing a sharp uptick in illegal border crossings, Mr. Trump ordered a new effort to criminally prosecute anyone who crossed the border unlawfully – with few exceptions for parents traveling with their minor children.

We know when the president did this, we know why, and we know how. We even know who was helping drive the decision behind the scenes. Trump may be desperate to shift the blame for his policy to those who have nothing to do with it, but top members of his team have openly acknowledged that this was, and is, the White House’s idea.

I’m heading off to Hawaii with my hubby for an 9-day vacation. I plan to be at the beach most of the time, hike or go to beautiful sites and try to heal my soul of all the corruption and ugliness I’ve been seeing and reading for the past week since school finished. I need a break or this will consume me. I am privileged to have accumulated airmiles, to have a good friend, who’s husband is in the coast guard and is stationed at Pearl Harbor, to stay with. We’ve had a difficult 6 months with our kids for various reasons, and now that things have settled down, we are looking forward to having a peaceful time. I won’t be on TOD and I’m not planning on watching any news, or looking at twitter even which will be difficult. But I know my soul needs a break and although those children and parents at the borders don’t get one, and I feel guilty about that, I will be praying every day for them. As a person of faith, this time has been very challenging for me and I must confess I have been wavering alot. How could there be a God but as a teacher of history, this is nothing new. Our version of the holocaust could happen here. Anyway, take care of yourselves. I will miss you all. See you in 9 days.

For those that don’t understand just how horrific this is….there are no plans to actually reunite these children with their parents or family members that are US residents. NONE. The question should be what does ICE plan to do with them? Keep them for how long? Till what? Yeah the conditions are horrid…but are these conditions for permanent stay? Yeah, ask that….exactly how long do they keep children there and then what? Released to who?

That’s another point that must be made..

We as a nation at times don’t seem able to deal with atrocities with the quickness and seriousness that they deserve. We always have to appeal to a person’s moral compass before they will do the right thing. We have centuries worth of data that prove this point.

    Just a reminder…

WHY haven’t their children been returned to them?

WHAT is the process by where these children will be reunited with their DEPORTED PARENTS?

Also they are shipping these children ALL OVER the USA! New Jersey, California, Miami, etc., My exact same questions, if they have deported the parents why not send the children WITH THEM? Why are we holding these children hostage at the expense of the American Taxpayer? Who is making money off these children! Maybe the Trumpanzees will react when they are aware THEY ARE PAYING for these children to STAY!

President Bush made some very big mistakes and many lives paid for those mistakes. Some who were around him are considered evil. Today:
TRUMP IS AN EVIL MAN WITHOUT CONSCIENCE. President Bush could help now by speaking out for thousands of forcibly removed babies at the hands of the Trump Administration. Trump is lying about the law which keeps families together. He is lying about families coming peacefully and with hope for legal asylum whose babies are removed. Some children are attempting suicide, some will become ill and die. Some as adults will come back to haunt the USA. President Bush might be able to help stop the violent confrontation that Trump hopes to foment.

You simply can’t put a child in a cage, and expect that child to come out of that cage mentally intact.

Who is making money off housing the children and families. That’s who we need to go after since Republicans clearly have no morals.— Dirty Computer (@Johngcole) June 18, 2018

    It’s called HOSTAGE TAKING.
Who steps in when we have a hostage taking? Anybody that is not bought off by the Dicktraitor and his SS?

Last month, I reported on a meeting at DHS in August, 2017, in which Administration officials advocated for family separation to deter migrants, including asylum seekers, from Central America. Guess what was also on the agenda in that meeting?

Ending the Flores Agreement, which mandated that the government meet minimum requirements for how to treat immigrant kids in government custody.

Since the late 1990s, the terms of Flores got shored up and strengthened, through a 2008 law and subsequent direction from the courts. To those in the Admin who advocate separation of families, putting an end to these protections was a priority, too. Why?

Stephen Miller, Gene Hamilton, Jeff Sessions—they all thought that ending these protections would discourage families and kids from migrating north to seek asylum. Without Flores, etc, kids could be held in detention longer, under tougher conditions.

Family separation. Curbing asylum (e.g. sessions’ decision last week). Chipping away at Flores. All are of a piece.

someone on another blog had a simple question with regards to the kids:

don’t understand why the kids don’t even have simple plastic id/info bracelets like they have in hospitals.

let’s be blunt- that is only a solution for those who actually WANT to keep up with the children.

Now, we’re up to almost TWELVE THOUSAND CHILDREN in the custody of DHS?
