President Obama knows what is the radiant expression and purity of words, lifting us up, facing difficulty. He shows us how the face of suffering is our own face and we must engage – by doing so we come home. What a blessing he is! How timely is our PBO’s birth!

What, precisely, did President Trump say about the diametrically opposed statements concerning Russia and the 2016 U.S. elections by U.S. intelligence agencies (and the Senate Intelligence Committee) and by Putin concerning Russia and the 2016 U.S. elections? Precision is not part of Trump’s repertoire: He speaks English as though it is a second language that he learned from someone who learned English last week. So, it is usually difficult to sift meanings from Trump’s word salads. But in Helsinki he was, for him, crystal clear about feeling no allegiance to the intelligence institutions that work at his direction and under leaders he chose.

Speaking of Republicans incapable of blushing — those with the peculiar strength that comes from being incapable of embarrassment — consider Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.), who for years enjoyed derivative gravitas from his association with John McCain (Ariz.). Graham tweeted about Helsinki: “Missed opportunity by President Trump to firmly hold Russia accountable for 2016 meddling and deliver a strong warning regarding future elections.” A “missed opportunity” by a man who does not acknowledge the meddling?

Contrast Graham’s mush with this on Monday from McCain, still vinegary: “Today’s press conference in Helsinki was one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory.” Or this from Arizona’s other senator, Jeff Flake (R): “I never thought I would see the day when our American president would stand on the stage with the Russian President and place blame on the United States for Russian aggression.” Blame America only.

Regardless of motive Trump publicly betrayed his country. Nothing he does now has any validity.
He doesn’t want to admit that Russian interference with the election probably means he’a not a legitimate president. Because if so nothing he’a done so far is valid. And all the dirty filth he has done could theoretically be undone. KOCH doesn’t want this. Putin doesn’t want this.

PBO’s speech was everything and more. I was up until 1.30am to listen!

At times he seemed so sad at what was happening in the US & then he reverted to so much of what he said back in 2008 on the trail. I LOVED the talk about – “what can you do with all those billions – how many houses can you own, trips can you make”

I’ve always been so happy because we have enough – we have a home, can pay the bills and smell the flowers. To the few who demand the billions & want to control how we live – I wish nothing but misery.

On Butina and her connection/exposure of the NRA ties to Russia and Trump:
    1) “Authorities have been investigating whether Butina and Torshin, both gun enthusiasts who attended NRA events together, were part of a plot to funnel Russian money through the NRA to the Trump campaign, perhaps through NRA entities that were not required to disclose their funding sources.” ((Politico)
    2) “The Treasury Department and IRS announced TODAY that the IRS will no longer require certain tax-exempt organizations to file personally-identifiable information about their donors as part of their annual return.” (Salon)
    3) “the change, which has been long sought by conservatives and Republicans in Congress, will affect labor unions, social clubs and, most notably, many political groups like the National Rifle Association and the KOCH network’s Americans for Prosperity, which collect what is
    known as ‘dark money.” (NYT)
    4) -Trump did this before Butina’s court date tomorrow.

Top Voting Machine Vendor Admits It Installed Remote-Access Software on Systems Sold to States
Remote-access software and modems on election equipment ‘is the worst decision for security short of leaving ballot boxes on a Moscow street corner.’

The nation’s top voting machine maker has admitted in a letter to a federal lawmaker that the company installed remote-access software on election-management systems it sold over a period of six years, raising questions about the security of those systems and the integrity of elections that were conducted with them.

In a letter sent to Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) in April and obtained recently by Motherboard, Election Systems and Software acknowledged that it had “provided pcAnywhere remote connection software … to a small number of customers between 2000 and 2006,” which was installed on the election-management system ES&S sold them.

The statement contradicts what the company told me and fact checkers for a story I wrote for the New York Times in February. At that time, a spokesperson said ES&S had never installed pcAnywhere on any election system it sold. “None of the employees, … including long-tenured employees, has any knowledge that our voting systems have ever been sold with remote-access software,” the spokesperson said.

Good morning all, i am really stunned at the happenings of the last 2 days, are we perhaps at the beginning of the end of America as we know it? It is not too far fetched when the co-equal branches of government act like lapdogs to the Traitor in Chief, where is the urgency to replace all and I mean ALL voting machines, is the attack from all sides so overwhelming that what is being done by a few patriots is not enough or are folks still in denial stage that ‘this is America it cant happen here’. Well it did in Helsinki and it wasn’t the first time, that was just the most blatant manifestation, this seems like when you go to the doctor for a minor cold and he tells you to put your affairs in order. The Democratic National Committee has been trying and failing for months to force documents into White House adviser Jared Kushner’s hands to let him know that he is being served with a lawsuit, according to a Tuesday Bloomberg report.

The DNC sued Kushner back in April for alleged collusion with the Russians to alter the 2016 election. Since then, they have come up against a ridiculous multitude of obstacles in trying to officially deliver the notice to him.

After being rejected from his Manhattan apartment three times and from his Washington residence by the Secret Service, they finally tried to just send the documents in the mail. No dice. No one would sign for them and they got returned.

The committee reportedly asked a judge Tuesday for permission to simply mail the summons and complaint to Kushner in ordinary first class, so the package does not require a signature.

Per Bloomberg, the DNC sued Kushner alongside Russia, the Trump campaign and WikiLeaks for interference in the 2016 election.
