    the beltway and some people cannot help themselves – they simply have to go on and on about “divisions” in the Democratic party;

    I suspect that many here have noted how there is this tendency to credit others with things PBO did and implored us to in order to strengthen our role as citizens in a democracy;

    just a few of the things that PBO pushed include:

    – creating enthusiasm by being honest and true to your values guided by a moral compass;

    – coalition building,

    – organizing,

    – registering new voters (especially young voters and minorities),

    – empowering each one to be creative in the campaign,

    – mobilizing small donations as a way to push for campaign finance reform,

    – campaigning against an unfair income distribution;

    etc …..

    many pretend that these:

    – are not the core values of the Democratic party;

    – first happened in the 2016 election;

    – are the exclusive intellectual property of the non-democrat who uses the party name and resources but then turns around and destroys the party brand name by highlighting mainly shortcomings (real and imaginary);

    – other Dems have not used them before or are not using them but just framing the issues differently;

      ha, you and I are thinking the same and posted about the same time;

      …. the false divisive narrative is so annoying and is intended to create suspicion among Dem voters and dampen enthusiasm of what we need to do to get this country on the right path again

      Desantis is a pure Trump toady and perfect for Trump’s racist base.

      Gillum should stay focused on the issues, but hopefully he has a good oppo team who can make sure this info finds its way out there.

    I lived in Central Florida during Katrina. One of my proudest moments during its immediate aftermath was when my son said to me, after seeing the coverage about how much non-perishable food and clothing and other supplies the survivors needed, “If I had a large truck, you know what that would mean.” And I said, “What?” And he said, “Road trip!” What a guy! #HeartOfGold #ProudMama ❤ 🙂

    The local DC news was covering the preparations for McCain’s funeral last night. They were pointing out the front row which was reserved for former presidents. The chair on the aisle, they said, is normally reserved for the current president, but since Trump isn’t invited, it’s believed that Obama will sit there.

    I have no great love for McCain, but he was a vicious bastard, and I like to believe he knew enough about state funerals to deliberately make that a bonus FU (on top of being disinvited) to Trump. I hope that description gets repeated a lot.

      Also on Rachel Maddow’s show she had a guest on who supposedly had “SEEN” everything politically but never saw someone who polled low beat out the incumbent like Mr. Gillium. REALLY!? I recall in 2008 a young Illinois Senator who beat out the leading candidate and won IOWA and kept winning until he won the nomination of his party. These people only live in month-to-month history they just can’t or won’t reach back because it’s too hard I guess.

    Pull back the curtain. Grab the power that the Constitution gave to the people of this nation. Expose them for the corrupt frauds that they are. They have been working against all of us, and for the benefit of the rich and powerful for a loooooooooong time! Time’s Up! VOTE THEM OUT!

      Great!!!! When Will Bush and PBO speak at McCain’s funeral Meta?

      • August 30, 2018 at 2:44 pm

        His DC funeral is on Saturday. But it looks like it’s private……I was so looking forward to hearing him speak.

        Saturday, Sept. 1: At 8:30 a.m., there will be a wreath-laying ceremony at the Vietnam War Memorial. At 10 a.m., the national memorial service will be held in a private ceremony at Washington National Cathedral. The day will include tributes by McCain’s daughter Meghan and son Jimmy, Pres. George W. Bush, Pres. Barack Obama, Sen. Joe Lieberman and Henry Kissinger. There will be readings by his daughter Sidney, Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Sen. Lindsey Graham. Renee Fleming will perform “Danny Boy.” Among the 15 pallbearers are former Vice President Joe Biden, actor Warren Beatty and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.

      He hated giving the military their pay raise….so he did the next best thing….deny raises to federal employees. Here I thought he did not want to do what Obama did. At least with Obama we WERE in financial straits with the economy tanking because of the Repukilicans.

      They already got a raise which they refused to give up so the Orange-Turd had to hurt them and the other federal employees by refusing to give them a raise. Since only Congress can appropriate funds can they tell Turd, NO! the raises go through?
