Great. There were about the same amount of people that were at the one I went to in Camden County, NJ tonight.

    RECOUNT ANYONE?
    1) Mr. Gillum qualifies for a recount:
“Democratic candidate for governor, Andrew Gillum, trails Republican Ron DeSantis by less than 39,000 votes, or 0.47 percent, as of Thursday evening. Florida law dictates that a machine recount is triggered if the margin drops below 0.5 percent.” (Entralgo, TP)
    RECOUNT ANYONE?
    2) Mr. Nelson qualifies for a recount:
“The Senate race is even closer: incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson trails Republican Gov. Rick Scott by less than 17,000 votes — a margin of 0.22 percent. A manual recount, a longer, more thorough process, is triggered if the margin falls below 0.25 percent.” (Entralgo, TP)

Andrew Gillum’s lawyer w/be on Chris Hayes’ show, this hour. Apparently, there WILL be a recount of the Governor’s race in Florida.

    Yes, please.

THIS is getting good!!! Pass the popcorn! Recounts, counting ballots in AZ, GA and FLA, “Protect Mueller” protests, dems taking control come the New Year, the pain and PTSD of 2016 are falling away! Now when Whitaker gets forced out will make it complete. SOOOO grateful for this site.

ain’t this great? We’ve had to put up with Trump and ilk for two years. The horrors that have put us all through, and my husband and I shake our heads at his followers adoration. Many who are friends of ours.. Tester had trust on his side, as a farmer, his people realized they were one of them, like that incoming A-A RN legislator in Illinois. She won with 85% white citizenry. They got to know her. Onward.

Faker-In-Chief tries to answer about tax returns (that we wouldn’t possibly understand). “Nobody turns over a return when it’s under audit, okay?”
Fact: “every president since Watergate has had his tax returns audited automatically”. PBO put his on-line for all to see.

    M. A. G. A. !! = MUELLER AIN’T GOING AWAY!!

Did the rally in beautiful downtown Albuquerque! Other favorite chant was: NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!!

New Mexico is BUH- BUH- BLUuuuE! TOTALLY!

Governor Elect, latina, Michelle Lujan Grisham!! (She’s AWESOME!)

3 DEM U.S. Reps.: 2 women, 2 hispanics and 1 Native American (figure that one out 🙂 )

    AND BOTH Senators are Dems!!

(I know, it’s only NM. Sparsely populated. But as born-and-raised I’m happy and PROUD!)

Hi Magpie! I am born and raised in ABQ! Went to Rio Grande High school, and that is where I saw our soon to be President Obama in August 2008. My husband is from Hobbs (ruby red) and we never expected southern New Mexico to flip to blue. So happy for New Mexico!

I like the move Rep Nadler made which I read in other previous TOD posts: (paraphrasing here), if iQ45 & his cohort of an acting AG tries to stymie Mueller investigation, then here come public, televised hearings w/ Mueller et al. If that happens, I would run out of popcorn. My DVR would pass out! 😂😯😎

    https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/415862-judge-blocks-keystone-xl-pipeline

A federal judge blocked the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline Thursday, saying the Trump administration’s justification for approving it last year was incomplete.

In a major victory for environmentalists and indigenous rights groups, Judge Brian Morris of the District Court for the District of Montana overturned President Trump’s permit for the Canada-to-Texas pipeline, which the president signed shortly after taking office last year.

Morris’s ruling repeatedly faulted the Trump administration for reversing former President Obama’s 2015 denial of the pipeline permit without proper explanation. He said the State Department “simply discarded” climate change concerns related to the project.

The decision once again throws into doubt the future of the 1,179-mile Keystone XL, which for much of the decade since its proposal by TransCanada Corp. has been a lightning rod in national energy policy.

Dropping in late to the party — can someone Tweet what I learned here on TOD that NancySmash was responsible for helping get the ACA passed after it came back from the Senate with all the changes? That she rallied all the Dems to support the bill so PBO could sign it 8 to law?
I think, considering how many Dem candidates ran on saving health insurance, and how many people all over the country voted Dem because of that, that that piece of info alone would make her a shoe in for SoH.

I am so sorry meta, praying your family and their home will be safe. This is not fire season, so little rain in all of California. I am in So Cal and those santa ana winds were kicking up in the mountain area where I live.

        • November 9, 2018 at 8:59 am

Thanks so much, JoJo. The fire professionals are saying there is no longer any such thing as fire season anymore. Fires are going to happen year round. Climate Change. It hurts deeply not only to see families suffer so much but to watch the destruction of so much unique, gorgeous land and territory that is California.

I live in SF and the smell of fire is strong. Just got an alert text to close windows and stay indoors. I hope you will be safe in SoCal.

My first and, so far, only trip to Berlin was as a teenager, a train ride from Nuremberg with my high school girls and boys basketball team. My most vivid memory, other than the cute boy on the opposing team that I had a crush on and the amazing architecture, was the sight of guards with machine guns on both sides of the train as we rolled through the checkpoint at the border to East Germany and, again later as we rode along that wall in Berlin.

      From the book: (and WP)

In the 426-page book, Obama lays out her complicated relationship with the political world that made her famous. But her memoir is not a Washington read full of gossip and political score-settling — though she does lay bare her deep, quaking disdain for Trump, who she believes put her family’s safety at risk with his vehement promotion of the false birther conspiracy theory.

“The whole [birther] thing was crazy and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed. But it was also dangerous, deliberately meant to stir up the wingnuts and kooks,” she writes. “What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington? What if that person went looking for our girls? Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family’s safety at risk. And for this I’d never forgive him.”
