Hey all. I’m back from a wonderful wedding in Australia of my awesome nephew and his new bride which took place on Jan 19th. I returned yesterday and am not sure what time it is at any given moment as I got about 2 hours of sleep on the plane (of a 12 hour flight) and believe it is now 2:02 PST and tomorrow morning in Aussieland. I did not watch much at all while in Aus, so am trying to catch up. I did miss being here, though. Glad to see Nancy Pelosi is standing firm and the Democrats are behind her. Sad to see Mitch McConnell continuing to get away with ruining the Senate.

watching closely how people respond to the implication to the separation of powers, when that scumbag is denied a venue in the House.

the responses will once again clarify the enablers of treasonous, evil, corrupt behavior by Individual 1 …

Davos underway (minus the fake president):
“Oxfam reports that the wealth of the 2,200 billionaires across the globe increased by $900 billion last year – or $2.5 billion a day. Their 12 percent increase in wealth contrasts with a drop of 11 percent in the wealth of the bottom half of the people of the world. In fact, the world’s 26 richest billionaires now own as much as the 3.8 billion who comprise the bottom half of the planet’s population.”
If Davos’s attendees ignore all this, and blame the rise of right-wing populism around the globe on racism fueled by immigrants from the Middle East and from Central America, they’re deluding themselves.
The real source of the rise of repressive authoritarianism, nativism, and xenophobia in the United States as well as Italy, Spain, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Denmark, Bulgaria, Greece, France, and Britain is a pervasive sense that elites are rigging the world economy for themselves.
And, guess what? They are.” (Robert Reich)

Trump is a sham president and should not be permitted to give his State of the Union speech while 800,000 American families are suffering from his everlasting temper tantrum and while he is remains a Putin puppet.

You know, even while he’s showing off his ‘skills in wheeling and dealing’ it would surprise me if at this point Idiot-45 has even (had) written the web of lies that he seems so gung-ho to share. This *admin* doesn’t generally plan ahead so while arguing for a SOTU I bet they’ve forgotten to research and prepare so they’d have something meaningful to share.

Some of you may find this an interesting listen. Brando talking about children seeing themselves/families painted in an awful light in the movies

    transcript starting at approximately 5:45

    //…….
This was a larger issue and it’s an issue nobody in the motion picture industry had even addressed themselves to unless forced to. I mean, the blacks have brought about changes because they were just damn angry about it and they thumped and tugged and threatened and made some noise about it. But if they’d just been silent and thought that, well, gradually wisdom would come to those who run the business of the movies and they’ll do right by us they would have never come. We have a lot to be grateful for that the blacks were as insistent as they were, that the image of blacks are changing. But it’s a block by block fight. People are very timorous now about showing blacks in an unkindly light, but they will go on with the Filipino houseboy and ……

Random thoughts & hearing Nancy Smash just put Minus in place (NYT reporting that he’s gonna lie to the world after shutdown) & bring back one part of our governance. So this song just simply popped in my mind: It’s My House: 😂😏

The “Why” is because …the shutdown is NOT a means to an end…It Is The End in itself….that is why Trump talks about months even years for the shutdown…in addition the destruction of government has been a “wet dream” for many on the right forever.

Bound, gagged and beaten, forced into slavery by unindicted co-conspirator:
“The Office of Personnel Management has issued a memo to agencies calling on them to punish workers who call out sick. Specifically, “If an employee is excepted from furlough, and therefore required to work during the shutdown yet has failed to do so, he or she would be considered AWOL during the period of any such unauthorized absence.”” (Daily Kos)

    • January 24, 2019 at 12:12 pm

So you are out or almost out of cash, you have children, possibly child care costs, a sick or elderly family member, you need gas or travel money, yet you are punished for needing a job to keep the roof over your head and food on the table. Ross doesn’t know why you need a food bank. Compromised president is inviting an ATTACK on our nation. What will end Trump’s reign of sadism and abuse?

This isn’t enforceable because if you have sick time saved up you can use your sick time, so good luck trying to fuck someone over for using the sick time that they’ve earned.

      • 106 Don
        January 24, 2019 at 1:08 pm

In lieu of sick time you can even use accrued annual leave, get the fuck out of here with this absurd bullshit from OPM. Whenever I take my son to his medical appointments I use sick leave. This shit pisses me off to no end, first of all you aren’t paying me and now you want to try to strong-arm me into coming to work.

        • 107 Don
          January 24, 2019 at 1:18 pm

I personally know people that have thousands of hours of sick time saved up, so if they wanted to be a dick about the situation they could just sit home and use their sick leave and really fuck over the agency that they work for. I’m a work as we speak and they have fucking bags of food and toiletries to give to coworkers just so they won’t go hungry. I’m looking at bags of toilet paper and soap and toothpaste that will be handed out to my fellow coworkers. And fucking OPM wants to hand out some bullshit like this.

p.s. can we be done with birthing in hospitals which are for sick, infected and injured people.
Maternal deaths in the USA = highest in developed world. Options include specifically staffed birthing centers and midwives at home.
