Anniebella. What color is her dress? In the previous post, it looked navy or deep blue. But in this video it looks like plum or eggplant color. Either way, it looks great on her.
I love the cut of the outfit, especially the neckline. It definitely flatters her figure. Just goes to show how lighting can make all the difference in seeing the color of a garment.
I love the story were FLOTUS tells about her Grandmother, letting her and her brother eat take out burger and fries. Grandma put the burger and fries on a plate, then she open a can of garden peas. Ladies and Gentlemen our FLOTUS is the best, when I think of who ever runs against POTUS, Mitt, Newt, or Rick’s wife, they better be dam sure before they put their wife out there trying to complete with FLOTUS. No competition, FLOTUS all the way.
what a moving and inspiring speech! i know it’s kind of long, but do take the time to listen. she hits all the right notes, says all the needed things, and demonstrates exceedingly well, to anyone who might doubt her personal power and intention, that she is in this to get the job done. she says, in closing, that she looks forward to working with us for ‘years to come’. yep, years, and that means another four after this one.
I think you have the Maine Caucus numbers transposed! Mitt received 52% of the GOP vote in 2008 and tonight he received only 38%! This translates to the fact that in just four years, Mitt Romney’s GOP support in Maine dropped a whopping 14%! Surely, winning Maine by a just 2%, over Ron Paul, is nothing to brag about.
I’m here trying to do the Platypus Walk! Silly and fun! She is just so genuine, so real, so much fun! Plus, she really can dance. I would have LOVE to have been at Pres. Obama’s 50th birthday party. I bet they had LOADS of fun. I remember Tom Joyner (a syndicated morning DJ) talking about it. He said all the guests were “gettin’ it it” when it came to dancing!!
She was found dead at her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton hotel in L.A She was to be honot at
the Grammys was it drugs it’s not clear.but it very sad such a magnificent singer.
I have been out all day, and this is the first time I’ve had to really sit down and log in, and this is the first thread I opened, smiling at our First Lady, and I see this.
OMG — I just saw some photos of Whitney from a few days ago and she didn’t look well. CRAZY!
Damn, this is too sad. I really can’t believe. I really admired Whitney when I was younger. I remember walking to the record shop and getting my Bodyguard tape. Damn!! RIP Whitney
What a tragedy. Such a shame, that beautiful, beautiful voice lost to us, as it has been for a long time. I was always hoping she could find the strength to recover from her demons and make a comeback. I know many people were trying to help and pulling for her. Very sad.
One of the panels I attended was about using data tools to mobilize voters. In the eight years since I did this kind of work for ACORN, a lot of research has been done on what does and doesn’t work in increasing turnout. For example, calling someone and asking them to vote has zero effect on the likelihood that they will vote. But if you call them and get them to visualize voting by, say, asking them what time or how they’re going to the polls, they become 4% more likely to vote. Here’s another one. People do not read political mail unless it looks like a real letter. Those expensive glossies are no better than toilet paper. But if you send someone a letter with all their neighbors’ voting records, you can boost turnout by 18%. It works for calls, too. The best way to boost turnout is to tell people that someone is watching and knows whether they vote or not. “I see you voted in the primary. When I call you next year, I hope to be saying thank you for voting in the general.” Also, never tell people turnout is going to be low so their vote will be more important. Tell them that turnout is going to be high but the race is close.
RPaul was the only candidate who actively visited Wash County Maine. They had it well organized and Webster cancelled it and said their vote next week “wouldn’t count”.
This will end up backfiring on the GOP in Maine. The delegates will PUNISH the obviously corrupt leaders of the GOPMaine.
My mom and I were just saying how she sang the national anthem better than anyone. My God rest her soul and prayers to her family and children (she was a good stepmom too).

As usual the press is there asking dumb ass questions in an attempt to make news instead of reporting it. The hounds are already bringing up the drug meme. Sooo fucking sad. Leave her in peace. I guess next the hounds will go after her daughter. “How do you feel”?
It’s gonna get real stupid.
It fell short for me. Once again, this is PBO’S fault?
It’s unfortunate that the White House, which was fully aware of the strong feelings on both sides of the issue, failed to reach this resolution before the outcry. That is especially true because one fallout from the episode has been ill-advised calls to provide protections to non-religious employers as well as to religious institutions. Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) have introduced legislation that would prevent the government from requiring “any individual or entity to offer, provide, or purchase health insurance coverage for a contraceptive or sterilization service . . . to which that individual or entity is opposed on the basis of religious belief or moral conviction.” That approach stretches religious accommodation beyond any reasonable bound. It would be impossible to administer. But it is part of the unfortunate whirlwind that the administration helped sow.
The administration sowed this controversy? What? That is a seriously messed up interpretation. Sorry. The GOP invented this whole thing with the help of the Catholic Bishops. They are NOT the boss of me. I choose what my health care will be, and that is the expectation of every woman.
She took Dolly Pardon song and made it hers. The last time a entertainer pass hit me like this was Michael Jackson. Kind of sad, I can’t listen to it right now.
TOD Family, I literally feel sick. This is exactly how I felt when Michael Jackson died. I grew up listening to Whitney. The Preacher’s Wife is one of my favorite movies.
I’m sick too Collegekay. She was like my first idol when I was younger. I was hurt when she had her addiction, but I’m really hurt now. And I’m really hurting for her daughter, I don’t even want to think about losing my mom, she is my best friend! I think I need to just turn off the music and news because it’s making me more sad.
Well, I came here to say something about the fabulous FLOTUS and find out about Whitney. Shocking.
Her life paralleled that of one of the greatest (in my opinion) female singers of all time who was my absolute favorite growing up. Judy Garland had great talent but made some really poor choices in lifestyle and marriages. After being down for a while, she got her act together and for a couple years was back at the top of her game. Then it all fell apart.
Love Judy Garland. One of the best singers/performers ever. I’ve never understood the demons that rode these wonderful human beings, but I hope they find in death what they never found in life: eternal peace.
I have the album (yes actual vinyl record) of her Carnegie Hall concert when she was on her rebound. She was able to do it all, ballads, belt them out songs, and she could act much better than anybody gave her creit for. A Star is Born , specially the final scene, still gets to me.
Judy Garland got hooked on drugs from her producers when she was in back to back movies. She couldn’t sleep and was drained out in the early morning calls, so they said “take one of these pills, it will help you sleep.” Then she couldn’t wake up in the morning so they said “here that one of these pills, they will help you wake up and get going for your early morning calls.” That is how Judy got addicted and so many other stars. MJ was afraid and suffering because he couldn’t go to sleep and they gave him a very inappropriate drug that had to be monitored constantly. The Doctor he hired knew nothing about the responsiblility he had taken on and didn’t even know how to resusitate. There is a problem with stars who are so well known and rich that some non-ethical doctor’s don’t say No because of all the money that is in it for them.
Whitney was staying at the Beverly Hilton for the pre party Clide always gives the night before the Grammys. I will never forget Whitney when noone had see her in months and she showed up at the preparty and sat at the front seat while Jennifer Hudson performed before she had won any awards. You can hear on the tape Whitney. saying That’s right baby, you sing it baby. She gave her heart to Jennifer that night. Whitney was a wonderful soul that lost her way starting with her husband. Whitney it’s time to rest now and put your hands in the Only One who can heal you. RIP Prayers going out to her daughter and mom.
The Rev. James W. Fifield, pastor of the elite First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, led the way in championing a new union of faith and free enterprise. “The blessings of capitalism come from God,” he wrote. “A system that provides so much for the common good and happiness must flourish under the favor of the Almighty.”
Christianity, in Mr. Fifield’s interpretation, closely resembled capitalism, as both were systems in which individuals rose or fell on their own. The welfare state, meanwhile, violated most of the Ten Commandments. It made a “false idol” of the federal government, encouraged Americans to covet their neighbors’ possessions, stole from the wealthy and, ultimately, bore false witness by promising what it could never deliver.
This reverend lives in opposite world. He takes everything Christ preached and turns it upside down to justify greed and excess wealth. I’ll be his rich parishioners love him.
He must be referring to the Corporate Bible with Corporate Jesus who blamed the poor for their condition and only healed the rich and looked to them to fund his and the disciples lifestyle of traveling around preaching to the mass marketers.
Jovie do you have proof that Whitney was strung out on drugs. Mere speculation because of her former problems. Drug use weakens the heart.
Michael Jackson was a patient who had an incompetent health care provider who should have known better, but his greed caused his brain to pulverized. Logic and reasoning skills lacking galore. Lust for money will destroy you. Lust for anything will overtake you.
Whitney and Michael Jackson were the best musicians ever; remarkable, God given talent. They are asleep and they won’t have to suffer anymore. They are done with the troubles of this world. They are at rest.
Whatever, however we die does not matter. That’s one thing we will do. Every last one of us.
It is just sad.
Celebrate her life, play her music, thank her for the joy and awe she shared. It is right and good to grieve, as well as to honor the gift she shared with all of us. Play her music, let your heart swell with hers.
So sad to hear of her passing and I am so appreciative of my TOD family to be here with you all remembering a wonderful talent that we were blessed to have in our mists. I am thankful for those that have posted Ms Houstons music that we all loved. I will never forget the AT&T commercial she made, she even makes commercials memorable.
I am also thankful for our Ms Chipsticks for creating such a very special place for us to be a community all across the world with people of kindred spirits.
Our local news just had a report and the Detectives said that Whitney was found around 4pm pst in her room at the Beverly Hilton and could not be revived.
I am so sad. She was such a voice and will be missed by her family and her fans.
Thank you Ms Chipsticks for the video of the First Lady. Her story growing up is so similar to mine where we always had vegetables with a meal and how we would watch teevee saturday mornings then go outside and play, how we would watch soul train then dance all day then go out saturday night and dance, how we would go to my aunts house and we were always in the kitchen, every holiday there was goooooood food……my uncles bar-b-que, my aunts potatoe salad, her pound cake but one thing we kids always played until dark, always running playing hide-go-seek. I wish that for kids today or in the future.
JoJo, That is what is so cool about our FLOTUS. (some RW heads explode everytime people figure out that she is ‘normal’) She didn’t grow up rich, she grew up with love. Love of family, friends, neighbors, community. She had chores, she did her homework, her family celebrated birthdays, they had family get-togethers. Never in a zillion years did she ever think they she would be First Lady of the United States. How cool is that? I would love talk to her mother. I hope that Mrs. Robinson decides to write a book. I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Sounds much like how I grew up as well. We played all day; skated and rode bikes, played volley ball, kick ball and doge ball; we had races and hide and seek. Moms cooked and take-out was only once in a while. We stayed out until it was too dark to play. There were so few over-weight kids and even they were not the size of many of the kids that I see now. As much as I hated it, we had gym class from 7 th through 12th. Parents used staying indoors as a punishment. Now, I seldom see kids playing outside. Even Christmas day, there were no kids out on their scooters, bikes, and skates. I am sad to see that so many modern children do not have these experiences.
isonprize and ceb….I would love to talk to Mrs. Robinson too, I bet she would be a blast to just talk with about her life, growing up, raising her family, how her and her husband decided on how they wanted to raise their two kids, their struggles, triumphs and pride in their children and grand children, what’s it like living in D.C. going wherever and whenever she wants ’cause no one better mess with her. I was telling a family friend that PBO talked about how she just walks out the front door. I bet she gives those reporters that no-nonsense look, “don’t mess with me, you can pull that crap on my son-in-law ’cause he has too, I don’t.”
I would not trade my childhood with kids today. We did not have the money to have all the electronics kids have today. Even people I know with one kids can’t afford the video game players and games, cell phones, the new and improved video games, hdtv’s, etc. My bother and his wife have to pay for extra science classes, music lessons, sports, that we got for free.
Remember when we had school devotion every morning. We would recite the Pledge of Allegiance and sing a song. America the Beautiful, I’ve Been Working On the Railroad and many others I still hum. Joyful times in the classroom.
Oh my, you take me back to some wonderful memories. I’m trying to calm down after the loss of our dear Whitney. Still hurting because I loved me some Whitney. But thinking about my childhood, though poor, we were relatively happy, and very very active children. And the home-cooked meals—-nothing could beat them.
Hearing about Whitney’s death was a shock even though I hadn’t thought about her in quite a while. News of her death has brought back my favourite song of hers that I used to listen to over and over and over… May she rest in peace, and may her daughter and family be consoled by the time and memories they shared together.
OT It seems that Samuel L. Jackson is another one who wants PBO to go gangsta. He has a profanity-laced interview, laced throughout with “nigger” that appears in an upcoming Ebony (he is on the cover). He thinks PBO should have stopped his speech and cursed Joe Wilson out when Wilson yelled out “liar.” The excerpt that I read from Yahoo, was one of the most stupid, distasteful, pieces of s@@@t that I have ever read. For an educated (he has a college degree), supposedly worldly man, he sounds like a fool. Why is it that some people think that evey stray thought that they have should be uttered in a public forum?
Some of these men doesn’t have any self control, like our dear President. They cannot believe that the President can able to face these racist and smearier everyday without wanted to punch them in the face. The President mother has trained him well, and thank God for that!
all the above….no one wants a hot-head who has no self-control running anything except their own lives. Sammy Jackson needs to make a “movie” of a black president doing what he wants and see if anyone pays real money to see it…I would say…no.
Samuel’s wife and Denzel’s wife just co-hosted one of the fundraisers for Michelle here in LA last week. I’ll wait to see what the entire article says before I get upset.
You have to wonder why Ebony would print such a disrespectful tirade. I am off to tweet them good and I hope others will too. PBO endures enough disrespect from the RW to have to take it from Sam Jackson. I am sickened!
So today I sat through a SIX hour opera-Gotterdammerung, the last of the Wagner’s 4-part Ring cycle. (Had seen the other three earlier in the year) It was shown at a local theater live from the Met. The opera was about love, passion, betrayal, greed, murder, and a grand suicide on a funeral pyre that also brings about the burning of Valhalla and the end of the ancient gods. It was all such a big emotional and exhausting experience that I felt I had been pulled through an old-fashioned wringer washing machine . Came here to see that Whitney Houston died. Just too much. Whitney Houston brought a lot of beauty to the world and I hope to remember that and not the stuff that dragged her down. I’ve never had any outstanding talent so I don’t know what’s it like to live with the obligations of talent and all its attendant fame and pressure. My heart goes out to her family and all who loved her and saw her struggle. She has left all of us an incredible legacy.
I’m grateful for the beautiful photos and videos of our glorious FLOTUS, certainly the most all round inspiring and downright lovable First Lady of the 13 presidents in my lifetime.
Did they at least feed you?? I love music, all kinds of music. Broadway, European classical, American classical (that’s what I call Jazz..) R&B, international, reggae. country, bluegrass… I could go on and on. But there is no way (no way!) that I could sit thru 6 hours of anything without something to eat.
Isonprize, it’s just like a movie theater with lobby concessions. The main thing you need to get through all those hours is a couple of aspirin and water.
I used to work at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London several years ago, and my very first opera was the first of the Wagner series. Nobody told me how long they were and that there wasn’t an intermission. Almost turned me against opera for all time - but I ended up absolutely loving it. Haven’t been to another Wagner, though.
What a cool, cool job. Lucky you. I think if you gave the Wagner series a try now, you’d have a new appreciation for it. The Met series is just awesome and you get kind of mesmerized by the incredible sets. Sitting through all four operas was something I wanted to accomplish in my life and now I’ve done it.
ok, I’ve crossed the line from Obot to SHAMLESS OBOT! Went to a lovely birthday party this afternoon. as I was leaving the house I realized there’d be 150 -200 folks there; dumped my cute little clutch bag and picked up my “HOPE” tote. When the party was over, I stood in the parking lot with my petitions. I turn them in tomorrow — leaving no stone unturned…
BTW, here is a nice little soundtrack for a Saturday night: http://www.staxmuseum.com/jukebox
This is good, Alycee. Always be prepared. After the petitions are turned in, carry voter registration forms with you-you never know when you can sign up a voter.
Alycee. You are NOT alone. That’s how I did my petitions too. I normally do lunch either early or late to avoid the “lunch” crowds. But I would purposely go at noon so that I could run into more people so that I could get the petition signed.
WOO HOOT Nothing like being a shameless Obama ‘bot! I love it.
Well, thankya, thankya very much!! I feel like it’s the least that I can do. I have even wondered why I am so passionate about getting this man (re)elected. I haven’t come to a conclusion. so in the meantime, I just keep doing what I’ve been doing. I’m sure you’ll do the same!!
Vatican & US Bishops - when you stop obstructing justice & become accountable for stuff like this tinyurl.com/7sj9n33 get back to us.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) February 12, 2025
Bob, the bishops and Vatican forgot the concepts of penance and atonement. They are still doubling down on their need to control women and influence American politics when they should be on their knees, praying for forgiveness. The have zero moral authority-they forfeited it all when they chose to cover up and excuse child abuse.
Stevie Wonder’s radio station KJLH is currently playing all Whitney songs and my favorite “I’m Every Woman” is playing now. It is the best song to do the Electric Slide to.
Me too GGail, my heart aches for her mom, Ms Cissy Houston and Whitney’s precious daughter, Bobbie Cristina. Her mom fought so hard to prevent this from happening, it just goes to show you that we must love and cherish each other every day. Parents should never have to bury their children no matter whether it was from them not living well or natural causes…..it so hard.
Hello everyone, I can’t sleep, just heard the news about our precious Whitney…..so sad..so sad….I am just a little numb. Sendimg prayers out to her daughter Bobbi Christina, her mom Cissy, and her aunt Dionne Warwick….Whitney will be sadly missed and always loved. I came here to see the new videos and messages about FLOTUS in Florida today before going to bed…I have to be at work by 5 am and we have snow here in my area of Ohio…be blessed everyone….and much love to all…
Many on the left have set their hair on fire over President Obama’s solution to the conflict between religious institutions, primarily the Catholic church, providing health care coverage which includes birth control to women and the teachings of the church. One would have to be in the wildest parts of Siberia to have missed this controversy, so I will not recount the drama that has unfolded.
/………………./
May I offer this extended metaphor. Again those critics on the left are painting by numbers, showing their lack of creativity, imagination, impatience, and foresight, while President Obama is the great master, bringing all of his creativity, imagination, and patience to the canvas. He has a vision for his painting, but he realizes that he is working with a wet canvas requiring layers of paint. To rush through his creation would only leave a muddy mess, not a grand work for generations to appreciate and enjoy.
So I guess the President did cave to those who wanted to launch a war against religion, but for the women of America, who never lost sight of the real goal, it is a grand victory.
At this stage, and from PBO’s past record, I frankly don’t know why anyone would be surprised when the ‘Jedi Master’ delivers. The surprise to me would be if he didn’t. Looking forward to your thesis.
Princess Potty Mouth was not in her full glory. It’s pretty tame considering how much it enrages me these FUCKSTICKS want to outlaw birth control for women specifically.
Thanks vc. Some people define “winning” as getting revenge. Some define it as getting what you want. I’m one of those who defines it as getting what I want. Therefore to me, as a woman this is a win. I don’t care one way or the other how the church feels about it or what they are forced to do, or not forced to do. All I care about is that women are going to get free contraceptive care without having to jump through a lot of hoops. Therefore we win. The President delivered. The people still whining about the outcome are more concerned about their “team” bragging rights than women’s healthcare, and I’m betting that most of them are men.
This is so sad! I really loved listening to Whitney Houston. This is so sad. I have so many emotions today. I am so upset over the stupid people at CPAC and all the lies that just keep being said and not being said they are lies by the so called journalist. I am so thankful we can come here and now the truth.
Hi Mtmarilyn. Good to see you here. I understand how you are trying to deal with the sadness of Whitney Houston and as you stated the many emotions that are with you at this moment with all of the stupid, ugly, and vile things from the opposition, but try to find a peaceful part of yourself that will give you some beautiful restful emtional haven to help you calm your nerves.
Remember your body will respond to the actions that you take in. So maybe, if you can, take a little “Me Time” and have a cup of hot tea, or whatever is comforting to you to help your emotions readh a calm and peace level, it will respond with much appreciation.
. We need your sweet and gentle but firm spirit here to help us carry the load that we know we all will be facing in these coming months. So remember, your body comes first. Yes, it is difficult because we do not know what life will throw at us as we move about within our space, but we can control how much of that space we will allow the ugly aspects of the world’s load to enter into that space.
So fill your space up now with those lovely things that will give you a restfulness to those emotions that you are now dealing with., okay?
I just took a nice long hot shower, put a lot of wonderful perfume on, and lotion by entire body down with my cocoa butter. Nice clean great cotton sheets, lovely music , a wonderful candle in bedroom and a lovely scent downstairs, and here with my TOD Family. Plus the rain is lovely outside. Be nice to yourself, okay. Sending you ((((((((((HUGS )))))))))))))HZ
On Whitney - and every extraordinarily gifted artist we’ve lost like this - it makes me so ANGRY.
I know what it’s like to be creative, and to deal with that aspect, and it accompanying demons. However, I don’t know what it’s like to be ridiculously famous and rich. And I certainly have zero clue what it’s like to have to deal with all of that together. It hurts my head to even think about.
Still. When you’re given gifts of that magnitude, I feel part of the deal is that you take care of it, and nurture it. Like our HZ always says - there’s a purpose. It might be really important. It’s your responsibility. Much is expected from those whom much is given.
I’ve lost friends this way. One was an actor I worked with. He was only 39. Died of a heart attack. The human body can only take so much abuse, as resilient as it is.
Looking forward to reading your masterpiece on our Jedi President. I want to say thank you for schooling folks on how insurance works and how PBO punked the media, pundits and the bishops.
HAAA! I love you JoJo!!!!
I’m not sure how Masterpiece-ish it is - I’m deep in The Red Tent with it’s accompanying first-48 hour meds so it might be a big piece of sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
I love you too……talking about chocolate, I was in Wholefoods and bought some organic chocolates they were soooooooooo good. I hope that organic means non-fattening.
What a rollercoaster of a week. The ugliness of CPAC and the hysteria of “Contraception-gate” The high from seeing our illustrious President proudly & loudly affirm his support for women’s health. The pride of seeing our First Lady engage the young and the young at heart in exercise and healthy eating across the country. I took my 10 year old godson to see Red Tails this afternoon and we come out of the movie inspired by the heroism of the Tuskegee airmen. Then he watches me go into a complete bawling fest in the car as I hear that Whitney is gone. Sigh.. Tommorrow is never promised. It’s nice to be able to come to TOD and find some solace. Thanks Ms. Chips, as always..
Here’s one of my favorites of Whitney’s (I believe in you and me from the Preacher’s Wife) RIP girl. Thank you for the music.
My absolute favourite! I do believe in miracles and love is a miracle. The screen shots which played with the music are embedded in memory and are always a reminder of the importance of helping our fellow human in a selfless way. I hope we remember her music and not the other negative stuff which affected her but not what she gave to us in life.
May Whitney Rest in Perfect Peace. She’s just a year older than I am and I remember so vividly when her first release came out in 1985 whilst in I was in college. I felt like she was my sister from a long distance. Our generation is losing so many bright stars, it hurts, first Luther, MJ, now Whitney. What a loss.
My god!!!!
I cannot believe it. I grew up with her music. My condolences to Bobbi and Cissie her mom. May she rest in peace. She was haunted by demons that none of us could understand except for her and MJ.
I know Clive Davis must be heart broken too….he loved her like a daughter and I know he was like a surrogate father for her as well. This is so unreal that a talent as huge as Ms Houston is gone. When we lose people who have been a part of our lives, although we did not know them personally, they were a part of our collective family as any blood relative.
All I have to say is: “Will you marry me?” OMG — what an awesome first lady! Em, Mr. Prez, you’d better hold on tight ’cause the
line of prospective marriage proposals is stretched eons behind the FLOTUS!
It was this week, Thursday or Friday on a show like Inside Edition. One that comes on after the news. Did anyone else see it? The cameras were on Whitney as she was leaving somewhere, I didn’t get a name or they didn’t state where it was but Whitney had scatches and blood on her legs. The camera zoomed in on the blood. She looked unemotionally straight into the camera. That was it. Noone knew what happened.
May you find the peace you have searched for so long, Whitney and may God look over you family, esp your daughter and mother. RIP
For some reason, this video is the one that makes me tear up. It’s so personal to her struggles, and yet she looked so hopeful and vulnerable. I hope she rests in peace. And I hope her child has trusted people comforting her tonight.
Hi Tally, I cannot wait to read your words of knowledge that I know will keep us uplifted and inspired concerning our Chessmaster President. Every time he speaks, he allows us to peak behind the Washington scene and see how immature and juvenile these so called elected officials are being paid high salaries and special perks to do………severely nothing.
Thank you in advance for sharing your insurance experience with us. I look forward to good read.
On my dear Whitney Houston. May the peace of God rest upon her family and friends. I know that she is free now than she will ever be. I just viewed a recent video of last week and she sang on stage, Yes, Jesus Loves Me. Such a simple song. That is the first song that we are taught in Sunday School. It makes my heart glad to know that all of the high notes and beautiful songs that she sang for us. She still had enough left in her to know that she was, is and still loved.
We dare not judge, but remember and be thankful for the gift that she shared with us through her songs.
R.I.P. dear song bird. What a gifted, talented singer. Thank you.
One of my favorite people at work, this really nice attorney who is young and smart but not into politics so much (and would be considered Independent if he was political) said when he heard him sing he said to himself, “damn, that’s reelection right there. Not even the whole line, just the first “I….”.
After listening to Whitney sing,”I Love the Lord,” six times and crying all the while, because this was the song that was performed at my mother’s funeral, emotions calmed and somehow, I flipped accidently to our President singing Al Green. I realized that it was not an accident. It was meant to be for this moment. I feel now that I have replenished the well for a while in this case.
I will rest with my thoughts for Ms. Houston’s family as well as for my personal emotional ‘draft ‘pouring in the cool breezes into my soul. But it will all be restful, I feel. Peace will quiet the soul. Good night Chips and TOD Family.HZ
Good Night HZ, Chips, and TOD Family, I am listening to music that reminds me of all the good times with many of my family members that I miss so much…my auntie, uncles, and grand parents.
VH1 is killing it tonight with Whitney videos one after the other. Man, I forget how many hit songs she had back in the 80′s and 90′s. This woman had so much more to offer the World, but……………..
My comment for the day: Thank God for YouTube! Where else could you have a Whitney Houston marathon on a day like today? After reading on Facebook about Whitney Houston’s death, I felt the need to see her performances and hear her voice. After spending most of the past 7 hours mesmerized by her otherworldly voice, I cannot say that I feel better. What a sad day. We (at least in my household) have been trying to figure out why Whitney’s death affected us so much. Conclusion: she was the soundtrack for our young adult through middle-age years and her voice part of our every day existence. We were rooting for her comeback… not just her career, but her life. God rest her soul and God comfort Bobbi Kristina and Mom Cissy. The following is one of my favorite Whitney performances: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYFHAvULvJ0&NR=1&feature=endscreen
When MJ died I could not listen to his music, and I find myself feeling the same way with Whitney. I’ve tried listening but it is just to sad to realize that someone I grew up listening too, was a fan of her music, she is gone. There will come a time when I will start back listening to Whitney, but not now. Rest in Peace Whitney. God be with her family.
Anniebella, you just find and respect your feelings at this time. Remember it is your space that are enter into when you need to approach whatever comes your way. Rest in your space, and then when your can allow the music of Ms. Houston to enter again into that precious space, you will be ready.
Do what you need to do to take you to a place that will be a comfort to you and a blessing to others. We all who love beautiful music and the greatest instrument of all , the voice, we must enjoy that beautiful God given instrument when your are ready to hear its sermon in your life.
Be calm and enjoy your space now. Whitney Houston would not want you to enter a beautiful space of her great music unless you were ready to do so. So enjoy the moment when you know it is right for you. Be peaceful and restful for your respect of a great voice indeed.
God forgives, and he mends broken hearts as well. Whitney is peaceful now as well. But we have her beautiful voice and music to enjoy until we too leave this beautiful space that we take care to live each day. Be peaceful today.HZ
President Obama’s 2013 budget will be released publicly on Monday at 11:15 a.m., but senior administration officials gave a preview of what the president will ask for.
Here’s a guide to what the White House wants spending and taxes to look like in the next fiscal year.
Sue, same here. Pain is a drain, but God remains the same with peace and provisions for me. Now, you take some time to enjoy and rest and do your worship right where you are. Lift up your beautiful spirit in voice with thanksgiving. I know you have your beautiful touch of reaching out to your beautiful souls in your church, so let His beautiful spirit ministry to you today in a way that only comes with that spiritual connection of His goodness within our spirits.
Have a beautiful day , Sue. Many beautiful things surround you today. ((((((((Hugs to you))))))))HZ
ATHENS (Reuters) - Greek lawmakers looked set to endorse a new and deeply unpopular austerity deal on Sunday to secure a multi-billion-euro bailout and avert what Prime Minister Lucas Papademos warned would be “economic chaos.”
After days of dire warnings and threats of rebellion, parliament began debating the bill setting out 3.3 billion euros ($4.35 billion) in wage, pension and job cuts as the price of a 130-billion-euro rescue package from the European Union and International Monetary Fund - Greece’s second since 2010.
Greece needs the funds before March 20 to meet debt repayments of 14.5 billion euros.

Thankie! You were pretty quick yourself…
Ha! Hip hip Hurray!
hola~
That’s what I’m talking about! First for my FIRST LADY!!!
FLOTUS was great this morning, and the crowd loved her. The entire program was enjoyable.
It was so funny.
what a moving and inspiring speech! i know it’s kind of long, but do take the time to listen. she hits all the right notes, says all the needed things, and demonstrates exceedingly well, to anyone who might doubt her personal power and intention, that she is in this to get the job done. she says, in closing, that she looks forward to working with us for ‘years to come’. yep, years, and that means another four after this one.

And they say we’re the ones with enthusiasm problems.
stolen.
Linda,
I think you have the Maine Caucus numbers transposed!
Sorry, Linda. I wrote my comment before reading your “oops” comment noting your error about the Maine numbers. Please disregard.
He said all the guests were “gettin’ it it” when it came to dancing!!
gettin’ it in
I wish I had half of the energy that the First Lady has. She has inspired me to start working out.

A must read from Smartpants….with that wonderful clip of Rev. Lawry’s prayer at the Inauguration of President Barack Obama
AP reporting Whitney Houston has died at age 48. Very sad
I just saw that…….How awful….I hope she did not die from drugs…..what a struggle she was having…..sad….sad…..sad…
She was found dead at her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton hotel in L.A She was to be honot at
the Grammys was it drugs it’s not clear.but it very sad such a magnificent singer.
oh no, thats horrible news, I’m stunned by this.
Say it ain’t so. First MJ, now Whitney. I have to check this out.
are you serious?
gotta go search on teh Google.
Whaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!?!?!?!
I have been out all day, and this is the first time I’ve had to really sit down and log in, and this is the first thread I opened, smiling at our First Lady, and I see this.
OMG — I just saw some photos of Whitney from a few days ago and she didn’t look well. CRAZY!
Stunning.
These entertainers just seem to be dying at young ages it seems.
Damn, this is too sad. I really can’t believe. I really admired Whitney when I was younger. I remember walking to the record shop and getting my Bodyguard tape. Damn!! RIP Whitney
I am absolutely stunned by this news…
What a tragedy. Such a shame, that beautiful, beautiful voice lost to us, as it has been for a long time. I was always hoping she could find the strength to recover from her demons and make a comeback. I know many people were trying to help and pulling for her. Very sad.
Oh, no. Oh, no.
I still can’t believe it.
Whitney Houston dies. Just 48. What a waste.

So sad!
oh dear. that is too bad.
May she rest in peace. This is very sad.
Very very sad.
I am so proud of our FLOTUS

There’s more where this came from ….
Labor’s division over the bill funding the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has helped clear the way for President Obama to sign it.
Unions are split in their opposition to the measure, with some fearing its provision on union election rules endangers organizing.
http://thehill.com/blogs/transportation-report/aviation/210103-labor-unions-left-sour-with-faa-bill-now-in-obamas-hands
OMG Whitney is gone. RIP
Very sad
just saw it on he web. May she rest in Peace. She made some beautiful music.
My mom and I were just saying how she sang the national anthem better than anyone. My God rest her soul and prayers to her family and children (she was a good stepmom too).
#PRESSON
#PRESSON
Off topic….Whitney Houston died at 48 today according to Don Lemon on CNN.
I just heard about Whitney. So sad.
I am really sad about Whitney.
When she was at her best she was the BEST
Such a great talent and beauty.
Agree she really was very beautiful as well as talented.
Such a sad tale. She had it all. She had the best voice of anyone ever—-and—bad decisions, utter tragedy.
NO ONE DOES IT BETTER! RIP Ms. Houston RIP.
Beautiful and talented…what a sad day.
Goosebumps. She sang that song.
I still don’t want to believe her version of the anthem was lip-synched.
She tore this up - in a good way, that is.
this is just heartbreaking about Whitney.
She is a legend. No youngin can touch her voice. I pray for her daughter, family and friends.
Conflicting reports on Whitney Houston. I’m waiting for more info.
Turn to cnn and msnbc. her publicist confirmed
Wow, I am so saddened by Whitney’s death. Was se filmkng the mlvie “Spark” or had she finished?
Movie is “Sparkle”. She’s playing the mother of the 3 sisters in the group. What a sad day. I am just stunned.
OOps pardon my mispelled words.
I’m kind of tired of this made up controversy. It need to be put to rest.
Dam tired of it.
I’ve moved on. What’s going on with the payroll tax cut?
i supposethat folks indeed expect our President to walk on water….
he found a way to work it out…to achieve his ultimate goal…..that is what is important to me….
The administration sowed this controversy? What? That is a seriously messed up interpretation. Sorry. The GOP invented this whole thing with the help of the Catholic Bishops. They are NOT the boss of me. I choose what my health care will be, and that is the expectation of every woman.
I’m in shock!!
France 24 is reporting her death. One of my favorite of her songs:
Wanted to share this …
…. just tragic.
She took Dolly Pardon song and made it hers. The last time a entertainer pass hit me like this was Michael Jackson. Kind of sad, I can’t listen to it right now.
agreed….I am stunned.
TOD Family, I literally feel sick. This is exactly how I felt when Michael Jackson died. I grew up listening to Whitney. The Preacher’s Wife is one of my favorite movies.
I need to lay down.
So true.
Love Judy Garland. One of the best singers/performers ever. I’ve never understood the demons that rode these wonderful human beings, but I hope they find in death what they never found in life: eternal peace.
Thank you for this, Lisa. Loved Judy, loved Whitney.
You can hear on the tape Whitney. saying That’s right baby, you sing it baby. She gave her heart to Jennifer that night.
I’ve heard stories that Whitney was always doing things like that, and was almost always enthusiastically supportive of other people.
RIP.

The Rev.
You know, he reminds me of those preachers during slavery, that said being a slave shows love and devotion for God.
No matter what; you’ll never see a loaded Armored truck in a funeral procession.
He must be referring to the Corporate Bible with Corporate Jesus who blamed the poor for their condition and only healed the rich and looked to them to fund his and the disciples lifestyle of traveling around preaching to the mass marketers.
This man got it all twisted.
Whitney Houston just died! She was so strung out on drugs, like MJ was.
This is my concern with Demi Moore, as well.
Sad!
MJ had a prescription drug addiction, but that’s not what kill MJ. What kill MJ was a money hungry sorry ass doctor.
My heart felt sympathy goes to Whitney’s family.
Thank you AnnieBella! Folks need to know what they are talking about before they talk.
Lets wait until the autopsy report be for we say the poor woman was strung out.
How do you know that she was strung out?
Whitney Houston, the iconic American singer whose battles with drugs, alcohol and ex-husband Bobby Brown marred her star power, has died. She was 48.
Houston’s publicist confirmed the singer’s death to ABC News. The cause of death is not yet known.
http://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=15565260
She was brilliant, but was in Pain about something. I think it was her ex, Mr Brown!
She will be sorely missed…
Also, I loved that movie Bodyguard!
Thank you for that comment yardarm756. Let us be factually responsible and respectful of this family.HZ
What, did theydo the autopsy already?
I just logged on a few minutes ago to read this incredibly sad news. I feel sickened. She was to perform tonight at a Grammy’s party. Ray J found her.
Yeah, I’m a little late as well. May she rest in peace.
Rest in Peace Ms. Houston. My prayers to Cissy, Dionne and Bobbi Cristina.
Only woman who sang the hell out of the Star Spangled Banner.
I tried listening to her singing the Star Spangled Banner, I just couldn’t.
Celebrate her life, play her music, thank her for the joy and awe she shared. It is right and good to grieve, as well as to honor the gift she shared with all of us. Play her music, let your heart swell with hers.
Pamela, that is what I am doing tonight. “Let your heart swell with hers.” So beautifully stated. Thank you.HZ

When MJ died I cried, Whitney Houston am SPEECHLESS. RIP
I’m still in shock after an hour, SAD!
It saddens me to hear about the death of Whitney Houston; she looked just like she sounded, beautiful. .
So sad to hear about the passing of Whitney Houston. In my opinion, the greatest natural singing voice ever. May she rest in peace.
Sigh — Whitney was way too young to go. Same age as the First Lady. May she rest in peace.
Well this is my favorite of hers.
This is one of my favorites as well; I love both Mariah and Whitney and was so glad when they came out with this collaboration.
I see I’ve missed quite a bit today.
I’m amazed everyday at what an awesome first lady we have in the white house. She is remarkable.
Obama/Biden2012
Our local news just had a report and the Detectives said that Whitney was found around 4pm pst in her room at the Beverly Hilton and could not be revived.
I am so sad. She was such a voice and will be missed by her family and her fans.
Whitney may God rest your troubled soul now.
Apparently Brandy’s brother Ray-J (they were dating) found her body.
Correction: Her bodyguard named Ray apparently found her. (There was some confusion w/ the names.)
RIP MICHAEL and WHITNEY.
Thanks for the memories, Mae who love our CIC. I remember those “joyful times in the classroom.”HZ
The police Lt has said that he doesn’t know who found her. That she had a large entourage with her, but they have not named who found her.
And he said that the ONLY reason he voted for PBO was because he was black….not his policies. I took it to be a little snarky…not necessarily true.
Perfect example of “just because someone is famous, doesn’t mean they have anything to say that is worth listening to.”
Samuel L. needs to sit down somewhere and shut up.
I thank GOD Samuel L. Jackson is not PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!
Samuel hasn’t been able to separate movies from real life. Maybe he’s done one too many, and needs to be in real life to know what facts are.
That’s exactly why he ain’t and never will be the President. He’s better off as a pimp.
Do Samuel L. Jackson have a movie coming out? Something he need to sell or promote. He needs alittle attention. I won’t buy that Ebony with him on it.
Some of these men doesn’t have any self control, like our dear President. They cannot believe that the President can able to face these racist and smearier everyday without wanted to punch them in the face. The President mother has trained him well, and thank God for that!
ugh.
What a dumbass.
all the above….no one wants a hot-head who has no self-control running anything except their own lives. Sammy Jackson needs to make a “movie” of a black president doing what he wants and see if anyone pays real money to see it…I would say…no.
THE “N” WORDS OFFEND….VERY MUCH……
Samuel’s wife and Denzel’s wife just co-hosted one of the fundraisers for Michelle here in LA last week. I’ll wait to see what the entire article says before I get upset.
You have to wonder why Ebony would print such a disrespectful tirade. I am off to tweet them good and I hope others will too. PBO endures enough disrespect from the RW to have to take it from Sam Jackson. I am sickened!
Chips, will you remove this. The comment at the top DID NOT APPEAR when I downloaded the song. Thank you.
Ooops! Never mind. I thought “Ceb’s” comment was part of my video.
Her last performance this past Thursday

Wow..I’m just blown away with the news of Whitney, my heart goes out to her daughter and mother.
Man, I was just listening to some of her songs on my ipod yesterday.
Her voice was undoubtedly one of the best.
Jackie G,
Did they at least feed you??
May Whitney Houston rest in peace and her family be comforted. HZ
Wow..I’m just blown away with the news of Whitney, my heart goes out to her daughter and mother.
Man, I was just listening to some of her songs on my ipod yesterday.
Her voice was undoubtedly one of the best.
ok, I’ve crossed the line from Obot to SHAMLESS OBOT!
Oh, don’t worry — had those too!
Alycee, did you pick the tunes in the Stax Jukebox? If so, how did you do it? That is cool.
I should have known nothing would get by you.
Good for you, Alycee, fine work you are doing!
I love it.
Ison — I’ve been reading you for weeks; you’re volunteer work is awe inspiring!
One of my favorites by Ms. Houston
Beautiful. The Grammys are being modified to honor her tomorrow.

Bob, the bishops and Vatican forgot the concepts of penance and atonement. They are still doubling down on their need to control women and influence American politics when they should be on their knees, praying for forgiveness. The have zero moral authority-they forfeited it all when they chose to cover up and excuse child abuse.
Give your prayers out to Cissy Houston and Bobbi Cristina tonight.
What a tremendous loss. Whitney Houston gone much too soon. I feel so badly for a dear daughter and the rest of her family. May she rest in peace.
Stevie Wonder’s radio station KJLH is currently playing all Whitney songs and my favorite “I’m Every Woman” is playing now. It is the best song to do the Electric Slide to.
My heart is aching.
GGail. I didn’t know that Stevie had a radio station!! How cool is that??!!?? What city is in it?
Los Angeles
isonprize, it’s here in Los Angeles. You can listen online. KJLH 102.3
Huzzah President Obama!

I just sent Chips a GIANT thesis on the subject of Jedi Master President Obama and the epic punking he gave the GOPChurches yesterday…….
Let’s see if she posts it.
Did you use appropriate ‘church’ language, Tally?
At this stage, and from PBO’s past record, I frankly don’t know why anyone would be surprised when the ‘Jedi Master’ delivers. The surprise to me would be if he didn’t. Looking forward to your thesis.
Princess Potty Mouth was not in her full glory. It’s pretty tame considering how much it enrages me these FUCKSTICKS want to outlaw birth control for women specifically.
It’s mostly about the general stupidity of the media and everyone regarding how insurance works, and how thinly veiled the GOP is.
RIP Whitney Houston. May all who loved you find Comfort & Peace
Oh, HZ, you always say the right thing. You are comforter in Chief!!!
Here is my fav Whitney concert — Live in South Africa
I can only hope she was happy.
Sad but true, Tally. We all have just this one life to do the best we can with what God gave us.
Hi Tally,
Looking forward to reading your masterpiece on our Jedi President. I want to say thank you for schooling folks on how insurance works and how PBO punked the media, pundits and the bishops.
HAAA! I love you JoJo!!!!
I’m not sure how Masterpiece-ish it is - I’m deep in The Red Tent with it’s accompanying first-48 hour meds so it might be a big piece of sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
now someone pass me some dark chocolate, STAT.
I love you too……talking about chocolate, I was in Wholefoods and bought some organic chocolates they were soooooooooo good. I hope that organic means non-fattening.
yes…. of COURSE it does……..
She could also serve as an example of what not to do. I have a feeling there’s gonna be more to this story.
G’nite all. It’s been one helluv a day.
So sad about Whitney. The best singing voice and the most beautiful woman I ever saw IMHO. She will be greatly misses. RIP whitney.
50% increase in highway funding in the Presidents budget!

Good Night, TODville! May tomorrow be more ……
What a rollercoaster of a week.
She was haunted by demons that none of us could understand except for her and MJ.
live at 2004 world music awards ‘I will always love you’
I been avoiding it all night lunar. Now you caused the water works to operate.
RIP
i look to you 2009
I wish she knew how much she was loved while she was still alive.
RIP Whitney

Thank you.
Just watched PBO singing Al Green maybe 5 rtimes. The cure for everything.
Yes it is!
Miss your website so much and hope you start it up again eventually!
Heard you got in an accident… I really hope you’re okay and recover as soon as possible.
Best Wishes
R.I.P Whitney Houston.
Have anyone heard anything about Daddy Warbucks? I have a feeling for sure that he may have retired after all…
BWD, just five? How about 10……..and counting. It’s hard to fall asleep and I have to be up very early. I hope you get some rest.
VH1 is killing it tonight with Whitney videos one after the other. Man, I forget how many hit songs she had back in the 80′s and 90′s. This woman had so much more to offer the World, but……………..
good night tod ohana. prayers and candles for whitney, and all our lost dear ones.
THIS IS SO UNFORTUNATE AND SORROWFUL..MAY SHE REST IN THE PEACE SHE NEVER HAD. I WILL PRAY FOR HER FAMILY.
I’ll try this once more and hope it works:
