I didn’t mean to. Honest. I had actually given up on ever being first again, what with carolemaewy on the line always! Then, waiting on a Skype call, thought I’d better check up on all o’ y’all, and buzz!
The seaflavour festival was postponed to early March, the rain was just relentless, and the park was being hammered with high winds and the storms kept hitting, so she and the park service agreed it would be better to wait a month.
Fingers crossed indeed! Postponing was better than cancelling, or risk being washed away! The good news is there are now several more high profile chefs and exhibitors who will be available in March, so still looking really good!
AMK, after you dissed my 49ers, the only red wine you deserve from CA is the cheap Gallo burgundy! So we lost, but no one can say that my 49ers did not fight fight valiantly to the end! I don’t want to sound like a sore looser, but the failure to call interference by the refs. probably caused us to lose the game.
Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens for winning the Super Bowl! I am still very proud of my 49’ers! They never quit until the end.
Except, of course, the bills for the United States of America are paid for (or not, as the case may be) by the GOP House. So, he’s right on this count.
One reason he’s is pissed is because DC citizens did want to hand the grifter a tax break to set up a business in the nation’s capital. For someone who always thinks others are takers, he doesn’t realize that he’s a bigger taker than the ones he’s talking about. I don’t blame the citizens of DC for refusing to give his ass a tax break. Bet he didn’t think about THAT while he was so busy asking PBO for his BC and college transcripts. Oops!! You mean to tell me he didn’t know who heavily influences DC politics? Let him prove that “he built that” business all by himself! I just love when big mouths like Trump are forced to put their money where their mouths are.
Maine Guv To Schoolchildren: ‘Newspapers Are My Greatest Fear’ In The State
Maine Gov. Paul LePage (R) on Friday warned students at an elementary school that newspapers represent a menace to the state, the Bangor Daily News reported.
“My greatest fear in the state of Maine: newspapers,” LePage told students at St. John Catholic School in Winslow, Maine. “I’m not a fan of newspapers.”
The Daily News noted that it’s the third time that LePage has publicly spoken ill of newspapers, and the second time he’s done so in a school.
LePage, who was not endorsed by any major Maine daily newspaper during his run for governor, has frequently made headlines for some of his remarks. Previously, LePage twice publicly warned audiences that Maine’s newspapers are full of lies — first at a fisherman’s forum in Rockport and again to schoolchildren a year later in Waterville.
I don’t blame him at all. The damage done by the media is astounding. The misinformation, they insult our intelligence, they spread hate and propaganda. Newspapers aren’t as bad as the televised media on the whole, but some are very dangerous. He’s right to be afraid, and I have no doubt that they’ll be going after him for these comments.
While the number of divergent points of view have decreased due to consolidation, I believe that newspapers are still a valuable source of information; especially for local news. I believe that the greatest threat to our society is the lack of critical thinking; that seems to be a skill no longer taught at school nor at home.
I agree - critical thinking skills would help a lot of people to question and critique what they read and hear, rather than just blindly accepting it. I do agree that there are some great papers out there, and some really rotten ones - like the Murdoch papers.
so i’m still thinking the best super bowl ad i’ve ever seen, when considering the societal context it was made in, is the eminen ad for chrysler. one of the best ever.
The ravens are fighting for their lives at the moment. (Although, I’ve pulled a lot of hair out of my head with all the missed opportunities in the last few minutes…)
Yeah - Congress could learn a lot from the words in that ad. Everyone else is just working hard, doing their jobs, aspiring to be the best they can be. Congress, on the other hand…
I must admit I’d heard that before on YouTube, but it was put up by FFA a few years ago. I cried my eyes out because its so true. Farm went from Grandpa to Dad, to my brother to my nephew. In same last name for four generations. Dad was the best though.;)
Oh, I love the Grandpa connection. Loved and was really close to my maternal grandfather growing up, but he passed away when I was 10. I still miss the man!
I never had the pleasure of meeting him. He died when my Dad was two. He had lots lf older brothers and sisters. He was the one who wanted the farm. :)
Okay TOD family. I have been at work since 5 this morning. I got home about 45 minutes ago. As usual I read all the threads and then thank all of you for your great humor and insight. I am off to bed. So tired I can;t even type,
I admit: it hurts to lose! But, I am also glad that we lost to Baltimore, MD, a City that is, undoubtedly, one the most Democratic cities in the U.S. Congratulations to my niece and grand niece, in MD, both of whom are unabashed Ravens’ supporters.
Congratulations Ravens! You should be thankful the referees were on your side. We 49er fans understand that life is not always fair. One thing is for sure, your win was not a cakewalk!
Wow 49ers really closed the gap and gave us an exciting game in the ‘after the blackout’ period. Unfortunately there can only be 1 number one. Congrats to the Ravens and kudos to the 49ers.
Well alrighty then. It’s a wrap. Til this time next year XLVIII.
Note: Fox will be the broadcasting network for next year’s super bowl game. PBO has always granted the pre-game interview to the broadcasting network. They’ll be using the entire upcoming year preparing their best gotcha questions.
Me?
PAMELAAAA!!! -shakes fist—
I didn’t mean to. Honest. I had actually given up on ever being first again, what with carolemaewy on the line always! Then, waiting on a Skype call, thought I’d better check up on all o’ y’all, and buzz!
Don’t apologize, girlie, just revel in it.(smile)
Oh, okay then!
;) ;) Good stuff! Did you actually get around to speaking to D after this victory?
Waiting now, she is finishing up a project, then we’ll chat a while. (Were you proud of me, VC?, or just surprised! Total fluke….)
The seaflavour festival was postponed to early March, the rain was just relentless, and the park was being hammered with high winds and the storms kept hitting, so she and the park service agreed it would be better to wait a month.
That rain never comes at the right time down here - but March is usually good - fingers crossed
Fingers crossed indeed! Postponing was better than cancelling, or risk being washed away! The good news is there are now several more high profile chefs and exhibitors who will be available in March, so still looking really good!
Both! And you shouldn’t admit to flukery (no such word), call it strategic planning.
riiighht…hmm…hmmm :)
Congrats!!!!
TY. TY.
Congrats Pamela!
TY, cmwy, it’s only because you were AWOL!
Yes, watching football. :)
Hey, congrats Pamela!

Woah, Niners!!!!
I thought we were cheering for Man U?
Always, Carol! I’m just tolerating the lesser-football tonight. /runs
Oh, ok. I’ll follow you were ever. ;)
I’d rather be at the WH Super Bowl, that would be epic!
I was mocking nathkatun7 on the previous thread - looks like I might have to eat my words. :(
oh, noez. He’s gonna send me some calif red.
Come ON, ravens.
Gallons of it, be prepared:
That’s some very nice wine you got there, Chips. I know because I used to be able to afford to drink it. And I did.
AMK, after you dissed my 49ers, the only red wine you deserve from CA is the cheap Gallo burgundy! So we lost, but no one can say that my 49ers did not fight fight valiantly to the end! Hay Donald Trump, “F” you. Forget or the other word. Whatever you want to use.
This dolt thinks about Obama 24/7. I don’t think Obama has thought about him since the WHCD in April 2011.
Except, of course, the bills for the United States of America are paid for (or not, as the case may be) by the GOP House. So, he’s right on this count.
One reason he’s is pissed is because DC citizens did want to hand the grifter a tax break to set up a business in the nation’s capital. ***did NOT*** want to
And how would he know?
Apparently Oreo wanted to do a special SB ad just for LL
oh dear :)
Are the lights on?
YES, 49ers!!!
Also too - no air con in the commentary box - it was hot
LOL/
That was quick - and clever!
Yup.
I enjoyed a chocolate shake after my chile! :)
That was the best all night!
Brilliant!
The score Ravens 28- San Fran 23, it has become a game.
What time is President Obama suppose to be in Minnesota tomorrow?
11:00 AM: PBO arrives in Minneapolis
11:30 AM: Participates in a discussion with local leaders and law enforcement officials.
12:30 PM: Delivers remarks on a comprehensive set of commonsense ideas to reduce gun violence.
WOW - thanks Chips! Did not see your post earlier. :)
You are highly welcome!
Not sure, and I can’t find that info anywhere. Hopefully some more details will be available by early tomorrow.
Lord, help the school children in Maine…

Paranoia!

LOL.
so i’m still thinking the best super bowl ad i’ve ever seen, when considering the societal context it was made in, is the eminen ad for chrysler. one of the best ever.
Yes, it was a very good add. But I love those four legged horses. Miss the frogs, the lizards. Where was the Mayors against guns at half-time?
ok, bbc coverage is definitely slanted towards 49’ers. Any reason ?
They’re the 49ers. Next question?
well, the ravens don’t seem to think so.
I totally agree. That “God made the farmer” commercial was wonderful.
Next year (for my son and wesley): “God made the trucker!” They keep our country moving.
Proud to be Farmers daughter. Corn silk hair, Rollin in the hey, not the deep!
You should be proud!
Evan drove a tractor and a pick-up. It was the farm homesteaded by Grandpa.
I must admit I’d heard that before on YouTube, but it was put up by FFA a few years ago. I cried my eyes out because its so true. Farm went from Grandpa to Dad, to my brother to my nephew. In same last name for four generations. Dad was the best though. ;)

Congratulations, Ravens!
Meow…meow…meow…meow….meow
Is the game over?
Go ravens. phew, no calif reds from nath.
We are still sending you Gallo Burgundy!
sore loser ….
Just remember, Baltimore can’t even send you Gallo wine. The best you can expect from Baltimore is some crabs.
:) yup, definitely a sore loser.
I admit: it hurts to lose! But, I am also glad that we lost to Baltimore, MD, a City that is, undoubtedly, one the most Democratic cities in the U.S. Congratulations to my niece and grand niece, in MD, both of whom are unabashed Ravens’ supporters.
Congratulations Ravens people!

BALTIMORE RAVENS #1!!! SUPER BOWL CHAMPS BALTIMORE IS ON FIRE.
Well Congratulation to the Ravens. It turn out to be a good game.
Wow 49ers really closed the gap and gave us an exciting game in the ‘after the blackout’ period. Unfortunately there can only be 1 number one. Congrats to the Ravens and kudos to the 49ers.
Well said LunarSea! Glad somebody recognized the exceptional effort of my beloved 49ers!
Well alrighty then. It’s a wrap. Til this time next year XLVIII.
