It is a very touching photo, Chips, because we know he has the capacity to grasp the vast suffering that Vad Yashem memorializes.

As he stands there one can only wonder if he is also reflecting on the fact that in less than 60 years, more Americans have died from gun shot wounds, in non-combat situations throughout America, than ALL Americans killed in ALL American wars - an unfathomable tragedy in a Nation that aspires to ensure the unalienable rights of Life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness to every American.

Please forgive re-posting this plea the previous thread …

“Dear Chips & TODers – Ron Conway is a force, no question about it. Would likely save way more lives if as many of you as possible could impress on him that he and his rich pals could actually make a lot more $$$ if they de-geeked on the tech and simply demanded legislation that required mandatory liability insurance on an gun manufacturer (GUNS EXIST TO KILL), seller or ANY person who uses a gun. They can invest in the insurance underwriters, and reap an ROI from an entirely new revenue stream that such legislation would enable in those underwriters who offered coverage.

Let’s see if we can catalyze these folk having substantive discussions about what really matters – holding EVERYONE who makes, sells or uses a gun & ammo, LIABLE.”

Until we establish a social fabric that holds everyone in the gun & ammo supply and user chain responsible we will not even begin to stem the slaughter. If we could do it with restrictions on tobacco use, we certainly can prevail when the reality is that guns and ammo exist for one reason - to KILL (and, target practice, btw, is about refining the ability to KILL, apart from whatever recreational ‘fun’ and ‘status’ it may impart to the shooter).

    Yes We Can

From where they live, it’s freeway close and it has a lot of places to sit; i.e., beds, sofa’s, chairs, and a place to get a bite to eat.

One never has to worry about Pres. Obama on the international stage. His grasp of the issues, his diplomacy, and the manner in which he conducts himself to fit every situation is a delight to behold. It’s nice having a leader named Barack Obama.

You are absolutely right, UT! And for those who were worried about his safety, I think he is much safer abroad than he is in the U.S. There so many vicious, and well armed, people in this country who passionately hate him. Thank God for the SS, which is vigilant in protecting him and his family.

I wanted to say that nath - but didn’t want anyone upset. Few countries have gun availability like in the US. I really wonder why they have to take the monster of a car around the world - I don’t know of any political leader that seems to need protection as does PBO.

Thanks for sharing this tweet by TCC. It should be re-twitted over and over again! I would even add on St. Ronnie’s over 200 marines in Lebanon; and the over 400 people killed in the PanAm bombing under Bush Sr.

      • 59 Nena20409
        March 23, 2025 at 11:32 pm

I have always though that the Lockerbee Pan Am bombing took place during Reagan’s time. Granted, GH Bush was his VP and it happened in Dec 1988, GW Bush had already won in Nov 1988. Reagan ordered a bombing that supposedly killed Qaddafi’s younger daughter. In 2011, the real story was that she didn’t die.

259 died because of the bomb. 11 died on the ground.

        • 60 nathkatun7
          March 24, 2025 at 12:21 am

Your memory, both about the dates and the number of people killed in the PanAm bombing, is much better than mine. Thank you so much for correcting me that the bombing took place under St. Ronnie and not under Poppy Bush. Still, why didn’t McCain demand an investigation about what President Reagan and Vice-President George H.W. Bush knew about the terrorist bombings that killed over two hundred marines in Lebanon; or the bombing of the PanAm airplane that resulted in the death of 270 people.

          • 61 99ts
            March 24, 2025 at 12:35 am

nath - you’re talking sane - many give McCain a pass because of Vietnam - but sane and logic are certainly not his strong points - for whatever reason. As for Reagan/Bush - I’m sure the GOP are happy to give that one to BushSr - no way will anything be attributed to Saint Ronnie.

My knowledge of US history is limited - was Reagan the only president from California - seems to weird that they would have a GOP President when they are such a democratic state.

            • 62 nathkatun7
              March 24, 2025 at 1:11 am

“was Reagan the only president from California….”

No, 99ts. Richard Nixon was also from California and he won the state twice. California has not always been a predominantly Democratic State. If I am not mistaken, I think George H.W. Bush, in 1988, won California. We have also had a number of Republican governors, the last one being Arnold the “Terminator.” Beginning with Ronald Reagan until to-day California elected four Republican governors and only two Democratic governors. The second Democratic governor, Gray Davis, was re-called in his second term. Gov. Jerry Brown is, of course, unique. He is now basically serving a third term.

This president has a lean and thin physique. So for this photograph to capture that is truly incredible.

His temperament, soul, firm, kind, smarts and sense of self grounds him for this job.

Comments on Youtube say it’s not a full released song — just a jingle written for the commercial (Little by Little) - most likely created by ad agency called Nylon Studios, who also did this one…

There must also be the same kind pressure applied on the TBGOPer senators. The reason the right get away with murder….. euphemistically speaking is that they are always skipped when accountability is assigned.

That is why these TBGOPers continue to vote like Zombies taking marching orders.
