Yet another TOD post that has been reblogged by Jueseppi B, despite requests that he make his own effort to support PBO rather than copying others simply to drive up his reblog’s traffic. He doesn’t take kindly to being challenged, as another woman found out: explicit. Genuine bloggers are welcome to use anything they ever see at TOD. Thanks
Congrats 4morefor44 for being #1! Thanks Chips for this beautiful thread showing how much children enjoy being in the presence of what the U.S. illustrious media consider to be the most “aloof,” “arrogant” and “elitist” President.

That’s what Karl Rove taught them! Rove’s entire MO is to attack the strength and positive aspects of his opponents. Case in point: the way his operatives savaged a war hero, John Kerry!
When in doubt watch the children. They inherently know evil. Remember when the poor babies were crying when Romney was near? They also know good - and they are ALL OVER the President.
What a wonderful antidote to all the shameful RWNJ bitterness and manipulation of the last week. This is what grounds us in reality, brings us back to what matters - the natural free-flow of kindness and appreciation. What a man.
So true, meta. This will always keep us in a proper and wonderful attitude of the beautiful gift that we have the honor of elected twice, supporting every step of the way on this journey, and giving the proper and total respect to our President.
“the natural free-flow of kindness and appreciation. What a man.” (((((((((((((( So beautifully stated.)))))))))))))))HZ
Hello, my precious jacquelineoboomer. How are you? I am moving with a grateful spirit, pain and all. However, I had to beg for permission to get online tonight. I just give my loving brother that operatic tone in my voice, and he melts everytime to his sister’s wishes. My singing voice reminds us of our beautiful and precious Mother who passed a few years ago.
I am so happy to be here with family, and he loves that fact that I have this beautiful haven to come to because he knows how much I love my President. In fact, my loving brother had a very special Christmas Card made just for me with a beautiful message from our President. I will cherish it for the rest of my living life and pass it on to my oldest great-niece.
I hope GoBrooklyn is doing better. Also my Fred, Donna, and Joan.
So good to see Lisa checking in. I am so elated about Lisa’s studies, and I pray for the very best in all of Lisa’s studies.
It’s YOUR spirit that keeps us all going, HZ. What a lovely way you have with words. And the President is lucky to have you as his supporter. Thank you - just for being you.
Good Evening, Meta. Hope all is well with you. I also hope that the northern weather is lovely. Have a blessed Sunday and enjoy each moment in your space. ((((((( Lovingly,)))))))HZ
FWIW: If anyone actually wins one of these, my advice would be to create a trust and let the trust be the bearer of the ticket. That way if anything happens to you the trust continues to get the payout. Otherwise the money stops if/when you die.
LOL you think I jest. We handled a case like this once in a firm I worked in. Person died shortly after winning and family fought to keep the money as heirs but it’s forbidden in the rules. But nothing forbids a trust from winning, which lives on for the benefit of the beneficiaries, etc.
Thanks Chips! it just fills my heart so see such love the kids have for the President and he has for them. You can’t stage that kind of connection. I really need it today. Very bad week. thanks again.
Nawaz Sharif’s victory in Pakistan’s general elections is being seen with some alarm in Afghanistan, where some fear it may mean more instability.
The fact that the Pakistani Taliban held off attacking Mr Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League (N), and the comments he made during the election campaign, reinforced the perception in Afghanistan that Nawaz Sharif is a “representative of the Pakistani establishment” which Afghans blame for most of their troubles.
Nawaz Sharif has suggested that Pakistan should end its support for the international alliance against terrorism and says he would talk to Pakistani militant groups.
Many Afghans fear he will make peace with the Pakistani Taliban, who will then stop carrying out attacks in Pakistan and focus solely on Afghanistan.
///
The roots of these concerns lie in the past.
Mr Sharif was very close to Pakistan’s former military ruler General Zia-ul-Haq, who was behind organising Afghan resistance to Soviet occupation in the 1980s. Both Gen Zia and Mr Sharif had close links with all seven Afghan mujahideen factions based in Pakistan.
This policy resulted in the fall of the Soviet-backed regime in Kabul in 1992.
As prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif was instrumental in forming the mujahideen government in Peshawar, before sending it over the border to take power in Kabul.
Mr Sharif went to Kabul just a day after the mujahideen victory on 28 April 1992, the first and only foreign leader to visit.
Many in Afghanistan blame him for dismantling the Afghan security forces and fulfilling the mission of bringing Afghanistan into “Pakistan’s sphere of influence”.
Thank heavens that President Obama is the President. I know it doesn’t solve everything, but it’s reassuring that he’s got his eye on this one. I’m nervous about what this election will mean for the region, and I’m perplexed why people make the same mistakes over and over and over again.
Awwwwww!!! the pics are just too sweet. I started trying to pick my favorites, but had to give up. They are all just so darn cute. Cuddling just comes so natural to him. Babies always know when they feel safe and secure. Toddlers will interact and play with folks who interest them. Older kids are in awe of folks who impress them. Yep, that about sums it up. PBO is the 1st Dad to America’s children.
I’ve never seen kids respond to a President (or any politician) quite like this one. There’s something special there, and these kids do not have agendas.
You are so spot-on hope fruit! Children have such amazing instincts. They are especially good at telling the difference between adults who are comfortable with them and the adults who are uncomfortable with them.
arghhh so pissed I missed all but the last 1/2 hour of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on HBO. I never saw anything on Twitter about it so I missed the first 3 hours.
Oh I love all these photos. They bring tears to my eyes. I think my fave is still the first one. The little boy in that photo is just precious he’s so solemn :-)
Why are people still listening to lying Romney? Even when he speaks the truth, it’s irrelevant. He’s told too many lies, and done too much damage. He’s a pariah, like his hero: Cheney.
Aaawww! THIS night owl post is for MOI but I will gladly share!:lol: {{{Chips Chica}}} Thank you much, my lady fair! You are a jewel……on occasion So many of these kiddie pics actually make me laugh out loud in sheer joy and ‘mucho’ appreciation. ONE such is the little lady with the apple in her hand and the up-cast eyes (like ‘Did you get permission to write on my art?’) Another is little Miss Flirty. …. and then the babies. I absolutely, absolutely love the way they and the Pres converse!
Chips - These photos make me want to both cry and also be one of those little kids!
And they brought to mind the photo of the little girl and boy in the back row where the boy was grabbin’ a kiss. Cutest ehvah.
Thanks so much for lightening our moods after that yucky week of RWNJ lies … although I must say President Obama came out on top, as usual, so it was (almost) worth it!
Thank you, Aquagranny, for your comment. I was about to react the same way you did. Mr. Blow never explained how the Justice Department “over reached.” I suppose he had to put this part in his column in order to remain in the good graces of his fellow mainstream media pundits.
Chips, thank you so much for this lovely ending to the week. I so much appreciate eveything that is provided here. Looking at PBO with the children brought to mind Whitney Houston ‘s “Greatest Love Of All” I don’t know how to post a video, so posted the lyrics. I hope it doesn’t take up too much space. Thank you.
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody’s searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone’s shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I’ll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can’t take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be
And if, by chance, that special place
That you’ve been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
While it is well-known that the so-called IRS scandal has been used by Tea Partiers to bash the IRS, less well known are the actual facts of the case.
Some of the flagged groups did have their tax-exempt status delayed or did face some additional scrutiny, but not a single group has been denied tax-exempt status.
A May 14 draft report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found that none of the 296 questionable applicants had been denied, “For the 296 potential political cases we reviewed, as of December 17, 2012, 108 applications had been approved, 28 were withdrawn by the applicant, none had been denied, and 160 cases were open from 206 to 1,138 calendar days (some crossing two election cycles).” (p. 14)
In fact, the only known 501(c)(4) applicant to recently have its status denied happens to be a progressive group: the Maine chapter of Emerge America, which trains Democratic women to run for office. Although the group did no electoral work, and didn’t participate in independent expenditure campaign activity either, its partisan nature disqualified it from being categorized as working for the “common good.”
The Inspector General’s report found that in the “majority of cases, we agreed that the applications submitted included indications of significant political campaign intervention.” (p. 10). In fact, only 91 of the 296, roughly 31%, of the applications reviewed for the report did not have “indications of significant political campaign intervention.” In other words, more than two thirds of those flagged for processing by a team of specialists had those indications.
thanks chips for the wonderful baby pix. i keep saying, oh this is my favorite, oh i love this one the best, ohohoh! they’re all extraordinary documents of a presidency like none before. this is pbo’s true constituency-the future generations who will benefit from his hard work.
I don’t really care what this tweet says (although it’s great) … I just love the look on the face of the man in the photo! I just pinched myself and - yep - he is still OUR PRESIDENT!
#RememberWhenBarackObama inherited the most broken US economy in 80 years and, piece by piece, repaired it pic.twitter.com/YfJzEVAXb9
My lifelong Republican brother who voted for PBO twice called me tonight to talk about the stock and housing markets and how great the economy is doing. Hilarious.
Kudos to your brother, meta! You know, meta, there are still some honest (not many) Republicans, but their voices drowned out by the tea baggers and the unethical Republican politicians who are terrified by the tea baggers.
I’m calling it a night….I love my President. I sleep like a baby every night, knowing that he’s in charge. See you tomorrow…the big dog is staring at me….Great Danes know how to tell time, did you know that? :)
I was all busy looking for a favorite video I found years ago on YouTube but have lost … an all-girl acapella group at a college doing Kiss Him Goodbye. But I digress. I found this! It’s so reminiscent of how some early Rock ‘n’ Roll groups got started … on the street corners of Philadelphia, for instance, ending up on American Bandstand. Anyway, I think this is great (and I love how some of the passersby get caught up in it).
Hey, Jacqueline, do hope you find that acappela YouTube … but while your searching this particular recording that someone loaded to YouTube is worth bookmarking :)
And I feel as though we’ve all been blessed, seeing our President with the little children. (Mrs. Obama, as well! My visiting then-9-year-old granddaughter told me last summer that she “loves Mrs. Obama, and sees her everywhere” - like Nickelodeon!)
This is a good idea, which I just spotted. Follow @ABC and reply to everything they tweet with “Who can believe you now?” until they fire Jonathan Karl!

Thanks Amk for sharing Kate’s tweet. She has vindicated my repeated reference to Darrell Issa’s criminal background that the MSM would rather hide from the public. As far as I am concerned, Darrell Issa is a crook!
I love all of those, but I think the last is one of my favourite. :)
Also: I think we are totally slaves to our genetic coding here. As in: spotting guy that is not only intelligent + handsome + great character but also awesome around kids -> instincts sort in male as perfect mate :P
… I should mention if I post anything weird, excuse me, I´m on painkillers right now.
With each picture my smile gets bigger and bigger. I love seeing how children respond to President Obama. They instinctively know that he is good and he is genuine. I see happiness, awe, adoration, and respect in the faces of the children. They seem to know that they are standing before a great man.
The little girl in the second picture seems completely content being in the arms of the President. I’ve always wished I could see a lead-in and a follow-up for the picture for the little girl standing under the Lincoln portrait who is hiding her face. She seems to have been overwhelmed after meeting the President.
It’s hard to say that any of these pictures are my favorite because each one gives me a positive feeling and uplifts my spirits. The pictures with the children goes beyond Barack Obama the President, the Commander in Chief, the politician, the public servant, the educator and any other label. These pictures give us a glimpse into the heart of Barack Obama the man.
You know, I was just thinking that these kids are just so much more genuine in their response than the media. When I went to the US with a group of student around Easter, I had a conversation with one of the boys in my group. It was during the last days of our visit and we talked about some basic politics on a tour through the MN State Capitol. He mentioned that he had seen a few very mean cartoons, cruel jokes, news etc. about PBO and he didn´t understand it. Now, whereas I do not and should not push them into any political direction (even though thing are a little more easy going as long as it´s foreign politics of course), I told him that this was something one saw rather often and that I thought it to be pretty outrageous. This 15 year old German boy could not wrap his mind around why adults and the media would resort to such cheap tactics of being derogative and insulting. I hear you kid, I hear you….
Children have no agenda other than the desire to be loved and to know that they will be taken care of. They sense that the President will do them no harm.
Negative feelings such as hate, selfishness, prejudice, racism are taught and even then it is not a lesson that children will learn overnight. I believe it would take some extreme indoctrination to see a young child exhibit such negative emotions. Imagine the confusion of a child living in a “strict, religious” household who on one hand is being told that the Bible teaches us to love thy neighbor, but on the other hand is being taught animosity toward certain groups of people.
Religion and tolerance should not exclude one another. I am no particularly religious person even though i was raised a Catholic (not in the strict sense though), but I have high respect towards those that manage to take the essense of religion and adapt it reasonably to today´world. I work at a protestant private school which is different to something you´d find in America if the school is Christian. We´re more liberal there. However, my school offers 15 mins prayer services prepared by students once a week and we recently had one where homosexuality was openly discussed. The result: discrimination is not what God intends. It doesn´t matter what you look like or who you love. Now that´s an attitude that I can full heartedly embrace. I´d prefer if all religion was like that instead of the some that stick to outdated misinterpretations of scripture.
“Religion and tolerance should not exclude one another.” I agree. I think that LOVE is a basic concept for most religions and with love should come tolerance. However, those who use scripture to justify their intolerance are only using religion to camouflage their true heart.
Obviously, the world today is so different from the times from which the scriptures written. However the basic precepts — love, do good not evil, respect, treat others as you would treat yourself — are timeless and can be adapted to this constantly evolving world.

The Tea Party organizations did not do themselves any favors by filing complaints regarding the IRS’ handling of their applications for tax exempt status. It provided the opportunity for the guidelines that are being used to grant an organization tax exempt status and to highlight the inconsistency of these guidelines to the statute.
The outcome could very well be that many organizations that are enjoying this exempt status could lose it. “Exclusive” leaves no room for interpretation. No subjectivity can be applied. In fact, it would aid in the consistency of the IRS review in granting or rescinding tax exempt status for an organization.
The only thing is that the IRS must be careful in establishing the criteria and procedure they use for this review so as not to give any perception of bias or partisanship. I believe this was the real issue in this IRS “scandal”.
Republican administrations use “bias & partisanship” as a valid reason for review. it is only the democratic folks who see anything wrong with being partisan. There is no democracy associated with the current republican party.
I still do not understand why anyone in the IRS apologized - and reading further into when the issue was first mentioned - the woman who did this deliberately wanted the opportunity to do so. There were many ways an honest IRS staffer could have approached the issues & it seems to me that she took a route that would most harm the IRS and the Obama administration.
What is reality — bias & partisanship – is so different from what should be. We have a President who strives towards the “what should be”. His anger about this issue seems more about the perception of bias. We all know that he has much experience in dealing with the fallout from people’s perception being their reality.
I also believe that the IRS staffer who made this issue public did so deliberately and used words – e.g. targeted — that insured a resulting scandal. But again, I maintain that instead of the scandal and negative impact to the President that was hoped for by the GOPTP, an opportunity was created for a review of the IRS guidelines that were inconsistent with the statute; a review that was long past due.
I so agree about the opportunity for review - a byproduct that those who invented and expanded the “scandal” were not expecting. Although democrats seem to be so critical sometimes about “lack of kick back” from their own - the past week has provided major positives for the President and his administration - without any need to be seen attacking the GOP. When the media/GOP outcry turns to umbrellas - the propaganda war is lost.
I think I remember that she was a Make-A-Wish child, or some other similar organization, and this was something of a surprise and she was overwhelmed. She’s one of my favorites.
“Although democrats seem to be so critical sometimes about “lack of kick back” from their own – the past week has provided major positives for the President and his administration – without any need to be seen attacking the GOP. When the media/GOP outcry turns to umbrellas – the propaganda war is lost.” Exactly this! Instead of us attacking them, they reveal THEMSELVES for what they really are.

I’ve spoken with military people as to what they thought about “umbrella-gate”. The response has basically been, “If the Commander in Chief tells you to hold and umbrella, you hold an umbrella.” To them, trying to make it into a scandal is outrageous.
I don’t see this as a good thing for those entities that set themselves up to be tax exempt. Now the I.R.S. can really go after those that try to get around the system.

I telling you, I got tears in my eyes looking at these. Seriously. Thank you :)
Make no mistake, children know! ;-)
yes they do Yardarm….yes they do…and sooooo do we!
They sure do, yardarm! Children act on their feelings because they haven’t yet been socially conditioned to repress them.
Love, love. love this! He is so good with children; they can tell when someone is truly good!

lol. no words.
OMG he is soooo aloof isn’t he? (How do they get away even suggesting that? Seriously.)

Are there any children in American he hasn’t hugged, cuddled, kissed, waved at or hand shook? What a blessing he is.
///

I toldja he is one bad egg.
“PBO is the 1st Dad to America’s children.” So true
I’ve never seen kids respond to a President (or any politician) quite like this one. There’s something special there, and these kids do not have agendas.
You are so spot-on hope fruit! Children have such amazing instincts. They are especially good at telling the difference between adults who are comfortable with them and the adults who are uncomfortable with them.
arghhh so pissed I missed all but the last 1/2 hour of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on HBO. I never saw anything on Twitter about it so I missed the first 3 hours.
Looks like it is on a continuous loop on HBOSig for the next 24 hours…
Oh I love all these photos. They bring tears to my eyes. I think my fave is still the first one. The little boy in that photo is just precious he’s so solemn :-)
A Saudi woman has made history by reaching the summit of the world’s highest mountain.
Raha Moharrak, 25, not only became the first Saudi woman to attempt the climb but also the youngest Arab to make it to the top of Everest.
She is part of a four-person expedition that also includes the first Qatari man and the first Palestinian man attempting to reach the summit.
They are trying to raise $1m (£660,000) for education projects in Nepal.

Excellent!
This is too cool!!! Congratulations to all of them & I so hope they reach their fund raising goal as well. Great share, Amk for Obama!
That’s wonderful! I have deep respect for climbers. And reaching the summit of Mt. Everest has to be a tremendous achievement.
I love these, POTUS & kids.. I cry everytime I see them.
Romney: Benghazi talking points had no bearing on presidential election
Jordy Yager - 05/18/13 01:24 PM ET
The administration’s talking points have been a key focus of Republican criticism over the handling of the attack.…
Why are people still listening to lying Romney? Even when he speaks the truth, it’s irrelevant. He’s told too many lies, and done too much damage. He’s a pariah, like his hero: Cheney.
Aaawww! THIS night owl post is for MOI but I will gladly share!  {{{Chips Chica}}} Thank you much, my lady fair!
Taps, now taps.
Good taps tune. Haven’t heard this in eons. Thanks Cap’n and good night
Love Love that last photo…makes me smile every time I see it
A little acapella
A too cute baby commercial!!!
ROFLMAO gotta send this to everyone I know. Too freaking funny
This is too cute and funny!
There’s a video showing the making of this video - it’s freaky how they make some of these shots happen. Very cool.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/18/opinion/blow-resonance-resistant.html?hp&_r=0 Charles Blow has some points to make:)
Thank you! This is a must read!
I totally disagree that the Justice Department “over reached” with AP. Totally disagree with that! Otherwise it was a good article.
Thank you, Aquagranny, for your comment. I was about to react the same way you did. Mr. Blow never explained how the Justice Department “over reached.” I suppose he had to put this part in his column in order to remain in the good graces of his fellow mainstream media pundits.
Hello everyone,
Chips, thank you so much for this lovely ending to the week. I so much appreciate eveything that is provided here. Looking at PBO with the children brought to mind Whitney Houston ‘s “Greatest Love Of All” I don’t know how to post a video, so posted the lyrics. I hope it doesn’t take up too much space. Thank you.
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody’s searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone’s shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I’ll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can’t take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children’s laughter remind us how we used to be
And if, by chance, that special place
That you’ve been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
Simply Awesome Awesome Pics……The Children know….yes they do….brings such joy tp my heart…..

http://www.irehr.org/issue-areas/tea-party-nationalism/tea-party-news-and-analysis/item/482-tea-party-irs-scandal

Joy Reid dissects the Benghazi email scam in a pretty interesting way. She speculates who she thinks the culprit may be:

Tom Coburn.
The same Tom Coburn who has pretended to be the President’s “friend” since their days together in the Senate?
Yes, THAT Tom Coburn. Wouldn’t you like to be a fly on the wall……!!!!
Yeah, Coburn doesn’t act like a friend. And as a doctor, one would think he’d have a bit of a conscience about the positions he takes.
I think his “conscience,” if he ever had one, kinda went bye bye.
Yup. If the President called me his friend, I’d do everything I could to deserve that title.
Me, too. Forevah! (What an honor it must be to have President Obama think of one as his friend. Wow. Gives me goosebumps just imagining that.)
Me, too! :)
Job, I think POTUS does think of you as his friend. He knows you’re part of OFA before election. ;)
thanks chips for the wonderful baby pix. i keep saying, oh this is my favorite, oh i love this one the best, ohohoh! they’re all extraordinary documents of a presidency like none before. this is pbo’s true constituency-the future generations who will benefit from his hard work.
Well said! And apparently the little ones know it.
I don’t really care what this tweet says (although it’s great) … I just love the look on the face of the man in the photo! I just pinched myself and - yep - he is still OUR PRESIDENT!
My lifelong Republican brother who voted for PBO twice called me tonight to talk about the stock and housing markets and how great the economy is doing. Hilarious.
I bet you had a good laugh over that! Good for your brother! (And PBO, of course.)
For a second I thought you meant Bill Clinton.
Perhaps ….
:)
That is AMAZING! Love it! They are sooooooo much better than the original singers.
The name of our President, Barack,, means blessing. And the children know it.
And I feel as though we’ve all been blessed, seeing our President with the little children. (Mrs. Obama, as well! My visiting then-9-year-old granddaughter told me last summer that she “loves Mrs. Obama, and sees her everywhere” - like Nickelodeon!)
Perfect, Bill. Simply, Perfect.
And, Yes They Do.
This is a good idea, which I just spotted. Follow @ABC and reply to everything they tweet with “Who can believe you now?” until they fire Jonathan Karl!
The plutocrats and their GOP & NEWSTAINER slaves are making it ever easier for us to focus on concrete actions that cost little (or actually generate revenue) and have enormous societal value:

Yes We Can
Thanks Amk for sharing Kate’s tweet. She has vindicated my repeated reference to Darrell Issa’s criminal background that the MSM would rather hide from the public. As far as I am concerned, Darrell Issa is a crook!
The last picture is one of my favorite. Thank you Chips…Love it!

“Motorcading” ain’t easy.
How can anyone look at these pictures and NOT love this President? Children know.
It has been pouring rain here in Atlanta for a couple hours…….
Thank you - just love seeing the military saluting their CIC - which makes the RWNJs umbrellas just more and more entertaining.

Good Morning
Joy Ann Reid’s article about Tom Coburn is very interesting…….
Just as a side note……Coburn was at the ” How to Sabotage the first Black President ” meeting on 1-20-2009.
New post.
