I’m glad to hear about another ad coming out touting the benefits of Obamacare, because I have seen to often a negative ad on MSNBC were Rand Paul and Mike Lee are attacking Obamacare. So the Administration have to fight fire with fire, truth with their lies.
I think that soon, insurance companies competing for customers will put out their ads too. It will be fun to watch republicans trying to counter THAT too.
My sissy’s (sister’s) bday is today and my son in law’s is tomorrow, if you want to celebrate those too. :) (a party is a party!) And ONE of your love interests, ONE of your prospective grooms, mr. dotster, celebrates on the 26th. Everyone was born in August! Those first cool November nights must have made everyone’s thoughts turn to LOVE, L-U-V!
COS, I won’t be around. :-( I’m going to a wedding. I’m trying to think of an excuse, but I don’t think you’re BDay will cut it. I’ll send your wishes with tnmtngirl.
Good morning , COS! Phew! You missed being a Leo - lucky you! They have been strutting around here with their egos hanging out for weeks now, so it’ll be a welcome change when you modestly step up to celebrate your day. According to my research “You belong to a group of people known for their perfectionism and highly analytical minds.”
Good morning all. On the last thread HZ talked about raising the minimum wage, which is a national disgrace. She said there’s a decent bill that might pass the Senate, but we will have to fight to get Boehner to bring it to the floor. Each day I wonder why we have to fight for common decency in our House of Representatives. Yes, we have to pressure our Congress people if raising the minimum wage passes the Senate, but most of all we have to win those 18 House seats (and keep the Senate) to restore some measure of sanity to Congress. There have been looney periods in history when the US House has been out of synch with the American people, but this Congress isn’t even on the same planet as most Americans and is one of the most radical and downright anti American I have ever seen. To win, we have to vote, but we also have to recruit decent candidates. In our majority red district, Democratic candidates are reluctant to step forward because they are likely to be defeated and they tend to give up in advance. We can’t win if we don’t run, but it’s tough to ask people to give up months of their lives and go into debt when the situation seems hopeless. This is a big challenge and needs as much attention as voter suppression in some areas. When Republican reps feel invulnerable they get more and more radical.
I agree with you. It does not seem fair that the House can hold the American people hostage just for their own political beliefs that don’t help their own constituents.
I did hear someone on CNN say this, Why haven’t we heard from the President?, Concerning what is going on in Egypt. Bad things are always happening in the world, is the President suppose to stop doing everything. Hay bad things are happening in the world, can POTUS take FLOTUS to dinner? Hay bad things are happening in the world, can POTUS go get ice cream with his daughters. Just alot of B.S. from the media and the right wingnuts haters.
This obsession with the President is not healthy. Secretary of State Kerry has spoken in the name of the whole administration. Is there any doubt that he and the President have talked before Kerry issued his statement ? Geezzzz… And is there any doubt that the President has been on the phone with Susan Rice, and multiple people from his national security team ?
Egypt has probably ruined the President’s vacation, making him work more than what he had planned to… But no, they’re obsessing over the few hours the President takes just to clear his head…
I agree Lovepolitics. It’s a very unhealthy obsession, especially when we know he has an extensive and very competent cabinet and team of workers.
And it’s not just his vacation they obsess about - the media needs to drag him in EVERYTHING. I read on an earlier thread that someone on HLN was ranting that he should weigh in on some missing girls and liken them to his daughters in the same way that he likened Trayvon Martin to his hypothetical son. The two incidents are totally unrelated and dissimilar, so why was the woman angrily insisting that PBO weighed in on this? (shakes my head).
I think it may be the president going on vacation for 1 week thing that’s the problem. That makes bad things happen. And because he’s on vacation he’s not available for parachuting into trouble spots around the world to, you know, smooth things over.
Even when he’s not on vacation, there seems to be a need for him to step in and “make a statement” on just about every issue out there, or give someone a personal call, etc.,
“Thank You. Given that anybody who doesn’t agree with us exactly is obviously a lowlife scum of the earth traitor that hates America what are your plans to broaden the GOP tent. And if you do have a plan to broaden the tent why shouldn’t we consider you a lowlife scum of the earth traitor that hates America?”
Good Morning TOD. I’m home with a nasty summer cold today. Oh well, I’ll just have to make the most of it. I get to play on TOD today when I’m able to keep my eyes open. :)
{{DD4O}} Heading over with some lemons and stevia, or maple syrup, (whichever you prefer) to make you some throat soothing, chest soothing tea. Take care of yourself and when you are ready to play just ‘come on down’. We won’t play rough today.
/saintly rolling of eyes/ Far be it for moi to encourage alcohol drinking! Authentic lemon juice mixed with warm or hot stevia/honey/maple syrup sweetened water always works wonders for me. I suppose your prescription might work as well, especially if the patient isn’t planning to leave home. ;)
Morning! I’ve been reading about Republican hypocricy this morning…and lots of it!
First, we have THIS GOOBER, from OK willing to take food out of people’s mouths because they “look fit”, while HE pockets stimulus money for his own company that doesn’t NEED stimulus money!
Then, we have the Arizona senators that voted AGAINST SANDY RELIEF, screaming about FEMA not helping the Yarnell fire victims families…when they loved sequestration and slashed the budget across the board.
In light of sequestration and budget tightening, FEMA has limited funding and cannot respond to every single flood, fire, and other issue that hits. Last week, the agency announced that it would not declare Yarnell, Arizona, a federal disaster area. A spokesman explained that while the agency had assisted firefighters during the deadly June blaze, “the damage to uninsured private residences from this event was not beyond the response and recovery capabilities of the state/local governments, and voluntary agencies.?

‘..the ad, the third from Organizing for Action’
Okay, Jovie, you are a fast researcher, what is ad #2? I remember the doctor replying to ‘Julie’ ad and now this one, but can’t think of another.

Good morning , COS! Phew! You missed being a Leo - lucky you! Have a great Thursday!

Love the fist bump!
Good Morning, TOD-village!
Morning Chips! I see you are feeling rejuvenated. This is indeed early…. for you. ;)
Mooooooorning fellow early bird!!!!
TY, CC! It’s a good morning too. Got my car back yesterday and there was no financial damage.
Excellent VC!! So you are our designated driver from this day forth?
NP. I actually don’t mind driving. It’s the stopping and sight seeing that aggravates. ;)
I could be wrong, but I have a feeling Snowden will be saying the same thing Manning said.
He might alright Anniebella, especially if he wants to come ‘home’ …. although, I’m not sure what that guy regards as home any more. Russia?
Things fall apart of GG. Good morning Chips.
Mooooooorning Africa, poor old GG, Manning’s apology has ruined his life. Aw.
LOL!! Can’t tell him nothing, though. The narcissist in him won’t allow it. :) :)
Have a wonderful day, Chips and TODers. Off to work. But will come back later tonight to get my fill.
Good day everyone!!
Have a wonderful day, Africa!
Did you know that something bad is happening somewhere and Obama’s PLAYING GOLF!!!?????
And if he stopped playing golf on his one week vacation, Dotster, all the trouble in Egypt would automatically end. That’s what I read any way.
I did hear someone on CNN say this, Why haven’t we heard from the President?, Concerning what is going on in Egypt. Bad things are always happening in the world, is the President suppose to stop doing everything. Hay bad things are happening in the world, can POTUS take FLOTUS to dinner? Good Morning Chips and everybody!
Good morning JER!
But but but he’s playing golf…
Exactly Hopefruit, if he wasn’t playing golf they’d be the best figures in seven years. Impeeeeeeeach!
LOL!! That was on point.
Yes a question from Mr Limbaugh:
And that will be one of the milder questions.
Good Morning TOD. I’m home with a nasty summer cold today. Oh well, I’ll just have to make the most of it. I get to play on TOD today when I’m able to keep my eyes open. :)
Ugh, Donna, you poor thing! Wrap up cozy and play away!
Feel better GF!
Hope you feel better soon donna. Plenty of rest, fluids, (and TOD :) )!!
{{DD4O}} Heading over with some lemons and stevia, or maple syrup, (whichever you prefer) to make you some throat soothing, chest soothing tea. Take care of yourself and when you are ready to play just ‘come on down’. We won’t play rough today.
Jack Daniels and warm honey would be better. :-D
Good morning all, anyway!
/saintly rolling of eyes/ Far be it for moi to encourage alcohol drinking! Authentic lemon juice mixed with warm or hot stevia/honey/maple syrup sweetened water always works wonders for me. I suppose your prescription might work as well, especially if the patient isn’t planning to leave home. ;)
That’s the idea. One must be relaxed and comfortable when at home. Ya think? ;-)
;)
Get well soon, donna dem!
