I figure their strategy is say it loud enough over and over and brainless non thinking people will believe it. Unfortunately from poll results we seem to have a large percentage of people that fit that category.

*harsh.. Which leads me to a kitty cat story: I spent the morning doing laundry, cleaning house, getting everything shiny and bright for the holiday week (so I won’t have to do much!) then set about making lunch. Kitty disappeared from her favorite snoozing spot, was in the bathroom for a v.e.r.y long time. So I check out what’s happening with her - find her lying peacefully, I thought, on the throw rug. I said, “Oh, you are just SO CUTE, snapped a couple pics, and then got “THE LOOK”. UhOh, how can they call you MightyPamela when you neglected to refill the kitty’s bathroom water bowl? Hhmmpphhh, hop to it Human! So of course, I did just that (never mind I had changed the KITCHEN water Twice?! Maybe that doesn’t count… Dear Little Blighters! But we love ’em, eh??

    http://www.mediaite.com/tv/meet-the-press-reportedly-in-jeopardy-as-nbc-looks-to-cut-back-dc-bureau/

As we head into 2014, the fate of the longest-running news program on television is starting to look uncertain. According to a new report from the New York Post’s Claire Atkinson, NBC News chief Deborah Turness is looking to make some major cutbacks at the network’s Washington D.C. bureau, where Meet The Press is produced.

Atkinson quotes one unnamed executive as saying, “Instead of getting better, NBC News has been getting worse [since Turness arrived earlier this year.] It’s a mess.” In October, the reporter cited rumors about Morning Joe’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski adding Meet The Press hosting duties to their already full 15 hours a week on MSNBC.

Meet The Press, which used to be the perennial first place finisher on Sunday mornings over ABC’s This Week and CBS’ Face The Nation, fell to a 21-year low over the summer and has been coming in third place behind those two show for much of 2013.

    //////

Mourning Joke averages 300K plus in Total. MTP is 2-3M. So Please MBC, go ahead and add JoeScar and Mika and kill this 60 yrs pioneer Sunday show for sure.

      December 21, 2025 at 3:18 pm

Cannot stomach MTP with David Gregory … but I really detest Morning Joke and crew.

This will not affect my Sunday morning TV watching on NBC or early Mon-Fri on MSNBC, because I don’t, but this is even more dumb news out of their new “news chief.” Getting worse by the minute!

Is there no fresh news person to bring into the D.C. arena who has earned a good reputation somewhere else in the country? Some smart San Francisco reporter, I’m thinking! At this point, they’re just recycling the old tired voices.

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/pope-francis-to-vatican-bureaucrats-no-more-gossip-squabbling

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis warned Vatican administrators Saturday that their work can take a downward spiral into mediocrity, gossip and bureaucratic squabbling if they forget that theirs is a professional vocation of service to the church.

Francis made the comments in his Christmas address to the Vatican Curia, the bureaucracy that forms the central government of the 1.2-billion strong Catholic Church. The speech was eagerly anticipated given that Francis was elected in March on a mandate to overhaul the antiquated and oftentimes dysfunctional Vatican administration.

When women and AA were denied their rights to vote they fought hard and long.

But what I never understood is why in this nation Voting and how to vote a Constitutionally guaranteed rights are micromanaged by individual states and counties. That makes No sense at all. Freedom of speech or the right of the press are not subjected to state rights. Neither is our citizenship.

There aught to be statewide referendums across US to mandate an unmitigated oscillating loudly to guarantee the rights of every 18 yrs old citizen the right to Vote. Every Citizen has a Social Security. At 18 yrs old, every citizen aught to have a Voting card with SS number. This stops the voter suppression at it’s wicked core.

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/mayor-disputes-christie-s-claim-that-officials-weren-t-notified-of-bridge-traffic

Christie suggested at a press conference Thursday that local authorities never notified the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s executive director, Patrick Foye, of the supposed traffic study that closed down lanes on the bridge and paralyzed traffic in Fort Lee.

“Did the Fort Lee officials — law enforcement, political — lose his number? Could they not get it and find him somehow? How did this happen exactly?” Christie asked, as quoted by the Bergen Record.

But Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich challenged that claim Friday and said borough officials called “at least five or six” people at the Port Authority.

“Fort Lee incessantly called,” Sokolich said, as quoted by the Bergen Record. “We called the contacts that we always called whenever there was an event. We did not depart from protocol that had been established for 20 years. … We called everybody that we were supposed to call.”

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/study-finds-voting-restrictions-linked-to-minority-turnout

    Yeah, ya think?!

Two University of Massachusetts Boston academics — Keith G. Bentele, an assistant professor of Sociology, and Erin O’Brien, an associate professor of Political Science — recently published a paper looking at the proposal and passage of restrictive voter access legislation from 2006 to 2011. In the paper, titled “Jim Crow 2.0? Why States Consider and Adopt Restrictive Voter Access Policies,” the authors conclude that restrictive voter measures are connected to both partisan and racial factors.

“We looked at proposed and passage over this period, and we looked at just 2011 specifically,” Bentele told TPM in an interview this week. “And you have this consistent emergence — over and over and over — these partisan and racial factors are the most strongly associated with these outcomes.”

I have so tried to comment here at TOD to thank you all for the many hours of sanity and laughter and joy concerning the best President and first family in my life time but Word Press seems to elude me. So trying again and to give you a GREAT gift from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and Berklee School of Music and flash mob. Enjoy. http://www.berklee.edu/news/students-surprise-mfa-crowd-o-holy-night
