If Obama said it, it’s a lie. When it’s proven to be the truth, he got lucky – because it’s just a crazy coincidence that his lie turned out to be the truth after all. If he knew it was the truth, he would never have said it in the first place.
If Obama makes a speech about a specific issue, he’s just spewing pretty words. If Obama doesn’t speak on a specific issue, he’s trying to hide something. Or he should have spoken about something else entirely, because when he gets specific about one issue, that means he’s ignoring all of the really important issues he should be speaking about – those issues being whatever it was he didn’t mention.
If Obama did it, it must have been the wrong thing to do. When it turns out to have been the right thing to do, then Obama never did it. And if he did do it, he did it the wrong way. It was too little, too late – or it was too much, too soon. It went too far – while, at the same time, it didn’t go far enough. And even if it turns out to have been right, it’s still wrong.

This Christie presser is so long, he’s getting a five-o’clock shadow already.
Though it sounds crazy, the best thing he could do was NOT talk to the folks he fired. Once a conversation took place, he would have been told something that he would have to defend or cover-up. As long as he has co-conspirators willing to take the fall for him, he may have a little wiggle room to claim ignorance. Of course, who’d want an ignorant person running things.
On another note, if there is retribution for not endorsing Christie, then what were the rewards for endorsing him? I’m looking at NJ Dem party folks who would have normally been more enthusiastic for the Dem candidate.
Now that US Attorney is going to look into these……Now they will look at other past issues for pattern and when these guys start investigating…..Blagoivich, Clinton as in the Monica, Bob McDonnell, etc. Drip, Drip, Drip……..

Here’s some evidence of what I’m talking about - and Joe Scarborough tends to set the tone for how this is going to be approached by MSNBC…
he says the same thing about any ‘pub. he may set the tone, but he hasn’t been at all successful in his messaging. he gets too much credit, which is why he thinks he’s all that, and a bag of chips.
he’s not worth wasting time on even hearing anything he has to say. folks who take what he says to heart already agrees with him and they don’t matter either. rwnj hate him, he’s a rino. sane folks just let him humor them.
I agree that he’s wasting his time, and I’m not saying he will be successful. Heck these days, the media is largely unsuccessful in their attempts to protect GOP at all costs.

The Fort Lee mayor said NO ONE returned his calls since September. Shorter Mayor to Christi - GFY. If fact, one of the emails said that there was “radio silence” meaning they had no intention of talking to the mayor.
Also it has taken Christi from September to January 9 to apologize. Why? If he’s so “sad” now why wasn’t he “sad” about the harm the bridge closing caused of all the citizens?
I understand that there about 2000 docs hopefully that will be made public. I think another shoe is going to drop. Already, the emails that were released had information redacted. Who did that and why. This ain’t over and Christi knows it.

The whole article is worth reading to appreciate just how thin-skinned the governor really is. The piece points to example after example of Christie using the power of his office to punish rivals – even other Republicans – who’ve offended him in minor and inconsequential ways.
The governor obviously doesn’t want to be blamed for the Fort Lee fiasco, but looking back over the last four years, the available evidence paints a deeply unflattering portrait of an intemperate bully, willing to use the power of his administration to intimidate, punish, and harass.

Get this: Bob Shrum was just on Ed’s show. He thinks Christie will survive this. He said that a number of times, usually w/the caveat of IF he didn’t know, IF this and that and back to IF he didn’t know…….smh. Was very surprised the Bob Shrum has already joined in the “He’ll be fine and will survive.” He even said one time that IF he really didn’t know and IF he hadn’t created a culture for this type of thing to happen, he will come out even stronger!!!!!!!!!!!!! Considering that so many Democrats voted for Christi, I’m not surprised at Shrum. I couldn’t believe Christi actually won. It seems that Democrats didn’t bother to look at Christi’s record. They fell for the hype hook, line and sinker.

I absolutely agree. If it were not for blogs like this one and social media like Twitter we’d really be in the dark. We need to keep tweeting and posting on blogs. That’s how this information gets out. The only person that made this whole #Bridgegate a story was Rachel Maddow. I give her credit for this one. If Christie was gonna come out ahead on this, we’d be hearing from ‘pub party leaders and ‘Pub governors by now. They would have been out supporting him already. So far, not a peep. His appointee is taking the 5th, and everyone else involved have lawyered up. Christie astutely refused to talk to the people he fired (a smart lawyer type move). The ‘Pub rats have jumped ship and are imitating crickets right now. Fox news is not defending him or even trying to put out a narrative for him. He was Roger Ailes guy, yet not a peep on Fox.

In My Humble Opinion….
I’m inclined to believe that there was some serious bullying going on in Jersey and the Dem leadership in that state didn’t want to rock the boat with him. He was endorsed by democratic mayors, pastors, assemblymen, state senators and other leadership in the state. I think he had a stronghold on lots of people there. My hope and wish it that this all comes out in this investigation. The notion that so many dems voted for this bully simply because of his pushy, arrogant, in your face persona is beyond my comprehension. There is more to this than meets the eye. Why else would they go after this small town mayor because he wouldn’t fall in line? They were used to getting everyone on board with them and were determined to make an example of this mayor to keep everyone else in line. It’s corruption at its best.

Nixon in 1972 also Got elected by Many Dems and he won 49 states. By Mid 1973 Nixon was already drowning politically. He resigned on Aug 7, 2025 and left office on Aug 8th, 1974.
