Hi Jackie4O. Would you believe I just signed it at the opportune moment, though I thought I was taking my own sweet time? It’s true. I didn’t feel like signing in at 7am so I was sure I was too late for ‘early bird’. Life’s good!
{{{{{Chips Chica}}}}} The sun is struggling to make itself felt, and my world is starting to look up, CC. /whisper/ I am in negotiations with your Petal, for a truly awesome gift for my upcoming birthday. I already told him no petals! I figure if I start pointing him in the right direction early enough, I’m more likely to steer him away from some inappropriate mosquito swatter or other little doodad. Some min can be so dense! Will let you know how it turns out.
Ah! I forgot you were down *there* with Desertflower. I gripe about winter, but I know I couldn’t take the 80s, 90s, and sometimes 100s that you guys get. It’s one of the reasons I don’t gripe too, too loudly about the cold. ;)
We were finally seeing a serious melt of snow, with temps above freezing even at night. I actually saw grass where there was waist-high snow a week ago. I went to work without boots yesterday. Hurray! Spring was coming…….
We are now awaiting a major snowstorm tomorrow - we’re expecting about 8 inches in Chicago.
My advice = Don’t scream, and don’t await the snowstorm. Enjoy the in-between while it lasts!
Like Cookem, I’ve decided not to pay too much attention to shoveling for the rest of the season - unless of course I can’t get out of the driveway when i need to. This too will pass….I think.
‘The new law appears to be achieving its top goal….’
Really? Honestly, I haven’t read the article. Reading the summary above though, I am *surprised* the author seems surprised the law is starting to work the way the President SAID it would. They still haven’t accepted that he likes to know what he is talking about before he speaks. I *love* the way *they* are so careful to couch this (=his) positive accomplishment with such detached language.
O Ms Chipsy-wispy, I forgot my manners! How *are* you? And Mama C? And the ‘little’ canine one? And young nephew? Sure hope everyone is bouncing along with a smile and a twinkle in the eye. Wishing you all a very special Tuesday!:grin:
I saw the crew who comes on Today after Matt and Savannah goes off at 9am, talking about POTUS interview with Zach Galifianakis, they were talking about how funny POTUS was. So I said I just have to see it, and I come here and here it is, thanks alot. POTUS is the best.
I love what Aretha said, spelling and giving it is a huge difference. Hear that Republicans. By the way I’m sure anyone with any sense knows President Obama can spell RESPECT.
Thanks, dudette. Thee are members of my family who fit each of these descriptions, especially ..”the ones who take care of everyone else’s needs…” Bottom line: there’s no one you know or ever will know who doesn’t need love.
Good morning. Spring has decided to come on stage for a bit before the cold weather reappears on Thursday, so I’ll be stepping out today to enjoy it while I can. Today is the day that all nominating petitions are due in the state of PA, so we’ll know soon who made it or who didn’t. Then there’ll be a period of “challenges” as the stronger candidates contest the weaker candidates’ petitions. It’s impossible to know the strength of the Democratic ticket until all the jockeying and challenging ends, so we’ll see what kind of fight we have on our hands. What’s happening in other states?
Morning everyone:) Well worth the read this morning… http://thedailybanter.com/2014/03/five-years-later-the-tea-party-still-doesnt-understand-taxes-or-the-boston-tea-party/
The New York Times reports this morning that Chris Christie’s administration used wreckage from 9/11 as “politically motivated gifts,” part of a politicization of the Port Authority that is coming under increasing scrutiny from federal prosecutors in the wake of the Bridgegate scandal.
For a state that lost hundreds of lives on Sept. 11, the gifts were emotionally resonant: pieces of steel from the ruins of the World Trade Center. They were presented by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to 20 carefully chosen New Jersey mayors who sat atop a list of 100 whose endorsements Gov. Chris Christie hoped to win.
snip/
Turning wreckage of the twin towers into politically motivated gifts before Mr. Christie’s 2013 re-election was only one example. The authority became a means to reward friends (or hire them) and punish adversaries, and a bank to be used when Mr. Christie sought to avoid raising taxes. Major policy initiatives, such as instituting a large toll and fare increase in 2011, were treated like political campaigns to burnish the governor’s image.
“Lawyers for two key figures in a political payback plot ensnaring New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s administration will be in court to try to convince a judge not to force them to turn over text messages and other private communications to state legislators investigating the matter.
Fired Christie staffer Bridget Kelly and two-time campaign manager Bill Stepien say complying with the subpoenas carries the risk of self-incrimination. Kelly planned to be in court on Tuesday; Stepien does not.”
Okay, I have decided that complaining about this winter isn’t doing any good as we have 6-10″ coming in tonight. So, I am going to try reverse psychology.
Have I told everybody how much I love winter. Man, I hope it keeps snowing right into June, I love it so much.
Morning, Japa! Let’s take it easy on the reverse psychology re winter and snow, please. I know I’ve always felt that God has a sense of humour (specifically in regard to my own life) but I’m not sure, and don’t want to take any chances on his/her understanding of reverse psychology. Let’s not take the chance now that we’ve made it almost to the middle of March, okay?
For those that won’t click on this link…it appears that Mr. Stockman is partying with some Young Republicans at CPAC…..in a bathroom. While some guy is IN THE TUB. Oh, those judgmental little hypocrites……
You know Donna, I didn’t want to say it, but I too got the distinct impression that they were trying to one-up his video interview, which is STILL the #1 trend on Twitter.
Is Knoller paid to send out numbers in tweets - he does nothing else - ever - I would really love a job like that. Does he ever report/write news in any other medium? What did he do before Twitter? Weird guy, weird employer.
He is the WH correspondent for CBS news. During the press briefings he sits there with a little note pad and occasionally asks a question. I guess he’s just jotting down numbers and figures on that note pad and nothing else.
Sure is a nice job. DF and I have already vowed to find out how we can apply.
I wonder if there are media jobs like that in my world? I’ll have to find out. I’m very good with counting now the grand babe is turning into a toddler :)
Knoller has to be friends with someone to keep that job going.
Yes we have! We can job share, hf….we’d work twice as hard for half the salary…..such a deal! AND we know what we’re talking about!! CBS give us a call!!
So certain folks in the media, along with Feinstein are in outrage mode this morning. The media is once again looking for something they hope will embarrass the Obama administration. Something tells me that by the end of the day, this crap will have fizzled out and some people are going to have egg on their faces and it won’t be the administration.
Would guess that @SenFeinstein gave her speech on #CIA criminal conduct this am knowing Brennan due to speak at CFR at 1030. Wow.

Senate Intel comm chair Dianne Feinstein says CIA conducted unauthorized search of committee computers, internal work. Echoes of Watergate
This has been brewing for a long time and it’s getting pretty complicated. DiFi has called for an investigation from the DOJ.
Brennan’s testimony will most likely set the RW/MSM’s hair on fire.
Rozen seems to think that Brennan is a fraud - and that the WH is naive about him (See my tweet above). I’m not sure what her basis for saying this is. If it’s only on Feinstein’s unchallenged account, she may have a lot of walking back to do later today and in the coming days.
Yeah, I’ve been reading her tweets all morning. Her tweets often seem like “thinking out loud” hasty responses and that was my initial impression again this morning. DiFi appears to be out for Brennan’s head but I myself would like to know how and why removal was accomplished by committee staff.
I think I read somewhere that PBO favors some declassification. Am I right about that?
Yes, it seems to me that there’s a lot of ignorance flowing through the media - in their desperation to find the slightest speck of dust to throw at the Obama administration.

Exactly Donna, when President Obama circumvents the media firewall it drives them crazy.
The media could have helped millions of people get health insurance - they prefer to carry water for the GOP and help deny people Insurance
Someone should tweet that. Of
course, some like Chuckie will snort that it’s not their job to help people. SMH

You know Donna, I didn’t want to say it, but I too got the distinct impression that they were trying to one-up his video interview, which is STILL the #1 trend on Twitter.
So, I think I have shamelessly watched that Zach Galifianakis interview with President Obama at least 15 times since I arrived at work.
You’re not the only one CK - it’s the #1 or #2 trend on Twitter now.
